  1. I am performing a little experiment that is just over a month old. I dropped 5 generic geocoins into a geocache all at once to see which would travel the furthest and which would disappear. So far, 4 of the coins have moved one of which was moved to a cache that was muggled. The one that has not been logged as moved I believe has been picked up but not logged. So out of 5 coins, 2 were lost within their first move. I'll keep ya posted.
  2. Argh. Merging is fine but there was a reason I started a new thread. PM sent.
  3. I just thought I'd note that I've seen some reselling of these around and I have no problem with that (free advertising if nothing else). Just realize that if you buy from a reseller there won't be any replacements or guarantees from me of any kind.
  4. School is starting, and being a student who enjoys making these coins and needs to buy books and pencils I'm ready for another round. You can get it with my slogan on it or anything up to 26 characters long (including spaces) all CAPS on the back of the coin. My geoname is on the edge. Hand poured, hammered, and finished specifically for each order and is (as far as I know) the only authorized customizable handmade geocoin. Prices, ordering, finishes and everything else you need to know is on my webpage at http://www.scavok.com/geocoin.php All shipping charges are fixed despite where they are going. These coins are lead-heavy so the shipping fees rarely cover the cost of mailing them anyway. I won't raise the price for your order if you are out of the country, but I wouldn't mind a couple extra bucks in the payment if you feel like being generous or if you have some sympathy for the one who will fill out all the customs forms at the PO... You can message me through the website or geocaching.com with any questions. I think the geocaching world needs more original items. No manufacturing here! This is the last round and sales won't be suspended again. When I'm out I'm out until (and IF) I come up with another handmade coin. Thanks All!

    Forum Question

I hope this is the proper place for this! Is there an FAQ for how to use these forums? Like how to edit posts or close threads that you have opened and the like... Or is anything like that only done by the mods? Thanks!
  6. I think mine is still the first to be authorized to personalized though! I've been wrong before (obviously) and would love to get my hands on other ones! So if they are out there let me know!
  7. Not to be negative but this isn't exactly true as the Delft Blue coin is hand-made and trackable. Maybe there were some more handmade coins before the Delft Blue? News to me! I asked about that after I was approved but TPTB must have forgotten about that one as well (: Maybe mine is the only metal one? Thanks a lot, now I have to change my tagline!
  8. Hit my limit again. Currently still 2 auctions going though, but that will be it for a while. Thanks everyone for your orders, you're gonna love them. I'll post again when I can take more (:
  9. I am approaching my limit on these again. There are a few auctions up but sales will close sometime tomorrow on my website. Get your orders in (:
  10. I've noticed lately that the surface shipping rates are only slightly lower now than the international flat rate envelopes, which is what I will be using now. Hopefully they don't raise the prices on those too much!
  11. Fantastic log. It will make finding it that much better I bet!
  12. The shipping cost rarely covers the actual cost anyway. These are lead-heavy so I ship as economical as possible. I won't charge extra for overseas, but if you want it quicker than standard rate (pretty slow), then a few extra bucks would be appreciated. Message me if you want special overseas shipping and I'll get back to you on the cost after I check it out myself.
  13. Ah yes, I knew I'd forget to say something in the opening post. It is my geoname inscribed on the edge
  14. After really giving my hands a bit of a rest I am happy to say that my coins are available for purchase again. Last time took my by surprise with how popular they were, but I have my system in better shape and I can't wait to pound some more out. This is the first (and currently only) authorized handmade geocoin on geocaching.com. It has a PC prefix and is trackable with its own anvil/coin icon . Diameter: ~2 in Thickness: ~.25 in Finish is brushed, made of lead (clear coated or epoxied for safe handling). Hand poured, hammered, and finished specifically for each order. You can visit www.SCAVOK.com to view prices which vary according to what you want on your coin. If you have questions, post them here or send me a message through geocaching.com or my website. The world needs some originality; I enjoy making these and I'm sure you will enjoy owning them. Thanks!
  15. I have put a few up on eBay. Just a limited few and only the basic unpersonalized ones. Sales should open again on May 1st.
  16. Yes, that was the issue. Couldn't quite figure it out but you can either email me or the website is working now.
  17. Oh, that makes sense. I though marking it was missing would still leave it as inventory in the cache though. Thanks!
  18. Just wanted to let everyone know that all U.S. orders were shipped out on Saturday and all international orders went out today (the automated weekend machine at the post office doesn't do international shipping, which I didn't know, so sorry about that!). I've also been told about an issue with activation code retrieval on my website. It'll be fixed soon. edit to note that most activation requests work, if not then just email me and I'll give it to you. I hope everyone likes them!
  19. Is there a way to deactivate a TB/coin or a fake virtual cache somewhere that I can dump them so they aren't in other's cache listings as inventory?
  20. Hey thanks for the pics, rasj! Glad you all like them! I was overwhelmed with the interest in the coins and had to actually disable sales on my website while I catch up. I'm doing my best here to get them out ASAP (: The rest *should* ship out this weekend at the very latest!
  21. To answer a question I've been asked, after you place your order, I will input the data into my database as soon as I can. It isn't automatic. I'll usually input the day's orders at the end of the day.
  22. Just so everyone who placed an order knows, I have created the status query on my website. To find the status of your coin visit http://www.scavok.com/index.php and on the right side under "order status" enter the email address associated with your paypal account. Thank all, I'm glad to see so many people like them!
  23. The basic one is 9.99, if you want it personalized it is 9.99+1.50, epoxied 9.99+2.00, personalized & epoxied 9.99+3.00. visit http://www.scavok.com/geocoin.php You cn start an order to see your shipping charges and cancel it without an issue if you decide against it.
  24. Diameter ~2 inches (depends how hard I hammer it / how bad a day I've had) Thickness just under 1/4 inch
  25. After some emails and mis communications with Groundspeak I figured I'll just do it all out. Trackable with a Personal Coin prefix and a custom coin w/ anvil icon. You can get it with my slogan on it and a simple clear coat or have it customized to order. Send me an email or you can order them at Scavok.com I think the geocaching world needs more original items. No manufacturing here! Thanks all!
