  1. I do believe that it is over. The person I purchased it from had it on good authority that it is. The coins were meant to be gifts and charity coins and since so many ended up on eBay and the like, the creator decided not to continue it. Ooh!!! #1!!! How cool is that! Wow! Lucky you! CF30 Now I just need to get my hands on one of the gold finishes some how... (:
  2. I wish that was the case! Actually I received this as an item I bid on in the TNT auctions. I knew my chances for ever finding one and I figured it was a good enough cause to go broke over
  3. Jackpot today! Only two, but very special ones. I received the black nickel rainforest jewel version 1 that I won in a cointest Also the following #1 of the series:
  4. I'm looking for two specific items (well ok, one is a group of items...). My wife has cut me off until further notice on buying coins, but that doesn't mean I can't trade! Looking For: a 2005 compass rose coin (it still eludes me for some reason...) Willing to make & trade a copper & bronze pair of my personal coins Rainforest Jewel geocoin Version 1 set (I managed to win the BN finish but have none of the others) Willing to trade a full 3 coin set (lead, copper, bronze) of my handmade coins. My Coins: Edit to add pic
  5. Unfortunately making items individually trackable takes quite an investment. I learned it the hard way but finally bit the bullet on it. It is fortunate for them as well though, it keeps the originality up I believe. Anyone can buy a travel bug, but to have a true personal geocoin takes serious devotion, especially the few hand crafted ones.

    New Cointest

In order to keep my wife angry at me
  7. Generally not, though I guess if one were to ask for it I could work accordingly Last year was rough with the epoxy. I'm not sure why but (even with different types) some of the time the epoxy would only cure to 90%, too soft to not scratch and just hard enough to not be able to clean it off and the coin would be ruined. Way to many coins had to be done twice (or more) for me to offer it as a standard feature this time.
  8. Received a personal coin from OshnDoc and an AE geojelly 3. A little startled by the size difference
  9. Winners have been picked! I'll send out emails to them and if they accept the prize I"ll make a closing post, otherwise make another selection. Thanks all!
  10. I hadn't gotten a chance to post my thank you until now, and I don't know quite what to say other thank thank you sooo much! A heck of a surprise that I truly appreciate! tsun - it will take a heck of a bribe to pry it out of my hands!
  11. Well it doesn't necessarily have to be the poster's act being mentioned But hey, nothing wrong with boasting generosity either! I'm loving the stories, all. Keep em up
  12. Just a quick reply to add an image. Here is a good pic of the bronze coin with a finished matte patina. Click on it for a higher quality image.
  13. That is fantastic, getting coins BACK is almost always better than receiving them the first time, isn't it?! Good to hear it
  14. That little slogan of mine "Not all who wander are lost" comes from the author J.R.R. Tolkien. He is also the creator of the hobbits and the world they inhabit. Now in Hobbiton they celebrate birthdays a little different than we do. When one's birthday rolls around they give gifts, rather than receive them. Which in a rather large, but tight knit community means that almost every day a person can expect to receive a gift since it is almost always someone else's birthday. I have always loved that idealistic behavior and it just so happens to be my birthday. It also just so happens that I have a couple of my handmade coins to give away. They are the copper version, with a texture I experimented with in the beginning. It is sort of a rough-grainy texture on the faces rather than the hammer tone. They are the only two ever made. Who's to say I won't make more, but for now anyway they are two of a kind . There will be two winners, one will be randomly selected by post number and the other of my choosing. To have your post be eligible it needs to include the best story you have of pure unadulterated random generosity. Post as many times as you like, but each post needs to be a different story. Post them by 11:59:59PM MST on Sunday the 13th. That way two of you will have good news to start your Mondays off with .
  15. Alright! Got some frogs in the mail today
  16. ooo My birthday is on Thursday. It would be a fantastic gift to receive these then
  17. I just wanted to apologize to the few of you still awaiting your coins. While the holidays are busy times, it is no excuse. I've also had some personal things come up as of late and am behind in making the coins. The next ones will be made this Sunday and all the non-patina ones will ship on Monday or Tuesday. The patina ones will follow later in the week. Again, I'm sorry and a little embarrassed, but I will do my best to catch up ASAP! Let me know if you have any questions or have a desire to rant
  18. scavok edit to add: awwww edit to add: YaY 40 names this time?! Alright
  19. Sent an email offering a few of my handmade coins. I'd love to help too!
  20. If they can limit your account for no reason then PayPal falls short on ethics. These are not done for "no reason", it seems it is done for ANY reason. I've experience this too. PayPal is absolutely biased towards the buyer, and I have had my paypal account frozen/drained more than once. I've been a verified business account since a month after paypal came into existence, but it doesn't matter. A buyer who has been a member for 2 days will get their way over me (it has happened) I would rate my PayPal satisfaction at 80%. Unfortunately, it is as good as they come. tsun, I guess just be happy its only a couple thousand dollars over geocoins. It will come to you in time; at least it wasn't a big car sale or something
  21. I received the #1 of 200 of Tiki's first geocoin, (i believe its the first series anyway), the YAWP.
  22. Well I did it. All orders that were made by the Nov-29 deadline were finished and shipped this afternoon. All the other orders I currently have will be finished and shipped over the next week or so. Any orders made after this point will take a few weeks (you can consider them pre-orders for round #2). Once I receive enough, I will make another materials purchase in order to make them Thanks all, my thumbs hurt but I'm loving it
  23. I too am looking for a 2005 compass rose. Would be willing to buy, trade, or buy & trade for my personal coin(s) http://www.scavok.com/geocoin.php
