  1. You guys really took this thing and ran with it! I may not be able to play on the 26th due to family obligations, but might be able to participate on other subsequent dates. You know, El Diablo, I kind of like the idea of the Evil Horde taking on all comers. JeffersonStone could be brought back to the Dark Side pretty easily.....

  3. I have a personal tracker bug, and only hope my wife never sees the page. She would really be upset if she saw how many miles I have put into this hobby. On the other hand, I haven't made up my mind about going back to cache #1 to make it complete. I only started after a friend gave me the bug, but maybe if there are a few spare hours sometime (as if).

  5. I am from Raleigh, but don't go dissing El Diablo too quickly. He earned that nickname justly, I can say from experience. What was that bumper sticker- Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! JoeyBob Apprentice member of the Evil Horde, Eastern Division

  7. I have only seen two snakes while caching, and both were in Chapel Hill- Balldercache, and the Maytag cache. I have carried a stick for a long time, more for spiderwebs than snakes. I do not like the sneaky little snakes, and give them every opportunity to leave me alone! JoeyBob

  9. I drove to Delaware from NC to get one a few weeks ago. It was worth the trip!

  11. Dang, I sure started some trouble, it looks like. I am all for the State Geocaching Championships! And just in case you didn't know- I ain't skeered! El Diablo, thanks again, Andrew loved the hiking stick! Thank you note and picture on the way this week. He is one happy little junior geocacher. Heck, barefoot, snow, uphill both ways? We had to carry slide rules to triangulate the satellites, build our receivers from oatmeal boxes and old model T parts!

  13. A $25 fee to place a cache? A placard on the dash if you are searching for geocaches? I won't be placing any in Umstead anytime soon. Did they ask for input from geocachers? Hawk-eye may have more info.

  15. Hey, I want to include more cachers, not exclude anyone. Experience is what we want to give, not require. As El Diablo said, once you try it, you are hooked. I just would like for groups to have some fun. JoeyBob I consider myself an apprentice to the Master- All Hail El Diablo!

  17. Let's do the meeting thing, I think that JeffersonStone is working on a location.
  18. That was the stage that JeffersonStone goofed the coords- led me back to the porta potty. I did read the hint later, it takes more than condoms to embarass a nurse! Find yourself a partner or two, and we will take your best. JoeyBob

  20. This was a part of my 100th cache last weekend. I had to park on the side of I-40 at a certain location, and look for a tree that was "different". It was a cell phone tower, and coincedentally, located in the parking lot of a building where I used to work about 14 years earlier!
  21. After last weekend's gargantuan quest, JeffersonStone and myself thought it would be fun to play team geocaching. Anyone interested in simultaneous, multi-stage geocaching? Your team hides a multicache, then we find each others caches. Let's play!

  23. just lots of tales of woe and frustration, I think. We should be having a good time trading stories over a cold one. Besides, it was years ago when I trained for the college rifle team-

  25. I appreciate it. Be warned, we do not have the graphic skills of Hawk-eye and yourself.
