On March, 17, the portuguese geocacher community had its 2nd ever CITO event, on the Arrábida park, near the Cave of Santa Margarida cache. The place is private property but it's been open to the public for years now, which has caused it to be vandalized and filled with all sorts of garbage: cans, bottles, old clothes, matresses...
Most of us spent the whole morning searching for the infamous Six Feet Under geocache. The lunch didn't go as planned because we had to deal with some car problems, so there were a couple of unwanted clouds over us we're simply not used to. The cleaning up began about 4PM and we rocked, we simply turned the place over and did a hell of a cleaning job.
A brief look on how it looked like before. It sure could use some cleaning.
It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
The outside, facing the ocean, also needed some care.
This is the result of our hard work!
The cleaning team:
left side:
clcortez, lynx pardinus, vera portelada, rifkinda, rifkind, vanessa, catarina_as_ferreira, btrodrigues
right side:
mantunes, pmateus21, pcardoso, david portelada (diving), sara and joaopedrogeraldo
Feel free to drop by the event page for some logs (most of them are in portuguese, sorry) and photos. We've taken about 400 pictures all day long and if we could, we'd post them all.
