  3. I own a Meridian Color and to my knowledge it does not have a Electronic compass. I've been using it for about 4 months now. That is one of the big differences between the Platinium and the Color besides the Color screen. If it does have one I'd sure like to know how to turn it on. quote: I have seen posts about the color being a battery hog and a pain in the butt to see in the daylight; is this correct? It does use batteries a little more than the Platium but not too bad, and as far as seeing the screen in daylight... I can still read it just fine in full sun. It is a little harder though. quote:Do these models have a 128 Meg limit, or can I use the 256 mem card? Reading other thread indicates that they do use the 256MB cards... Read these threds... Platinum + 256MB SD card (Sandisk) 256 MB SD cards for Magellan Been there... Done that...

  10. quote:Originally posted by carleenp:Another story. We once bushwacked from one cache to another nearby one (it was fairly close on the GPS and we were already off trail). We went through tick infested grass, jumped logs, and got generally beat up. When we found the cache, we looked abut 20 feet to the right and saw a paved bike trail (the same we were initially on when we found the first one). Anyway, it was a 20 min. bushwack and 4 minute walk out! The same exact thing happend to me too on this one. Been there... Done that...
  11. When I first started out Geocaching. I almost always took the most direct route to the cache not caring what was in the way as you can see here... I kept on with this technique as it proved quite well. But as time went on and knowing the people in my area that place caches I know that most of them don't venture too far off the beaten path so there is usually a trail near by. so I've started looking for it. Now there are still certian cachers that venture way into the woods off the beating path that I still Bee-line to. Most of my caches are deep in the woods where no right minded Geomuggle would even come close to stealing my cache. I learn my lesson after getting one stolen twice. NO MORE! So in conclusion I voted for: "I like to bee line, but sometimes good judgement gets the better of me." Been there... Done that...
  12. quote:Originally posted by Mustard Devil: Before I go, a quote from one of my favourite actors... I'll be back! O no! That means the FTFs are still at risk! 14. A little while back there was a newbie that put his first cache on his patio of his appartment. I mean you had to go through the gate into his 5 X 5 patio to sign the logbook. He knew it was kinda corny but placed it anyway. He went on to placing decent caches afterwards though... Just a newbie mistake. Been there... Done that...

  22. I have a kinda simular cache... CWL007 - Cordova Multi, but instead of a fridge I used a ammo can with a pad lock. And to make matters worse I placed the key on a TB that they have to go find first. Then... to top it all off there are three projections to the actual cache but only one is correct. needless to say I've only had three people sucessfully finish the cache. I enjoy a real challenge! 24. Well it really depends on how you look at it I guess. If you're one of the ones without power still you are problably hating the world right now! I'm just now seeing tree clutter clean up. Everywhere you look you see a piles of tree limbs on the curb. Its still somewhat of a mess. Also there are still some stop lights that are out as well. Most of the lights that are out have PSTs directing traffic but out side of Memphis, (in shelby county) the stop lights that arn't working are unmaned it really backs up traffic! And if not to add to the mess, they are repaving the I-40 malfuntion junction. Causing traffic to back up to Nonconnah Pwy. Been there... Done that...
  25. I like it! Looks cool! Technically that wouldn't be digging if you ask me, you're just shoving it into the ground! That would make it a real challenge! Is it metal? You could require a metal detector to find it? Also where could you find one and how much would it cost? Been there... Done that...
