  4. We use...... Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) (GPX/LOC) - All in one application that allows you to manage GPX/LOC files, upload to your GPS, $20.00 And we use this to our Palm "CacheMate" http://www.smittyware.com/palm/cachemate/ $8.00 And she has a good little blog about it also. http://miragee.blogspot.com/ Been well worth it. Gene
  5. Are you checking the box to "Compress files into *.zip format (recommended)" I had the same problem at first also. Gene
  6. Snakes and Ladders was a micro when I did it. Sticks and Stones is another good one and is an ammo box! Sticks and Stones is "out of order". We were there on Sunday and there is a BIG oak tree that fell down right at WP3. This tree is (or was) truly massive. It must have very impressive when it fell. They've trimmed some of the crown so that you can get past but the original trail is blocked and the sign is gone. It's still doable but only if you can find a way to proceed without WP3 (a little bird told us what we needed to know... ) Bummer! Then Camouflage Experiment or Bingo are two other good ones up there too! I've already done both of those caches........Kind of wanted to do something new. Agreed, both of those caches would be good caches though. Peut-être vous devriez jeter un coup d'oeil chez Mont-Saint-Michel… Mont-Saint-Michel one word..... ohmygosh! Yup...this would be the perfect cache to put it in......however, I would need some *serious* lifelines/assistance in order to put it out there.... - or Flagman? Wanna put it out there for me? Vous pouvez louer un bateau sortez dans le lac Hodges!! Au moins nous savons que la jeep serait sûre là ! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! He's trying to Woooo You with that there row-mantic leango
  7. Good choice. Now we gotta work on Jahoadi and John. KIDDING! . I don't know why I really like this one. This is too much fun, but I thnk I better stop before I get in trouble. I love them all..If we could put a GPS in John's hand on the 1st one it would definitely be my first choice!!! ! Harmon!!!!
  8. So are we still going to attempt this one tonight? Anybody else interested in grabbing a few caches before meeting up for BBG? I overslept and missed the outing earlier We didn't make it out of the canyon on time to get over there. I think I broke my legs also. Did anyone end up trying for it? I am also willing to give out my cell number if someone ever wants to meet the group (if I am with them). I would have given DaMores a call this afternoon but didn't have his number.... Anything happening Sunday? TA Laundry.

No one showd up....No problems. We started the trek...Made it to the first bend. We were just about to cross when my boy was taken right off the ledge . He had his back to the waves.( Huge Mistake) Well not wanting to be the 6 oclock story. I told our group to turn around and head back. For future GTGs. My numbers is 619-760-3207. See yous on the trail. Gene
  10. I think we may be picking the wrong day to do this. Read this log: First time we went at a low tide of 2ft........... 2 ft is not low tide by-the-way. Tried swimming there but the waves crashing against the rocks causing death and dismemberment soon de-railed us. So round 2. Went at -1.8ft. Eazy peazy. Had fun scaring all the crabs all the way there. Anyhow LT is around 6PM but it isn't that much higher at 5PM plus it's going out: The next weekend that has a lower tide is Septenber 9th: Maybe we should wait? What do you guys think? We'll be there to at least look.
  11. Hey! Maybe we need an event just for Harmon....a kind of 'bake - off' dessert event. Actually, it would be kind of fun. Hey, you know what I'd really like to do? Say wha'? I feel like makin' a cake Ooh wah what kind of cake do you want? Umm, how about ... pineapple upside-down cake? ... Yea, uh huh. I swear. You got a pan the right size? A pan? It says in this cookbook it takes a long time to rise. I read that. Now, beware. Let's get this thing in the oven. (Honk if you can name the group.) HONK!!!!!! B52s
  12. Sounds like a plan but we might not get there until closer to 4:30PM. Cool, We'll be there.
  13. Don't do it...... Trust him like you would one of your "professors"
  14. Honestly....we're not that bad. DaMoores...tell me you didn't have a good time though. If I said any thing other a Great time I would be lieing
  15. The kids want to hit the Pt Loma caches in the morning and have lunch at the fish market. How about meeting up for BBG at the posted starting point at 1600? We have a new cacher with us. She got her first cache in Hawaii with Heidi, Shes Hooked now. Gene
  16. Low tide is at 5PM. The water is currently 74 degrees + and we have bathing suits, GPSs and ziplock bags! Really??? It's a go???? Which day? Sad turd day. So who wants to DO IT?! We are in for Sad turd day!!!!!!! What time and where to hook up? Other caches planed?
  17. I thought BBG was out because of positive tides and the times of low tides. Or do I think too much ?
  18. Hi Mandi Welcome to San Diego. We sometimes get together to grab a few caches. Your profile says we, Is it a multiple personalty thing? We wouldn't want to offend one of them by not inviting them too. What part of San Diego? We're doing Pt. Loma and the bay area this week end.
  19. What do you have in mind? Just putting a group togather or looking for somthing this weekend? We'er game. Not from Esc. but we can drive. Oh! just a note. If Geogeeks say "Follow Me" Worry
  20. I'm San Diego here. You have alot of cachers up north. This other web site has some other folks also. http://www.socalgeocachers.com/ Watch the San Diego Event thread. We do alot of group caching. We are a really friendly group. Gene
  21. Justin Welcome back . I'm guessing your military. Thank you for doing what you do. What part of So Cal are you?
  22. Maybe we'll see you around Pt Loma - I'm heading out in a few to finish up Local Treasure for my 100th and grab a few others. RedStar (Tony) What day/time are you thinking?

  24. Beach Fires: Containers for beach fires are available at many beaches and available on a first come, first served basis. Fires are permitted between 5 a.m. and 12 a.m. midnight. The burning of rubbish is prohibited. Only wood, charcoal, or paper products may be used as fuel. Fuel for the fire may not exceed a height of more than twelve inches above the upper edge of the fire container. The fire must be extinguished before leaving the beach. Open beach fires outside containers are prohibited at all San Diego beaches. Regulations -- Standard San Diego beach regulations apply, with the following modifications: o Alcohol consumption is permitted in Mission Bay Park areas and on beaches from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., except for Santa Clara Place, where alcohol consumption is prohibited at all times. Alcohol consumption is prohibited in parking lots. o Overnight camping is prohibited and it is unlawful to park a vehicle in Mission Bay Park between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. daily. o Glass containers of any kind are not allowed in the park. o Dogs are allowed on Fiesta Island off leash at any time. In the summer, access to Fiesta Island after 10:00 PM is limited to pedestrians because the gate at the entrance to Fiesta Island is closed overnight. Dogs are allowed in the park on leash anywhere in Mission Bay Park before 9:00AM and after 6:00PM. Dogs are prohibited from being in the park between the hours of 9:00AM and 6:00PM. Park Rangers and park users ask that dog owners pick up after their dogs, and "leave only paw prints behind." Large Groups: The basic rule of thumb is that any gathering of over 75 people requires a permit from the Park and Recreation Department. A permit is also required for a wedding, water event, athletic event, voice and/or music amplification, or use of special setup equipment (such as an inflatable party jump, dunk tank, canopy, etc.) For permit information call Regional Parks at (619) 235-1169. http://www.sandiego.gov/lifeguards/beaches/mbay.shtml Still enough left to have fun.
