  1. I'd be interested in helping out too.
  2. Here's one and another that I found after a quick search.
  3. The times I've gone on a group hunt, when somebody finds the cache they will move a fair distance away before declaring that they've found it. This allows the others to continue to search for it.
  4. I use the Camelbak TrailBlazer. It carries everything I need and is very comfortable. I find myself drinking more often and staying better hydrated than when I carried bottled water. I haven't noticed a plastic taste from the Camelbak bladder.
  5. I think the most important thing is to make sure the bladder dries out completely. I have wide-mouth Camelbak bladder and I took a metal coat hanger and bent and formed it so that I can stick it down in the bladder. It holds the sides of the bladder apart so that it can dry out. It also has the hook from the coat hanger so I can hang it up to dry. I also pull off the bite-valve so that a little air can circulate through the tube. I haven't found anything growing in my bladder yet.
  6. Darn. The 3rd doesn't work for me - I'll be on call for work that weekend. Oh well, maybe next time.
  7. I borrowed a coworker's GPSr for our first hunt. We got to the general area of the cache easy enough. Like briansnat, we tried matching up the coordinates displayed on the GPSr with the coordinates on the printout. We walked a N-S line trying to match up the N coordinate and then turned to an E-W line trying to match up the W coordinate. Eventually, we gave up on the coordinates and just scoured the area until we found the cache.
  8. I've been waiting for the entire series to be in place. Looking forward to giving it a go.
  9. I'm left-handed, but I bat, shoot, and use scissors right-handed.
  10. Looks good. If enough people contribute, the site has potential.
  11. Great food and a great bunch of people. I had a really nice time seeing everyone and look forward to the next get-together.
  12. From an aerial photo, I get N40 54.585 W74 01.902. It's right by the Riverside Square Mall in the Home Depot parking lot. Here's their page with directions.
  13. How about getting this RAM Meridian Cradle: RAM Meridian Cradle Then attach the lanyard to the little ring on the side of the cradle.
  14. Kitty. I think it would be funny to call "Here Kitty, Kitty!" and have a dog run up to you.
  15. I don't know if Santa employs GPS technology, but NORAD tracks him every year. NORAD Tracks Santa
  16. GPSr: North up, true north Maps: North up
  17. I would like the ability to keep individual photos out of the "gallery", or at least be able to disable my "gallery." For example, one day I did a hike where I found 9 caches. I uploaded a picture of my GPS track log to each cache page. Now, in my "gallery", I have 9 identical pictures next to each other. Frankly, it looks stupid. I never intended for them to be displayed this way.
  18. MyMeridian works with the 5.12 firmware. You just need to make a change in the MyMeridian.ini file. Change the "All data" line to "All data is provided".
