If you're talking about the maps that display on the statistics tab, you can edit your preferences here.

 

If you're talking about maps and other statistics that some people have on their front page, like this:

 

 

those are done through third party websites or software. If you see someone's you like, scroll down to the bottom of their profile and it should let you know what program or website they used.

This is because in Your Account Details page, you have not delineated the various countries regions that you want shown on your maps.

When looking at Profile Statistics the basic tab has the correct number of finds. The maps tab shows correct information for the US but does not show Mexico. Also, other profiles I have seen show a map. Mine does not. Why? Thanks, Ted
