  1. I dropped off a GC today but accidently 'visited' it instead, how do I correct this log to a drop?
  2. Thanks to you both for the help, I dont have Basecamp so I shrunk the (very basic) map that came already on the GPS, this worked much better than I thought it was going to, it appears that the caches have loaded! yay!
  3. I am not sure that the new PQ that I tried to load to my GPS went on properly as a message came up but it was too fast for me to read! Is there a simple way to check the GPS and see if the caches are actually on there? I normally just check the first few that show but this new PQ is not local and I can only think that when I get near to them they will either pop up or not! but I need to know before we make the trip. Any ideas??
  4. I wondered if that was the normal way! I will get on with it then, Thanks!
  5. I have made PQs using my home coordinates a few times now and am getting used to making them but now I want to make one for Dartmoor, how do I start? am I best to just pick a central cache on Dartmoor then use those coordinates as the centre of my PQ, doing this means I wont know what size circle I will get until it is made, is there an easier way? (keep it very simple as I am not great with tech stuff!) Thanks
  6. I followed a very similar path with the Dakota and it was sorted. Thanks, it is so easy when you know how!
  7. I was doing a loop of caches and managed to mark a cache as 'found' when I hid my GPS inside my coat when a muggle passed! can it be changed back to my unfound?
  8. Personally I never saw anything wrong with a cigarette lighter. Until they were banned from caches, they were among my favorite swag to leave. Cheap and useful. I just dont think a lighter is exactly family friendly, also I dont think anything that contains any sort of liquid is a good idea, it may be exposed to freezing conditions or melting hot, for an hour or a couple of years, who knows? I'm curious as to why you would say a useful tool such as a lighter is not "family friendly". Porno mags, tobacco and alcohol I can see, however I don't see why a thoroughly useful tool like a lighter would be family unfriendly. Whatever....I will still remove them if I find any.

  10. I removed a cigarette lighter from a cache a couple of months ago what is wrong with these people!!!
  11. I was reading an article in a magazine and it just said that the family enjoy Geocaching at the weekends, it did not say any more than that, so I googled it! I am really glad that I did
  12. Why are you throwing this at me then? I had explained the situation.
  13. Pup Patrol maybe you should read my post properly before jumping on me! I have only just picked up the TB last weekend. I know what the TB etiquette is that is why I am asking the question.
  14. I have a TB in my inventory that I only picked up on 30th Sept, today when I looked at my inventory there is a star icon next to it and notification that it has had no activity in the last 14 days so I should drop it off soon??? how come?
  15. Thanks The A Team, 1st Canadian! and it looks very nice on my counter! Moved a Canadian coin not so long ago and took it to Wolford Chapel, a little piece of Canada in England, you can read about it if you search my Geocaches it was a multi.
  16. Awww, thanks jholly and my other mystery visitors x
  17. Finally managed to get my daughter to add my flag counter but my Union Jack flag is lonely, if anyone would like to click me feel free!!
  18. Yay!! I have done it, thanks for helping me everyone. I know I am thick when it comes to computers! If I didn't love caching so much I would have given up struggling with the technical side long ago and just gone walking, but now I know what is hiding in the undergrowth it spurs me on to try to learn (which takes time when you are 50) Thanks again.
  19. Thanks SH it is a good source of information, but my problem is not how to create the PQ, I need to know how to delete my old outdated cache info from my GPS so that I can add the new PQ. Anybody able to help a newbie?
  20. Just checked my stats and they are not there? Forget this bit, I just realised they had not had time to update! Still not on my overall count though, I want them please, I earned them! (as you can tell I am not having a very good day what with PQ problems as well!)
  21. I just logged 3 finds tonight and each time a notification came up, 500 something? so I just went back a page each time to check whether my finds had logged, they had and I have smilies but my count has not increased by those 3?
  22. I totally agree having spent ages at the weekend looking for a multi cache that I later discovered had been achived! that is why I am trying to get the new one sorted, the bit I am stuck on is how to remove the old stuff from my GPS? (it is a Garmin Dakota 10) Thanks for all help so far.
