Sorry, I did update the chart a few weeks ago, but it seems I forgot to put it online.
Due to a few of the caches being archived and replaced, it's becoming a little tricky to do now.
You may have noticed there is a tiny little Geocaching event happening on August 3rd - there is only a handful of us organising it, and it's currently taking up the majority of my free time.
sorry Jaz666, I didn't know you were involved with the mega event & as I'm not really a techie I have no idea what is involved to update the chart etc. Many thanks for doing it though, I do find it interesting

Hopefully the Little Quest finders page will be updated soon, I know some cachers are getting close but not sure if L8HNB will be third???
-
Cache review is easy compared to being a forum moderator. It is tough. The first post in that topic dodgydaved linked to expresses some of that and why one of the original moderators stepped down way back then. I loved this quote in that first post...
I know they were probably just frustrated when they called Americans "small minded". Like I say, no big deal to me, just interesting.Time to restore some sanity, c'mon you guys, please try to live in harmony, if not in unison.I do think that an individual has to decide if they want to do both positions of reviewer and moderator. Deceangi is going a great job with their added workload. I do both, others don't want to. Interesting first post in this topic.
Good luck to you mtn-man, this (UK) forum has become so much the domain of a few names that the vast majority of UK cachers feel excluded, hopefully things will begin to change for the better now. The views posted on this forum are certainly not the overall feeling of all geocachers in the UK!

Very big congrats go to FantasticCat on reaching the 4 figure mark, not only that but also beating the record for the fastest 0-1000!!!
Well done mate.

Thanks guys & gals for your kind comments, actually the total distance travelled was 5083 miles! In response to my friend FantasticCat actually we did not spend a single penny in petrol, we used the diesel car for this and yes I did keep a running total of the cost which ended up as £711.62 (ish), but don't tell Mrs Rastan or I'm a dead man
Big thanks to L8HNB for LQ:Worcestershire, would recommend this to everyone, don't want to give the game away but the cache container will certainly bring a smile to your face
And HazelS's LQ:Merseyside just brought the memories back of my childhood, anyone here remember the liver birds? was humming the tune for 2 days after, the views from the top of the nearby tower were stunning (now I'm stuck with that tune in my head again )
Was a shame that KandG's LQ:Warwickshire had been muggled on the day that we happened to be passing, but hey (or "yay" as a certain seafairing type would say), we got to enjoy this location twice!
And we enjoyed Realmofchaos's LQ:Derbyshire cache, remember this one well although it was one of the first we found, great vantage point with fantastic views, we decided to have our "dinner" here and take in the scenery!
Can't express my thanks enough to PopUpPirate for organising this series, it really has been so much fun, feel sad in a way that it's over, what are we going to do now? And also big thanks goes to pklong for encouraging me along the way and standing by as my paf (never used that lifeline though, but very nearly did, was nice to know it was there)

my earlier comments were not directed at any particular person, or indeed any particular individuals, just meant as a general statement with no offence intended to anyone at all....seems some others agree with me anyway, however if this is what I expect to find when I attend the event:
[/img]
Perhaps there won't be 6 of us attending after all! might just be 1!!!
Thank goodness Mrs Rastan doesn't browse these forums...
-
I don't normally have much time for the forums because I feel it is full of whingers and whiners.....I rest my case! bye
-
The same thing happened to me, but I still attended anyway. It seems if you log a "will attend" more than 30 days before the event, 30 days after you posted the "will attend" log it gets removed from your profile - strange - guess you need to write it down on the calendar also! By the way, thanks for the Surrey LQ Jon, that was great fun!!! Nothing to do with this subject I know but what a great cache

We are chomping on the bit here Can we have Lincolnshire and Merseyside please?
-
43 down, 4 to go
EAST SUSSEX, HERTFORDSHIRE, LINCOLNSHIRE, MERSEYSIDE.
Plus the final of course
The background image might change on the cache listings cos, erm, it's a bit naff Will happen automatically cos they're all hotlinked
love the new background PUP, great to see it includes the London Underground logo
-
LQ:HERTFORDSHIRE - Lilly Who? is up and running. It's my first cache so please don't be too harsh with your logs.
Hope certain people don't visit too soon then
-
Yes :
EAST SUSSEX, GREATER LONDON, HERTFORDSHIRE, LINCOLNSHIRE, MERSEYSIDE, WEST YORKSHIRE
Still to go live. No pressure... yet
What's the quickest timescale they could all be found in?
mmmm, I'm working on it, the quickest timescale that I could find them all depends on how long it takes to persuade Mrs Rastan that travelling all over England at every opportunity is not "a waste of time and money spent on diesel" will get there eventually, did manage a very nice trip as far as South Yorkshire the other day ....just need a few more such trips!
Anyone know what the story is with STAFFORDSHIRE?
Thanks to Deceangi for pointing out that WEST YORKSHIRE has gone live today - another chance for me to sit in the roadworks on the M1
-
Am I correct in thinking that the caches we are now waiting for are: EAST SUSSEX, GREATER LONDON, HERTFORDSHIRE, LINCOLNSHIRE, MERSEYSIDE, WEST YORKSHIRE? and STAFFORDSHIRE has been temporarily unavailable since August 19th? Please let me know if any of the above have been published, cheers.

Happy Birthday Aaron, I'm sure you will get lots of presents anyway despite the postal strike....don't want to put a dampener on Aaron's birthday but what if Aaron's daddy worked for the Royal Mail? What would you tell him next year? "sorry son, we can't go on holiday this year because I don't have any time off because my holiday has been reduced, and my salary has been reduced so we can't afford it because all my money goes on paying the mortgage and there is nothing left over" I bet I'm gonna be slated after posting this but I also have a young family, it's very hard to make ends meet - withdrawing our labour is the only weapon we have left, what else can we do? live in poverty? And no, I don't work for Royal Mail, but I do agree with their action, even though it means I will personally be inconvenienced (just sent off for a new passport, almost certain it won't arrive before I travel to France next week). Sure someone will look at my profile and start harping on about Bob Crow, let me say now - I didn't vote for him! But he certainly looks after his members! Shame no-one else looks after anyone, I'm alright Jack seems to be the new motto. Shame.

I will try that, thanks
-
in those days there were only 2 caches in the whole of Scotland! Oh yes times have changed, and very quickly indeed!
-
oh no, I'm not going to let this spoil my enjoyment of geocaching guess you always get a bad apple in every barrel! Not exactly on this subject Jon but I do remember finding one of your caches last year, rail fence ring any bells? I spent days and days trying to figure it out, did eventually get there though, was good fun, thanks
-
Thanks Jon, I guess I was a little too trusting, but yes I am sad because it was a present from my son, next time I won't release a present from my children into the "wild" I've learnt my lesson the hard way....shame...

My son bought me a world travel geocoin for my birthday but it has been in the hands of a geocacher who has not signed into his/her account for many months and despite many, many email requests to this person to place my coin in their nearest cache, it has been with them since February. I even offered to send them a postage paid envelope to try to make it as easy as possible but I have never received a reply to any of my numerous emails....any suggestions?
-
Thanks Bogtwashes.
I do enjoy the wait to see if it is you or Rastan who get the FTF. Se seemed to struggle on the last one
Rastan has said he is going to the coast shortly so I might give it to him to drop off somewhere. Thanks for the offer.
Still no word on the TB though...
Cheers,
Crispin
Hey, have I finally worked out how the forum works? I'm new here, kind of a virgin. I'm going to Scotland next week, great place for surfing but not sure it's famous for surfing. Hi Crispin, Hi Bob, Hi Jeff, Hello Mum! does it really work??
BIG CONGRATS TO L8HNB

Well done to Henry & Linda for the massive achievement of completing the little quest!
