    Personal TB

quote:Originally posted by webscouter495:Anyone ever heard of someone creating a TB that they carry to all the caches that they post, log it in and out. This would allow someone to get a neat map of all the caches they have visited and the miles they have traveled to find caches. Yep! I got one too. Chuck's PTB Compass. The only problem about the maps is that if you do a lot of caching in the same area its really hard to read the map, check out mine... You can make out his map a little better. Been there... Done that...
  2. I don't really care which weekend. Just let me know! BTW: has it been decided where it is going to be? Been there... Done that...
  3. quote:Originally posted by ArkansasBugman:The starting point is in the same area as the parking area for Bitbrain's 4X4 cache. Doh! I saw the title, I was fixing a night time cache too but luckly in a differnt area. I ordered the light reflectors and everything. Well thats good anyway that way I can get some hints on how to go about it anyway or imrove on it. I'll try to be there sounds fun. But I doubt the kids (or the wife for that matter) will let me go on Holloween. But I'll be looking forward to it. Been there... Done that...
  4. As stated on the other messege board... quote:I'd have to vote for Saturday NIGHT. I'm usually very busy in the daytime hours. Woh!! I just quoted myself. Been there... Done that...
  5. quote:Originally posted by Gibbenator: Hey, we could have it somewhere near Shelby Farms and then hit the _Haunted Corn Maze_ and compare tracklogs afterwards. Thats a good idea I didn't think about that. I went to it last year, kinda cool. I was planning on going this weekend. I'll take my GPSr with me to see the tracklog. I'll try to post mine if I remember to take it. Been there... Done that...
  6. I have a simmular one... CWL007 - Cordova Multi (Tennessee) Its a locked ammo can. The key is tied to a TB... Chuck's Key Theres a third step envolved though. I like making mine tough. I enjoy a good long cache hunt! Been there... Done that...
  7. From Memphis (38002) 273 within 100 miles I like caches just as much as the next guy, but I hope we don't get too dense that we are just tripping over them. I guess its just that I'm getting a little tired of Micros. Been there... Done that...
  8. quote:Originally posted by TeamCNJC:Either wait until version 5 firmware is posted for the Meridian color, or call Magellan and complain about not being able to use a brand-new 128MB Sandisk SD card with your Meridian color, and ask them to send you the new firmware so that you're able to use your new GPS, and not have to return it. As I said before I'm using 4.02 and my 128MB Scandisk still works fine. I'd just like to use the new firmware. It usually fix bugs, but I think I'll wait unitll I hear that someone else has upgraded thier MeridiColor. Been there... Done that...
  9. Hmm... is the firmware only for the Gold and Platimum? I checked out the magellan website and they still showed 4.02 as the latest. I have a Meridian Color, has anyone loaded 5.12 on a Meridan Color? Just wondering before I lose all that caching time trying to fix my GPSr. heh heh Been there... Done that...

The next day at lunch SO brings it in to me Looks like you more than lucked out on it working... You're kinda lucky that it didn't sprot feet and walk away good thing it was still there the next day. Been there... Done that...

  13. I don't see why not. I've done it before. The TB owner would proabably really appreciate it! Been there... Done that...

  15. quote:Originally posted by boreal jeff & sons:Who/What is a muggles? You can find the answers to this a most terms in the Geocaching.com Glossary. Geomuggle A non-geocacher. Based on "Muggle" from the Harry Potter series, which is a nonmagical person. Usually this term is used after a non geocacher looks puzzled at a geocacher making circles with their GPS receiver, or when a non-geocacher accidentally finds a cache. Geomuggles are mostly harmless. I don't know if I completely agree with the "Mostly harmeless" part. I've had a cache pludered twice before. I just gave up and archived it. Been there... Done that...

Also does the Sportrak Color support an external antenna like the Meridian Color? Are there any other differences other than the memory cards? No and No... The Meridan color doen't have a compass or a barometer! Belive me I wish it did. I could use the fuctionaltity. Also the Sportack color doesn't support a external antenna. Another difference between the two is the screen The Meridian has a larger but lower resolution screen, while the Sportrak has a smaller but higher resolution screen. Been there... Done that...

  19. Yea, here's another one I picked up not too long ago... I still like the idea, and I might put one out like it myself. Been there... Done that...
  20. quote:Originally posted by Bartster:If you cache for 20 hours (as stated above), and you find 238 caches in those 20 hours, that's one find every 5 minutes. That basically means there is no searching time. Only going directly to the cache and logging it. It's hard to believe someone did this without already knowing EXACTLY where the caches were hidden. I'd love to hear from FullCt about how they accomplished this. I'm with Bartster on this... Thats kinda unbeliveable. On top of having to finding one every 5 minutes he says he traveled 400 miles thats at least 5 hours of driving alone 6-7 if he was in the city. I've been to Nashville twice and cached there. Sure there are alot more caches out there than in my area, but I only managed to hit 4-10 a day while caching for about 3-4 hours. What probably happened is that he found the caches over time and just logged them all the same day. O don't know why someone would do that but who knows?!? BTW... The most finds I have in a day I think is 17. Been there... Done that...

  22. Hey Jeremy! One thing I noticed on the updated "logging a cache". When I go back to edit a post to drop off a second TB in a cache, it doesn't give me the drop list to drop it. I have to create a note to drop a second TB. Cause I use a PTB and when I drop off a TB and my PTB I have to bug the cache owner with a Cache page Note sent to his E-mail. (cause I delete it off the cache page, but it still gets sent to his e-mail) Can this be changed or updated? Been there... Done that...
  23. Been there done that and man does it suck! Sorry to hear that, but in the mean time you'll have lots of time to cache! I know I did. I hit like twice as many as I usually do in a month and got like 10 FTFs! Good luck on your job hunt! Been there... Done that...
  24. Why would you want to get rid of the Altoid smell anyway. I thought it smelled good! A sweet smelling cache is always better than a stinky one. heh heh Been there... Done that...

I have a laptop with usb port, plug in my computer but the software does not see a com port, therefore it cannot find the garmin. Have yet to figure out a solution. You could always use a USB to Serial cable if your laptop doesn't have a serial port. Been there... Done that...
