if you were in an event,(science fun), that was a walk along a flat paved trail, 4.7 miles total,(shuttled back)
stopping along the way @ Planet Stations, where you had to get a solar system passport stamped
& get an answer from a guest scientist/teacher about a question, no cache container...
would you.....
want to have all the coordinates ahead of time, all you could do is watch the distances count down,
(your on a trail with the stations in order by distance from the sun)
or
since you won't need coordinates to find the station
would you be willing to have to get the coordinates yourself (mark the station) and submit them in order to complete the event.
thanks for any thoughts.

There is a program called DSWORLD, that links the NGS survey/benchmarks data with GoogleEarth
it shows a visual location and a link to the data sheet.
However, There is no connection to a log for geo-cachers.

Malcolm,
Having a little trouble getting DSWorld to work on my laptop @ home. It's a Vista 64 bit.(sucks)
DSWorld didn't start up GE.
I've reinstalled GE & DSWorld to the Programs files folder (not x86 per vista defaults)
Now DSW starts GE, but GE says it can't read the file "MD_Baltimore_X-0-0.kml".
I've also downloaded GETHVLIST, but haven't had time to use it yet.
any suggestions
Thanks,
Jerry

How often or when was the last time Geocaching.com updated the NGS DATABASE?
Also, when searching for Benchmarks, does that include horizontal or just vertical?
need your input on event cache
