  1. The link posted by Sound-Chaser is the front, but as posted by unicyclist I to need the lined paper as well. Maybe I will have to make it, but I was hoping for a link to a micro cache log similar to what I used last time.

Thanks sound-chaser I am now half way there.

  2. For some reason I can not find the link to the micro log sheets that I found when I put out my first micro. The log is now full and I need the link again and for the life of me I can not find it.

If you can point me in the direction of the link I would greatly apperciated.

    Thanks,

  3. I am currently trying an idea out. Here it goes, I give a TB (TBQAEP) to a friend, family member, or geocaching friend who is going on vacation to someplace fun or exotic. This person then drops my TB in a cache and I wait for it to return to a cache here in Northern Nevada. Once it return I will give it to someone else and wait for it to return. I plan to update the bug web page on its travel and how many times it goes out and make it back. All in all it should be fun to see the places it visits. I am not trying to steal your thread, just sharing an idea. Good luck with your travel bug.

  4. There is probably a million thread on this subject but.......

I am thinking of put out a mult, so what are some of the do's and don'ts from experience multi-cache owners and hunter. I currently do not hunt mult because my three year old twin boys would get tried of it quick, but one day it will be about the hunt for them to and not the McToys. If you have read the thread "your opinion" the cog idea is really cool being a mechanical engineer and all, but the maintains sounds like it could become a nightmare. I was thinking of doing something along the same line except the cacher would have to sovle a tavern puzzle to open the cache to get the clue. What do you think and/or have you seen a cache like the one I am thinking of placing? Any comment and suggestion will be appercaited.

  5. I was reading this post and about to reply that I had no idea what you people were talking about then I noticed that I was not logged in. Once logged in the thread made sense. I choose mine because it fit geocaching and my love for adventure.

  6. Below is the error I am getting when I try to drop a TB I have had for more than 14 days! I have contacted the owner to let him know that I was sorry for holding on to it for so long. Now I have dropped it in a cache and the web site will not let me place it in the cache. Each time I try I get the error. Any infro will be appericated. B)

  7. Well, I just read most of this thread and I have got to say WOW. I have seen groups of people kick a dead horse in forum before, but this is truely amazing. If I owned the cache in question I would remove it, sell my GPS on ebay, and move across the country after reading this thread. Maybe I didn't read enough and maybe I do not understand all the details, but CSI style software to measure cache photos is a little nuts in my humble opinion. I think the cache should be removed, but email to the ower and the approver in the area should have been enough, if not, continue to kick the dead horse I am going cacheing.

  8. As a newbie at this sport/game I enjoy the concept of the travel bug. I think that one of the problems with tbs, are that it is a little confusing to the new guy/girl to pick-up them a put them in their personal inventory. It is my understanding that you need to go to the grey box right hand side and click on the tb that you just picked up. Second you need to log that you currently have the bug in your possession. It sounds so easy when put into two sentences, but I think that it get missed alot of the time and not on purpose. Here is a solution that I would like comments on. Maybe it has already been brought up and beat down but here it goes.....

When a cache has a tb in it or there is suppose to be a tb in the cache. Why is there no drop down menu for the tb on the cache log page? This I feel would remind the logger/last visitor to pick of the tb at the same time and if a logger/last vistor does select a tb from the cache inventory he/she would be given the opportunity to fill out the log at the same time. So, do you think this would reduce confussion and help control lost tb or is my explantion of my idea unclear or is it just a terrible solution?

    Just an idea....

    Thanks

  9. I bought a pair of mountain bike shoes and petals about a year ago. I agree with NotThePainter once you wear/use clipless shoes and petals there is no going back! I have a pair of specialized shoe that are ok for walking around in but I would not want to hike very far in them. In my humble opinion I would buy a decent pair of mountian bike shoes and petals (about 150 to 200 USD) and carry a pair of lightweight cross trainers in my day pack.

  10. 4hounds that would be sweet, but the HOCKEYTOWN puck is sitting in my cache in Nevada. Unless we can get a series of cachers willing to move this thing in a hurry I do not see it happen this hockey season. Not to mention I am in the heart of Shark country. and get this the FTF, a sharks fan, was afraid to touch the puck. He's probably never been ice fishing either. :)

  11. Well, I have activated my hockey puck TB "HOCKEYTOWN Puck" TBPXJ0! I will be releasing it this weekend in my first geocache. So let the jounrey begin for this puck and we will see where it ends up. Thanks for the advice and opinions. I hope my travel bug make it to a cache near you.

  12. Just got into the game about a month ago. I have found several cache and I am currently putting together my first cache. I was thinking of releasing a hockey puck with a travel bug attached. Its goal would be to vist Detroit maybe even go to a Redwings game. Any thought on this? Has anyone every tried a Hockey puck TB? Did someone just pocket it? Please feel free to give any suggestion, ideas, and comments. I have curretly been reading the longevity thread and now I am having second thoughts. I don't want to put out a TB just to have it pocketed soon after release. I understand that is the risk you take when releasing a TB, but there is no sense in it becoming a mantle piece and in the TB graveyard long before its time.

Thanks for any suggestion, ideas, and comments ahead of time.

  13. Some community college run course on how to use a GPS you may want to look into that or find a local Geocaching club and go to meeting. I have been involved with Geocaching for only a couple of weeks but the community at large is very helpful.
