  1. Yes. We would have to make sure everyone was already into the coins that others know are out there and then start with ones that come out after that. I can imagine that there will be some people that don't want to sell 30 or more coins to one person, then we would just send out the info about that coin to each person so they will know it's out there.
  2. Yes. Since I'm not computer savy at all I certainly wouldn't be the one. But you look at organizations like MIGO and wonder why a cacher dense area like this doesn't have something like that.
  3. Well a geocoin of course From the bumblebuttons site there is a FTF button you can buy. For a couple of my caches I made a FTF button with the cache name on it myself. Some people like to leave items from the gc.com store as well.
  4. Oh ya, the number of coins. One person was thinking of 3 and one was thinking of 5. Let me know how much you would like to commit too for every order and we'll go with majority rule.
  5. Okay I'm starting a group for collectors that are just going to buy every coin that comes out any way. It will work like this: #1 Putting the name on the list will commit you to buying a set number of each professionally made coin that is found available. #2 Payment will be due as soon as payment can be made to the group making the coin. #3 If a payment for a coin is missed you will be removed from the group because coins will have already been ordered for you. #4 $2 will be added to the cost of the coins for mailing. Hopefully that will be cheaper than if we all had to pay for shipping ourselves. So.... if you're interested reply to this or shoot me an email. I'll keep people update as to what coins are going to be ordered or have been ordered by email. To start with I'll take the first 10 people just to judge desire for this and control my out-of-pocket.
  6. Okay, talking with WoW it's becoming obvious that there is a large number of coin collectors and we are buying extra coins in hopes of trading with others. Yet, those others are buying every coin they see also. Someone else in a tread had mentioned getting a group of collectors together to order coins as they come out so each person doesn't have to hunt for people taking orders. At first I really didn't want to do this but since then there are more and more people collecting and many coins coming out. So I propose we do make a group. I'll go ahead and start it in another thread and people can just add their names on if they wish.
  7. Sounds good to me, especially since the "cache" it's too close to isn't a cache of anything at all. Now where's my "approved" stamp?
  8. As well as any handheld unit. You can buy autorouting software for it. The buttons are easier to manipulate while you're driving than the ones on say an etrex. I think the street names a little easier to read on an etrex, but that's if you have good eyes because the screen is smaller. I just tend to say "okay, turn right 3 streets down" and scroll the cursor if I really need to see a street name.
  9. From what I've seen the people that bought them originally have extras also in hopes of trading for those they don't have. And expect for the Vacman coin I've never seen anyone sell a personal coin. Of course with all the people collecting and buying them as they come out, it's really hard to get in sice everyone has all the new coins anyway. One way of course would be getting your own coin or trading in your area for really cool sig items from other cachers and then contact a collector (like myself ) for a swap of a coin for some sig items.
  10. Heh, this design is rolling right along.
  11. Or if you have a design that works better in just metal you can use Pressed Metal as was suggested at the start of the thread and cut the coin cost in half.
  12. That's what I was told. Just sold to locals. They kept it very hush, hush.
  13. Got one for my wife for Christmas. I guess it just depends on what you want to spend. The colour is very cool and helpful with the street maps while driving, but of course don't get you any closer to the caches. She got it because she wanted it, but if I was buying a Meridian for myself I would probably just go with the Gold for the best bang for the buck.
  14. http://www.beckydavis.com/dave/ You can see a bunch there. For the metal coins there are a couple of people that make their own and more that make wooden or clay ones. If you're shooting for trading for items like the moun10bike coin though I would say you have to have a really well done handmade item or pay the bucks for them to be made.
  15. I didn't do any caching this week because I bought Fable for the XBox.
  16. So much for things being bigger in Texas!
  17. I think the better questing is why would anyone make you solve a puzzle to get a micro?
  18. I trust cachers. So I try to get mine out ASAP. How does the other person know if they can trust you?
  19. I know what you're saying. I actually like the rankings that are out there and there were others that were even better. Just passing on what J has said many times in the past.
  20. I dunno. I think if I felt like I needed a gun I wouldn't go to that place.
  21. Gotta go with BS on that. I'm a Magellan guy and I'd never switch over to those things. If I was just interested in a smaller size I would have gone with Garmin in the first place.
  22. Will never happen. Jeremy has said over and over how he doesn't want to promote competition and how it's not about the numbers. Even though it is.
  23. KVCoins. They were very nice. It was $579 for 120 coins with colour one one side and postage. $150 of that was the die fee. Their pricing one their website is exactly what they charged me. Just had to send them a basic idea and graphic of what I wanted and they did the final design which I had them change a few times.
