  1. rotflol I just got the one who hid the evil micro yesterday!!! He was 5 feet from the cache and it was in plain view! I can see the cache from across the play field that's how in plain view it is!!!! LOL
  2. a cache in a high muggle zone. You have to be brave enough to find it.
  3. - you cuss out your other half for getting you pregnant cause now you can't go on cache hikes anymore cause the doctor has banned you from anything strenuous and your doctor considers hikes strenuous. (that happened to me!)
  4. the cap/flashlight comes off so i can pick where to write.
  5. I'm envious! Spider and Jeanne are among the few "celebrities" I'd actually like to meet. (And now you've made me not only want to go dig up my copy of "Stardance", but my old PC game "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon". ) I had the honor of being there when Spider was singing - twice. Once, in a bar, he was doing an old Beetle's tune and everyone was singing along with Paul's solo, then with John's, then with George's solo, everyone shut up. It was dead quiet. Then when he got to Ringo's solo, everyone sang again. Afterwards, he asked the crowd "why?" and the punster of the group, Frank Skinner, said "well, everyone wants to be a Starr." This was at a closed coffee club. Jeanne and I had a long convo. She explained to me that it didn't matter if the Stardance series was being combined into one book, just so long as it stayed in print. Then I heard him sing again. And later that same convention, I watched him get the "frank skinner memorial elrond" just after Frank got the "spider robinson memorial elron." I also was able to take a lesson in meditation 101 by Jeanne. One of Spider's pun books was a misprint. The person setting the type changed one word on the first page so that the pun doesn't work. It passed editing. It was the typesetter that fubared it. So anytime he sees a copy of that book, he corrects the mistake.
  6. i laminated a copy of the geo-u brochure and am adding it to my cache and carry just in case...
  7. Mamid = Stardancer in a native language in North America. I love the Spider and Jeanne Robinson books based on "Stardance." I'm part native. I've spent time in both their company and asked if I could use the word. Jeanne said "go for it." So I have.
  8. I was told by another local cacher to "turn it off cause it wastes batteries." I don't give a hoof about batteries. I want accuracy.
  9. Is WAAS any good if you are in Canada? I'm about an hour north of the border by car (driving, not degrees) and am wondering if turning WAAS on would help?
  10. I found a cool pen at a dollar store and I plan on grabbing more when I go there again in a few days. The top is a flashlight! No need for both a flashlight and a pen with that baby!
  11. Steward Park Girl Cache This is the cache I want to replace. The last few logs describe it as "no more" (feb 11/06) and "disapeared" (feb 18/06). I was the last cacher to find it too (feb 11/06) . So that means after I found it, it got muggled or worse. In December, Cache-Tech was checking on its status and the owner - logickid - is "goecaching on hold for now." I didn't want to step on his toes...
  12. There's a cache near me, or rather was, that I and lots of other cachers liked and it has since been archived from muggling. The owner is "too busy" to cache and hasn't contacted me. Would it be poor sportsmanship to put a new cache in the same place or should I see if I can adopt it from him? I have plans for the new cache. I do I do I do. I already am putting together the stash contents...
  13. my first cache is on private property. Why? because my residential manager (landlady) said that we could do anything we wanted on our own property/area. There were several other places in the area I wanted to place a cache and I would have, but decided in the end not to. I didn't want to step on her or any of my neighbours' toes. So I've been slowly educating my neighbours about it. My landlady had fun when one cacher came up and asked her about it. She's totally into it and yes, I gave her the geo-U panphlet. Some of my neighbours are also getting a kick watching these people stumble around confused about the cache. Its not like its hidden. The location is in plain sight - if you know what to look for. Considering how into it my landlady is, I probably could have done a multi-stage puzzle cache and would have had people end up in the same place. 14. my area is full of good hiders. To the point where I want to throttle some of them. Like the new micro. I really want to do a revenge cache just to get back at him.
  15. I'm tempted to set out a micro at this one park because of the new renovations they've done to it. it is SCREAMING for a cache. I go by it several times a day and I just wanna gotta hafta put a cache there. I also asked a local cacher if he'd like for me to adopt his cache that has been archived for ages since it was muggled. I have plans if I can get it. bwahahahahaha. I'm curious - is it possible to say put a small or regular cache near a micro (like within 100 metres)? Someone put a micro near a spot I was eyeing but it is a couple of blocks away walking, but less than 100m as the satelites track. I have permission from the landlord, I'm just trying to figure out the cache style. Small medium or Big Boy.
  16. send me an email. I can edit it down to an avatar size (150X150 pixels, right? i'm not a premium member yet, so I don't know)
  17. another cacher and I found this pne micro - and I mean smaller than my pinkie - today. So I'm going to confer with that cacher about making a hide just as nasty if not more so just because of how mean that guy was. But I don't think it'll be a micro. That'll be just mean.
  18. The ones I enjoy are ones that have a bit of a challenge but Are Not Micros and don't require a degree in cryptonimicron to decipher it! Shafto? What are you doing here? Is it still mutiny if the ship's run aground?
  19. I think I broke a rib from laughing too hard. I posted on your blog and added you to my favorites.
  20. have you ever seen one of those things fly???? oi vey!
  21. Use your satelites screen to zero out the area you should search once you get to within 30'. At that point, it usually is a simple circle search. Not always. And remember : look up and down!
