I hope he means that he will try it with the basic eTrex Legend (black & White) and the Legend CX and not the Vista Cx as he mentioned as we were not inquiring about the Vista Cx. I have a brother that does own the Vista Cx along with a Legend Cx and he said they both are off when comparing to the Legend (black & White) so maybe this won't really matter, the results should be about the same. Tammer&jammer, Thanks for the effort, hopefully something will come of this.

I too find that my Legend CX is not as accurate as my old legend Black and white. I usually am out caching with family members or Friends, that are using the Black and white Legend, and almost 90% of time, their cordinance to the cache are more accurate than the Legend CX. I hope this isn't a problem with the new CX's, as if it is, I hope Garmin comes up with a fix or a solution. I am now starting to wonder if I should of waited and bought the new Venture CX instead, as I was thinking of doing originaly.

Upgraded To Legend Cx...and Loving It...
IronmOn replied to Jeff&Suli's topic in GPS technology and devices
Yea, hear you both there, I sold my Basic Legend to a Friend and invested in a Legend CX also, just a few weeks ago too. I really love the color maps, they just make geocaching so much more fun. I also went and bought Garmin's Mapsource City Navigator v7 and Autorouting is so cool. I really like being able to enter in address and having an autoroute figured right to the door steps. One thing I have noticed though, sometimes when Caching with my Team mates, the Basic Legend is closer to the posted Cord's than my Legend CX, anyone else notice that also???? -

Papperless With Spinner And Plucker
IronmOn replied to searchingforit's topic in GPS technology and devices
I tried using Spinner and Plucker, but found that there was a simplier and faster way of doing Paperless, called GSAK and Cachemeate, have you ever looked at those 2? I found a very complete and easy to follow tuturial here: http://65.34.18.106/content.php?article.15 -
You know, that sounds like what happens to me lots of times also, I feel for you for sure. Welcome to Hobby/Sport of GeoCaching, The Legend is really easy to use, just takes a little reading and patients. Good Luck and most of all, HAVE FUN! For starters I suggest reading the Beginners guide to Geocaching located here: http://www.factsfacts.com/geocacher.htm

If 64 megs are enough for you, go for it. Otherwise: Venture Cx at Amazon $210 with super saver shipping + Crucial card reader from newegg for $8 + $5 shipping (comes with USB cable) + Sandisk 512 MB microSD card 19.99 shipped, after rebate from buy.com (see previous posting) Total: $243 Which is 3 bucks more than the vista, but you get a 512 MB card, a microSD->SD adapter and a card reader. I wouldn't hesitate to call this a no brainer. Cool, thanks for the info, my wife wants a new GPS now, and I will look into tha

PLEASE TELL ME Where can you get the Venture Cx , USB Cable and 64 Micro SD Cards for cheaper price than buying a Legend CX $234.99 from New Egg (List Price $249.99 - $15 instant savings = $234.99 plus 3 day shipping $4.99 Total = $239.98) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16858108029 It also seems that all the latest Legend Cx's are coming with 64mb cards instead of 32mb cards

I started out using a Garmin e Trex Legend and it works great for finding Geocaches. You can get a new one for $119.00 from Tigerdirect. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/se...9&sku=G145-0026 I also just purchased a Garmin e Trex Legend CX because I wanted the auto-routing feature, figured it would help me find out of town job sites. I really enjoy the colorize maps better than the what the basic Legend has to offer. You can purchase one for $234.99 from New Egg (List Price $249.99 - $15 instant savings = $234.99 plus 3 day shipping $4.99 Total = $239.98) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16858108029

My Brother had the same problem and he could not use the computer with the Legend CX either. It happened to him with 2 Garmin Legend CX's, not sure if it is related to him also using a Vista C on the same computer to transfer Waypoints and map info. He did send them both back to garmin, I haven't talked to him since he sent the 2nd unit back. I hope this is not happening a lot, as I just recieved my Legend CX about a week ago.

I just purchased a Garmin Legend CX and noticed lots of people talking about Garmin's Mapsource City Select North America. I checked the compatible chart for City Select and it lists that it will work with the older Legend C model, but does not list anything newer. Does anyone know if City Select North America will work with the newer Legend CX as I want to use auto-routing?
