  1. I've been trying to reach Garri through the usual ways (sending him a email message) from his profile page. His mailbox @vodafone.es seems to be full and the emails are bouncing back. Garri, are you reading this? Does anyone know him IRL and is willing to warn him about this?
  2. same problem here. keeps happening. anyway, a warning message about the short description size would be apreciated... I remember getting a warning about exceeding 1500 (?) chars on the short description...
  3. Is it just me, or it's still possible to log these babies?
  4. I hadn't seen this before until yesterday. Some travel bug descriptions (caches may have these too, but I haven't got into that) have foreign characters which are not properly represented or escaped on the <description> tag of the KML file. This causes Google Earth to claim a parse error at this section, rendering the traject and WPT plotting useless. You can check out for yourself by looking at one of my travelbugs page, looking at the description and then downloading the KML file and loading it on Google Earth. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=150530 Couldn't this <description> contents be escaped by using CDATA or something to avoid this parsing error?
  5. I know this topic reverts to waaaay back in time, but I find annoying that (even with the units on my preferences defined as Metric) I see the travel bugs travelled distance in miles. Judging by the comments here, I also second the opinion that the date should be printed as ISO... yyyy/mm/dd... does anybody read this stuff?
  6. On March, 17, the portuguese geocacher community had its 2nd ever CITO event, on the Arrábida park, near the Cave of Santa Margarida cache. The place is private property but it's been open to the public for years now, which has caused it to be vandalized and filled with all sorts of garbage: cans, bottles, old clothes, matresses... Most of us spent the whole morning searching for the infamous Six Feet Under geocache. The lunch didn't go as planned because we had to deal with some car problems, so there were a couple of unwanted clouds over us we're simply not used to. The cleaning up began about 4PM and we rocked, we simply turned the place over and did a hell of a cleaning job. A brief look on how it looked like before. It sure could use some cleaning. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. The outside, facing the ocean, also needed some care. This is the result of our hard work! The cleaning team: left side: clcortez, lynx pardinus, vera portelada, rifkinda, rifkind, vanessa, catarina_as_ferreira, btrodrigues right side: mantunes, pmateus21, pcardoso, david portelada (diving), sara and joaopedrogeraldo Feel free to drop by the event page for some logs (most of them are in portuguese, sorry) and photos. We've taken about 400 pictures all day long and if we could, we'd post them all.
