ew! who is that with Kiwi Gary... that's a SCARY pic!!!
From the logs, I reckon it must be Ken of zensunni.
Thanks to everyone who's helped out so far!

Inspired by the Philimore Clan's post, I've finally got round to developing the photos from the cache-cam in our Round Aylesbury Walk - Cowslip cache.
I've uploaded the photos onto Flickr and have managed a few names. If anybody else can put any remaining names to faces I'd really appreciate it! Feel free to add a comment to the photo (if you're a member) or just let me know.
Thankyou!!!

Nettles are still my chief nemesis though.
Well. If you insist on wearing sandals....
Mind you, I can't speak. I wear shorts till as late in the year as possible.
On topic, I've never been bitten by a spider, but I'd better not tell Mrs HF - she's scared enough of them already!
-
I think the Friends list in general is buggy, I never get any notifications of friends hiding or finding caches, etc.
Are you supposed to? I thought that was a future feature. If not, then I haven't ever got anything either!!
-
I've had exactly the same problem.
I logged a geocoin and a TB out of a cache using the WAP service.
Looking at my home page, each item doesn't say where I've retrieved them from.
Here's an example:

Found whilst playing on the rocks, Not a member of your club, swapped hairband for small notebook - Thank you - Dot (Aged 10)
Was that the small notebook with all the funny writing, stamps and stickers in? ...

We started caching in the winter, and loved it - no leaves on the trees, and it kept us nice and cool.
When summer came, we were completely unprepared for the searing heat (2006) and the NETTLES!
I much prefer caching in the winter. I also find it's the best time of year to set caches - as you know they won't be left uncovered by all the summer foliage dying away.

As some of you know, frisbees at events can be dangerous ;-)
Eh? Did somebody say my name?
I just noticed they do a smiley especially for Ian just after he's been hit by the frisbee...
-
And the sooner they are classified separately from a cache you can at least get a TB in the better.
Perhaps it's about time Groundspeak started selling 'micro travel bugs'? <ducks for cover>
I've got one in my bag at the moment - custom made - and I haven't found a micro in days - maybe it's cos I live in Bucks...
-
So does that mean we can start the whole GPS imperial/metric debate again?
(by the way - I use metres )

Always have a pencil on you for when the log is damp and a biro won't work
Always have a couple of spare stubby pencils so you can leave one in a cache that doesn't have one - saves the owner a maintenance trip
A leatherman so you can sharpen the pencils in the micros
I use my leatherman to chop pencils into pieces - and carry a pencil sharpener to create a mini pencil that'll fit any sized container!
I also carry in the car a small selection of cache boxes (and a few 35mm containers ). They don't cost much and you can really help out by replacing a worn out, leaky container for the owner.
-
I didn't do it! It wasn't me! You can't prove anything!
Well, maybe.
I was convinced the cache had gone - and when Paul asked if I had a replacement micro I was only too happy to oblige. We probably should have phoned - sorry Ali - I'll remember you for all those late-night PAFs in the future!!
So at the end of this - SP has to refind the cache, and I'm a 35mm container down.
But what's a micro between friends - you can keep it and redeploy it elsewhere!

It might just be enough to bring us out of hiding....

Anyone been off to look at the ads that we are talking about?
They're tiny! And very unobtrusive. I say fair enough - besides, without thinking I just clicked on one because it sounded interesting.... and I *never* click on ads.
It's great that we get to have our say, but Groundspeak don't have to listen to us. However much we like to think otherwise, *they* run the company and can do what they want. They've had a decency to listen to our moans/rants/suggestions before, but they don't have to!!

I passed by her and her ole man in their posh car the other day. They were in Pangbourne at the Falklands Memorial Chapel. Must have been six feet or so from her as our cars passed, I was so excited! I should get out more! Liane
I was filming at this event and forgot that I was in Cache Hopper territory. Didn't even have time to find any caches
-
Congratulations from the housefamily. Glad we could help out with a PAF!
-
Anyone else see this on Friday?
It was ok, but not as exciting as I thought it might be...
-
How about 'to be photographed with as many people as possible - pretending to use the phone'.
Then we could have a deadline to reach the final cache, but the real winner would be the one with the most photos?
And obviously we'd have to have a 1 photo per cacher rule.

Am I missing something? Do cache-setters not like new people to get in on their scene? Or could the truth be more mundane?
They're probably too busy out setting caches...!!
Seriously - welcome to the forums, and to the exclusive cache setting club
I think you'll find loads of people eager to give you advice on setting a cache right here. Also have a search though the forums for previous posts on the subject.
-
You Can - Just bookmark it. It has notes section right there for that purpose.......
But then you'd need a single bookmark for each of the caches you want add a note to. A good idea, but not particularly efficient.
I think it's a great idea - I have a series of caches each containing a code. If I had this feature I could store the info with each cache on the website, rather than having to keep an easily losable excel spreadsheet!
-
1500, eh? How did you find the time?!
Well done, Bob!
-
Congratulations! Nice one!
I hear you've got a new 'GPS' to celebrate....
-
Well done Nick. Now, does anyone have the map from Burial Mound squirreled away somewhere? If so, I'd be happy to adopt it. I'll just have to handle the extra workload
Cool! I already emailed Dan/Pid to ask if I could adopt this cache, but I'm happy for SP to look after it. I'm sure Mrs HF will be happy I don't have even *more* caches to maintain too!!
But if you're not that bothered, SP, I'll happily take it over. It's up to you.

Thanx, untill I get used to navigating I'l use OS and then switch to Lat/Long when i'm close.
I reckon you'll soon get tired of switching between the two! Remember you'll have to use lat/long for almost all multi-caches too. I'd recommend using lat/long, but what do I know - my GPS is set up for metres instead of feet!
Geocaching as it was...

Ah but you don't get the whole 'retro' forum design experience. Those were the days.... Web 1.0....
