Se a geocoin pertence a outro geocacher, não é de bom tom ficares com ela. Será até algo muito incorrecto. O objectivo é passear por aí, portanto a ideia é deixá-la numa cache que faças em breve para que alguém a possa encontrar, registar e o processo se ir repetindo, com a geocoin a recolher histórias e viagens. Parece um bocado lírico mas é a forma como tudo deve funcionar. Quanto a comprar um novo trackable, podes fazê-lo junto de um dos parceiros comerciais da Groundspeak em Portugal (existem várias lojas físicas e/ou online), comprar ou trocar a/com outros geocachers que tenham para venda (dá uma vista de olhos aos forums locais http://geopt.org ou http://geocaching-pt.net) ou mandar vir do estrangeiro (o ebay é uma boa alternativa). I'd say Sintra would offer you enough reasons to stay there for a whole day. The powertrail in Malveira (Jeromelo, whatever) will also take you 6 or 7 hours to complete, to which you'll have to add the overhead to get to the initial cache by public transportation (not that regular, if I recall). I noticed your schedule is tight, and "flying" from Porto to Lisbon you'd have a chance to stop by in Aveiro, Coimbra and Santarém to take a look around (most of the "interesting" places will have caches, BTW). Regarding the event, consider Parque das Nações. The area has good parking, good public transportation nearby and about a dozen of bars and restaurants by the river. Well, native draft beer (sagres/superbock) is probably going to be a little stronger than you'd expect. Be cautious about that. We don't want your trip ruined by a massive hangover. Regarding wines, there are a couple of places popping by that will allow you to taste portuguese winery accompanied by professional support whom will recommend the best appetizer combination for each wine (or the best wine to go with the dish of your choice). There are one or two places like that in Lisbon that I would recommend. Where exactly are you planning to attend to on your visit?

Caros Na sequência da cimeira da NATO a decorrer nos próximos dias 18-21 de Novembro no Parque das Nações (Lisboa), a zona envolvente da FIL, Pavilhão Atlântico e Pavilhão de Portugal será alvo de forte acção policial e vigilância. Fiquei um bocado assustado com os valores, mas compreendo que para uma expedição de 10 dias tem a sua justificação. Sinto um bichinho a dizer-me para alinhar numa coisa destas, mas tenho ainda mais dúvidas que certezas. Em termos de veículo, que impacto é que podemos esperar no mesmo? Um puro sangue japonês com 16 anos e 200 mil aguentaria uma prova destas? Ou teria que levar uma preparação jeitosa de antemão? E se lhe acontecer alguma coisa durante a viagem?

ok, let's assume for a minute you placed a really good cache. scenic hike, nature at its best, panoramic view, top quality container, loads of trinkets and trackables available. john doe places a fake "found it" on your cache. didn't bother to take out his bottom of the couch to log it. clicked the button and increased his count. you took so much effort into hiding the cache. he didn't get to witness all of that and to enjoy the walk and the view and whatever you wanted people to. that's his problem. his loss. on the other hand, someone who took the time to study your clear instructions on how to get to the cache, saw the appetizer pictures for the whole scenic thing and walked his boots off, found the cache, signed the log and then logged the cache and thanked you for the fun you provided him. you both win. why bother if someone gets satisfaction on cheating and increasing his numbers using your caches? he's the one that's missing all the fun.

Besides keeping bookmarks of favorite caches and keeping those SPECIAL caches on permanent watchlist, whenever I go to a event or abroad I usually keep the local caches on watchlist for a week or two to get the hang of it: it the trackables I've left were taken properly, if I left the cache correctly replaced so the next cachers managed to get it and it was on good shape...

Os 161 metros correspondem a 0.1 milhas. Creio que será um número arredondado suficientemente fácil de memorizar para ser estabelecido como padrão.

As a cache finder, I like caches with such limitations to be pretty clear about these limitations. The way I see things, there are more caches everyday that don't feature things that are much more important for a decent search - parking coordinates - adequate description - adequate use of attributes IMHO, the attribute itself is not clear enough to specify which are the cache limitations (specifically, when do these take place) but only that these limitations exist. If I do a pocket query excluding caches with such an attribute, I might exclude caches that are available at that specific time of the year I'm performing the query and vice versa. You'll need a little more than a simple attribute...

Não sei se repararam, mas o geocaching.com permite, a partir da passada sexta feira, que um determinado registo possa ser nomeado para uma espécie de "best-of". Quando o Sup3rFM colocou a primeira Earthcache em Pipa (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=23d6ed0c-1cb9-4578-a366-fc9a6e25b426) e eu tinha planos para criar outra ali bem perto (faltava apenas alguma fundamentação científica), conseguimos encontrar uns documentos online sobre o património de interesse geológico do Brasil. Existe uma lista de pontos inventariados com documentação científica para inúmeros pontos ao longo de todo o território. Se houver interessados, posso procurar essa informação, sendo que prefiro esta aproximação - colocarem-se boas earthcaches onde realmente há motivo para isso - que o colocarem-se earthcaches em pontos/fenómenos/manifestações comuns e/ou mal fundamentadas, retirando o interesse científico e cultural.

Even with INATN or GSAK, I think it wouldn't hurt for premium member profiles to have some more auto-generated stats based on the users caches. I would definitely buy that. Zero click publishing of a bazillion stats and graphs.

Olá O projecto Geogare é iniciativa de um geocacher (ou conjunto de geocachers). Creio que a melhor maneira de saberes mais informação é dirigires-te directamente a ele(s). Recordo que não é aconselhada/permitida a colocação de geocaches dentro das estações sem consentimento da entidade que as gere e que devido às preocupações com a segurança existem um rol de limitações que são impostas pela mesma entidade.
