  1. Good points! Actually 'making their dreams come true' is a bit much to ask for. I just want to set up a mission where the main focus is doing the reasearch instead of sendinga random coins. I know a lot of people have been doing this in other mission anyway, but here it is the main point. It is definitely not meant to set up people to lose (or gain!) a fortune. So the wish lists should not be too specific and/or too short. No use in only providing a list containing Mountainbike V1/V2/.. and similar coins. But if someone likes animal coins, that shouldn't be too hard to accomodate. Let's stick to common sense and reasonable budgets! This should also help answer your last question: dreams shouldn't be (next to) impossibile to make true. If someone really wants some very hard to get coin, of course they can put it on their wish list (you never know!), but there should be more feasibile options too. The other important aspect of this mission is the reporting back part. Pictures will be compulsary. A mere "Mission received" statement will not do the trick this time And actually I might be considering making this an ongoing mission, instead of one with fixed deadlines. Naturally on a (more or less) 'first come, first served' basis, so that someone who signs up in January won't have to wait until December for something to happen. More input is appreciated!
  2. Hm, my thread has gone over the edge to page 2. I'll give it one more chance by bumping it and i guess otherwise I'll take the hint
  3. kdv: received, as posted on Dec 31. So my name can be taken off the 'not yet' list
  4. Well posting in this thread really 'pays off'! I'd been coveting these coins for years and now I have been able to lay my hands on a wonderful puzzle set AND a Delft Blue Trapgevel coin, a Micro Loggerhead and a Baby Loggerhead are on their way to me too (still wouldn't mind to find a Mr & Mrs Loggerhead coin one day too)! Oh AND I seem to be getting another chance at the Delft Blue Tulip coin (as I didn't get lucky in the original lottery)! Thanks to those who made this possible So here's my revised list: - Dark Side of the Cache (if I'm not mistaken this is an Ebay coin only, which is being offered for ridiculous prices. But still, LOVE the album, so...) - Happy Caching Micro Pig (I have the other 4 coins in this series, but the funny thing is that I used to collect pigs and now the pig coin is the only one still missing) - Delft Blue Windmill (last one to complete the series) - Any Earth Turtle V1 - IRC Poffertjes Event 2009 (the only year still missing from my collection)

  6. mlmtf6 has all of them available for trade (or sale apparently) on cointracking.com. Search for "walpurgis" instead of "walpugis".
  7. That's what we do this for! All the great feedback
  8. I was thinking of setting up a mission myself too. Here's the idea: When participating in a coin mission, I especially like the process of researching my recipient and their (coin) preferences, therefore this would be the most important aspect of this mission. The person creating the mission will do their utmost to find coins that will make the recipient drool with pleasure. Names will NOT be assigned at random. Instead, every participant will provide an indication of what he or she likes coin-wise and in general. All participants will get the full list of names with additional info and when they get inspiration reading about one of the participants, they let me know and the assignment will be made official, if the name hasn't been taken by someone else yet (because I will keep the specific assignments a secret, to maintain the suprise factor). Here are the requirements to participate: - Send at least 2 unactivated trackable coins, of which at least one must be based on specific preferences of the recipient. - You must be willing to do some research to pick the perfect coin(s)! - You must be willing and able to post pictures in the mission thread upon receipt of your mission. (It's not that hard!) - You must be willing to ship internationally (this means participants from all over the world are invited to join in). - Adding additional gifts/swag/gadgets is of course allowed, and especially encouraged if it specifically suits the recipient. - I almost forgot: of course you must also be willing to provide some information regarding your (coin) preferences, the more the better. "I like everything" won't cut it this time. Timelines to be determined at a later stage. And I am planning to participate myself too.
  9. Well...I may hold on to it for a week (or maybe even two - tops, I promise). Some coins are atill on their way to me, and they will come in handy for trading!
  10. Here are some pictures of bruchino's presents. Sorry again for the bad quality (of the pictures!). Everything together: A shark plane with a lot of moving parts: A really cute Spongebob Christmas tree hanger: A beautiful "CITO/Every day earth day" coin: Thanks again for the very nice package!
  11. The international Blech package has arrived safely in Italy. These are the coins that were in the box: This is all the other stuff (except for the address list and the actual Blech pass with logbook): This is what I believe to have been swapped in last, swagwise: Actually, this feels a bit like a travelling cache. Which is nice in some respect, but swag-wise I don't think it's axactly as it was intended originally (but of course I maybe have interpreted this mission incorrectly). Anyway, I think I am going to swap out ALL swag and surprise the next recipient with new stuff. And of course I will do some coin trades too...

    No L

Hmmm, an envelope sent to me by me in the mail. Where did I see that get mentioned before? And yes! I got lucky too! Thank you so much for this cute Christmas mystery coin! It's vwery touching to know that someone chose to spent a lot of money to produce a smile on our faces. If they haven't won the lottery, I hope they will soon
  13. 2bugs is selling a set of 3 different metals of these coins on cointracking.com.
  14. I'll help you figure it out when we get to that stage, if you want. But in the end you have to specify yourself which coins are animal coins and which are not. This cannot be derived automatically from the name of the coin.

  17. Thanks for explaining Hagelslag Spy! Your points make sense, I'm glad I asked! I guess this way the 'small traders' (like myself, haha) will not get snowed under completely by the major league players.
  18. I was (and am) merely wondering about the reasoning behind some of these decisions. they could be such that even if I did run another math trade again mysefl, I might want to use those same parameters too.
  19. Well of course it's up to the math trade organizer, but again, in my opinion, the more the merrier. And people who don't feel like looking through all of the coins can simply look through half of them (or whatever) and base their 'wish lists' on that. I ran one of the earlier math trades a couple of years ago, and maybe it hadn't quite run 'out of hand' then, but I also don't see a problem in the software taking a few minutes (or even hours) longer to run. But again, of course it's up to the organizer to decide the parameters!
  20. Is it also allowed to list (groups of) pathtags, wooden coins and other similar items? And why is there a limit of 50 coins per person (not that I will have that many to list, I'm just curious - I'd think the more coins to chose from the better).
  21. The Geocacher's World Series (for now) consists of stamp coins for Germany, Netherlands and Finland. Like mentioned by others available on geocoinshop.de (the Netherlands edition also on geocachingshop.nl).
  22. kdv and bruchino: packages received yesterday (I still need to post pictures of bruchino's wonderful package) bruchino's outgoing package sent yesterday, kdv's a few days earlier
  23. There is the National Park Stamps series (Crater Lake, Denali, Zion, Yosemite, maybe more that I don't know of). I see that someone is offering one of thse up for trade/sale on cointracking.com (search for Available coins there). There is also a Travelling Ladybird Stamp Series. Again, you can see these doing a search on cointracking.com.
  24. kdv (adult) Signed up: Oct 24 Name Received: Nov 14 Package Sent: Dec 13 (sorry for the delay) Package Received: Dec 16 bruchino (kid) Signed up: Oct 24 Name Received: Nov 14 Package Sent: sending today Package Received: Dec 20: I hear bruchino's package has arrived today too...more on that later today! Today a big box from the US of A arrived and unpacking it was like having a second (or actually first) Christmas Day! Inside there were a sweet Christmas card, lots of holiday candies, a lot of gorgeous Christmas decorations (I LOVE the snowman hanger!), a great headlight for nightcaching! and a beautiful set of scarf, hat and gloves with leopard print. PLUS three amazing geocoins! But pictures speak louder than words (sporry for the poor quality): Thank you so much southern_angel!!
  25. The trick is to buy a few extra, so you can use them for trades.
