  1. I am unsurveyed. The Blue Bow feels slighted.
  2. If all the answers are wrong, and it was obvious he hasn't done the work for the earthcache, I would do what you did, and delete the log. I've let a wrong answer or two slip by, but not all wrong answers, and just because he was there in the past doesn't mean he gets to log a cache...
  3. Whenever I plant a cache, it doesn't grow. Maybe I am trying to plant the wrong type of cache for the climate, but it doesn't seem to matter how much or how little I water it, nothing sprouts. According to the horticulture books, I should have a small swag-tree within two years, but... nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Do planted caches need a special type of fertilizer to grow in Nebraska? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!
  4. Black dog - at night. We felt terrible, but there was nothing we could do.
  5. Is plue like pi for blue bows? Plooie!
  6. BTW, there is a real gun discussion stemming from this thread over in OT. More like steaming. As in "pile of". Hey, it's got all the button pushings you'd expect. That makes it real in my book. Plue, there's pi.
  7. A bad joke about Signal and frog legs immediately sprang to mind when I read the title. I'll spare everyone.
  8. Mine came today, and it had a coin! I like the pathtag, too! Very cool!
  9. Not sure about the "unjust" part. I have to seperate myself from my disdain for power trails in general to formulate a reasoned response. Hopefully I can suceed: Mingled in with all the other speculation is the theory that a reviewer was directly involved in the creation of this series. Perhaps on the placement team? (I don't recall the details) I don't know BLM geocaching policies. Do they require explicit permission for all hides on their properties? If so, the hypothetical reviewer should have been aware of that. If not, (again judging by the speculation), it seems that many were placed on high tension power line supports. Even without the BLM permission issues, that should've raised red flags, as regards to the guideline addressing off-limit caches. "Caches near, on or under public structures deemed potential or possible targets for terrorist attacks." A reviewer should have been aware of that guideline. If a reviewer was part of the placement team, who incidentally claimed to have visited each and every one of these caches, it would prove difficult for them to claim ignorance. From the outside looking in, it appears that a reviewer aided in creating something of massive scale, that violated the very guidelines they were empowered to enforce. I think that warrants a bit of pummelling... with lemmings... dead ones. *wince* Touche, and good point. But we don't know the full story - it is still a lot of speculation, like you said. Let's hold off on the lemmings. They're out of fashion anyway... guinea pigs are all the rage today!
  10. Why must you be properly annoyed? Can't you be happy being just generally annoyed? <Bowing to the bow and hiding> Your post annoys me! But the Bow is pleased.
  11. Oh, yeah. Thanks for reminding me I missed one of the reasons I should be annoyed... Because people dared to enjoy themselves while doing the power trail?
  12. Slow down! I'm having trouble keeping up with what I should be properly annoyed about!! Because someone placed a power trail? Because they were mostly micros? Because it was used to set an unofficial record? Because it was used to set an official record? Because someone whined to the BLM and it was archived? Because a reviewer was involved in placing the caches? Because a reviewer was involved in approving the caches? Because it didn't last very long before someone whined to the BLM and it was archived? Honestly.. from my vantage point, the NGA is getting pummeled from all sides, rather unjustly. The caches are archived, no, it's not "the biggest black eye ever", so just let it go! Personally, I empathize with the people who did all the work, and all for nothing, now. They've got my sympathy!
  13. So to future cachers, while hunting the cache, be on the lookout for a violent alcoholic muggle with a 'physical/mental condition' living near GZ. Other than that the Cache is good to go! Cache on! Oh boy! This cache sounds like a blast! I think we need to petition for a new attribute...
  14. Must... resist... getting... banned... Don't worry... I got a band for you. or did you mean this kind?
  15. Having been there, and knowing the folks who put this trail out, I agree with the security issue. It seems that someone (who sleeps with a night light) got concerned that too many people were using the roads and visiting the towers, and contacted the power company and the BLM. BTW, you did not have to drive off-road anywhere on the trail. The maintenance roads went right to every tower. It's really too bad. It was a surreal experience doing that many caches (421) in one day. It got to be rather tedious, but the company was good and we actually smiled a lot. I actually think Glenn Beck mentioned the Trail of the Gods as a liberal plot to destroy American society, so his minions took appropriate action. <quickly editing out end-of-the-day, stress related overreaction.> Apologies!
  16. Bummer, because I know how much you respected me before now! I used to, yeah. And on owners that won't control their dogs, too, or so I've been told! Exactly. Of course there is always the option of avoiding the dog instead of murdering it. Which is the point of this thread. There ARE options available in most any aggressive situation. Avoiding the dog? Yeah, I guess the other people who lived on that street could stay in their houses all the time... or just drive. Walking down the street where they live (hey, I think that's a song!) - well, how dare they complain if they get bitten by a wild dog? They could have avoided it! (Except dogs tend to be mobile - it's the whole four-legs thing.) N.B. I'm not a dog person.
  17. It is still just speculation, but at least it is speculation based on something heard by someone that was there. I emailed a friend that is out there. Here is his reply: I emailed a friend that is out ther.... Wait. I don't have any friends!
  18. Spiders bigger than 50lbs aren't worth catching anyway They are so much better then micro spiders. I'm much rather find a big spider in the wood... er... wait a minute... actually, I think micro spiders are just fine!
  19. I'd respond to this thread, but I can't read it..
  20. Would have been interesting if this guy had run into the guy described in the other thread...
