Thanks for the update!

It would be nice if someone from Groundspeak could acknowledge the problems, and let us know what's happening

This is perfectly normal on days with souvenirs. And now we have two souvenir days. Guess we just have to wait...

Cache translation from English to Norsk
thomfre replied to Ogima's topic in Scandinavia and Baltic countries
I don't get how you even got that published, the guidelines require the description to have the local language. But it looks like a nice earthcache! I will forward your request to the Norwegian earthcache group, and if nobody can help you, I can do it myself when I find some spare time -
Geocaching.com stores images in Amazon S3, and once the object is deleted there, it's gone. So since the image is still there after deleting it from the gallery, geocaching.com clearly doesn't delete objects in S3. So it should stay there as long as Groundspeak keeps paying Amazon... Edit: I know some people upload photos of the log to archived caches/events. At least they did until now...

Lots of great changes But can you please consider adding back the related web page field? I've seen that used (and used myself) for mystery caches many times...

Feature Request: Add retrieving drafts to API
thomfre replied to GManSan's topic in Authorized Developer applications (API)
Not a perfect solution, but maybe this can help you? https://thomfre.net/en/tech/export-logs-from-drafts-on-geocaching-com/ -
The new version doesn't seem to accept line breaks. They are all removed when the message is sent, making my beautiful earthcache answers just look like a mess. Hopefully something that's easy to fix Edit: line breaks work if I enter them directly, but not if I copy from some other text editor. That used to work perfectly with the previous version.

Awesome! Other than this, I really like the recent changes! I only have one tiny suggestion right now, and that is to change "More" and "Less" to arrov icons, like the ones for collapsing/expanding the different sections. Since less is more, it's a bit confusing now (the programmers will get that joke)

The activity feed stopped working for me when I switched to showing activity from my friends. And now there's no way to switch back. I just get "We couldn't load latest activity. Refresh page to try again." Refreshing the page just gives me the same. By inspecting the network traffic in Chrome, I see that the server returns this: {"statusCode":500,"statusMessage":"Internal Server Error","errorMessage":"Failed to get geocaches; {\"message\":\"An error has occurred.\",\"exceptionMessage\":\"Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.\",\"exceptionType\":\"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException\",\"stackTrace\":\" at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.<>c.<ExecuteDbDataReaderAsync>b__167_0(Task`1 result)\\r\\n at System.Threading.Tasks.ContinuationResultTaskFromResultTask`2.InnerInvoke()\\r\\n at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute()\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ValidateEnd(Task task)\\r\\n at Dapper.SqlMapper.<QueryAsync>d__147`1.MoveNext() in D:\\\\Dev\\\\dapper-dot-net\\\\Dapper NET45\\\\SqlMapperAsync.cs:line 95\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at Geocaching.Detail.Data.GeocacheRepository.<GetUsersFoundGeocachesAsync>d__3.MoveNext() in E:\\\\TeamCity\\\\buildAgent\\\\work\\\\9f437b0eb3e933cd\\\\Geocaching.Detail\\\\Data\\\\GeocacheRepository.cs:line 137\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at Geocaching.Detail.CacheListBuilders.GenericGeocacheListBuilder.<LoadAccountSpecificDataAsync>d__18.MoveNext() in E:\\\\TeamCity\\\\buildAgent\\\\work\\\\9f437b0eb3e933cd\\\\Geocaching.Detail\\\\Builders\\\\GenericGeocacheListBuilder.cs:line 303\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at Groundspeak.Owin.Extensions.OwinContextExtensions.<TimeIt>d__3.MoveNext() in E:\\\\TeamCity\\\\buildAgent\\\\work\\\\78b6eec9e225f0ea\\\\Groundspeak.Owin\\\\Extensions\\\\OwinExtensions.cs:line 69\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ValidateEnd(Task task)\\r\\n at Geocaching.Detail.CacheListBuilders.GenericGeocacheListBuilder.<GetGeocachesAsync>d__11.MoveNext() in E:\\\\TeamCity\\\\buildAgent\\\\work\\\\9f437b0eb3e933cd\\\\Geocaching.Detail\\\\Builders\\\\GenericGeocacheListBuilder.cs:line 109\\r\\n--- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown ---\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task)\\r\\n at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ValidateEnd(Task task)\\r\\n at Geocaching.Detail.Controllers.DetailController.<Post>d__5.MoveNext() in E:\\\\TeamCity\\\\buildAgent\\\\work\\\\9f437b0eb3e933cd\\\\Geocaching.Detail\\\\Controllers\\\\DetailController.cs:line 95\",\"innerException\":{\"message\":\"An error has occurred.\",\"exceptionMessage\":\"The wait operation timed out\",\"exceptionType\":\"System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception\",\"stackTrace\":null}}","uri":"http://geocache-detail.sef.Groundspeak.biz/Geocache/Detail"} I'm guessing that I have too many friends, and/or too active friends, so there's too much data to load.

This is happening quite often now. Can we hope that this issue get fixed permanently, or should we just expect this to continue to happen?
