I will be flying in from Sydney to Fiji on Monday June 23, 2008. We are staying in Nadi and Yasawa (Barefoot Island). How far are any of the caches from that area? Once I know the hotel names, I could better tell exactly where I will be. I need to hit at least one of the seven caches (I would love the web cam cache!)

Aww crap. My iQue 3600 has no satellites at all - it constantly says, "Acquiring Satellites" and no bars at all. I could be standing in an open field, or driving on a perfect sunny day. I do see the satellite numbers moving, but NO bars at the bottom. I have the antennae at 45% and hehe, fully erect at 90%, and this makes no difference.
Do I have a busted machine, that I need to send to Garmin Camp, or can I fix it, somehow?
Any suggestions?

It seems there was an event recently in Georgia where one cacher picked up a whole bunch of bugs and dumped them into a Travel Bug Prison in Marietta. This prison has a one-for-one trade "rule", which means it could be quite some time before those bugs are released.
If you're in the area, I know my bug in there would prefer to not be trapped in a travel bug prison, and I'm sure most of the others wouldn't either.
You are in idiot.
First off, it's called "Ye Olde Travel Bug MOTEL", not to be confused with a prison.
Dude, all you had to do is to email myself or the other owner and tell us (or in your case, cry to us) about your TB. We would have moved it immediately as not to taint all the other travel bugs in the motel. You know, we don't want them to get sissified neither.
The motel is conveniently located 3 miles off of I-75 that runs all the way from Florida the Canadian border and gets hit quite often. My cache, my rules, my way. I can do what I like. And in the great words of Lesley Gore, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to."
Now that you brought negative attention to the motel, I wish I had your TB. I would take real good care of it. Yea, uh-huh. Read all the previous logs... people love the motel and think it is great.
Next time, THINK before you speak. Read this and take from it what you want. Maybe you can think of your stupidity while you search for your 48th cache.

ya, know, this is like looking a gifted horse in the mouth. you (and you know who i am referring to) should be ashamed of yourself for bringing it to this level and trying to create something that is not there.
i try and bring some fun to the table and have a contest to win coins and other stuff. did anyone else offer to do this? no, i think not. so you ask why i didnt announce who donated what coin(s)? 3 reasons for you:
#1 - it was none of your business. you want to know the inside scoop? have your own contest.
#2 - some people didnt want to be mentioned for fear of being asked for donations from others.
#3 - nine (9) of the coins WERE MINE that i donated out of my own personal coin collection, cause a lot of people promised to send in and never did. should i list those names of people too, so you can smear their names?
i am closing this thread as i am done with it and so should you. move one. go caching. i contacted the geocacher who won it and in turn, hopefully he will contact moun10bike. go outside people. go cache.
if you want to speculate anything, go ahead. but i refuse to have my good name schmeared by people who dont know me.

there really is no mystery to be had here, folks. its really very simple.
the contestant winner (who has asked me not to identify his geonick since this "news" broke) won this coin through one of the many AI contests i had during the season. i put it in the mail and thats that. he let me know he received it, and my job was done.
i can not, nor will i ever take responsibility for someone elses actions. what and why this person parted with this coin, was his doing and i did not ask. heck, i didnt even know any of this until it surfaced on ebay.
how it got to where it is now (new jersey?), i do not know.

)This is OT, but PM me if you need any advice on the laptop. The new MacBooks are worth taking a look at -- escpecially now that you can dual-boot them between OSX and XP.

I will be flying in from Auckland on Monday June 16, 2008 and staying in Sydney until the 18th and then to Canberra to the 21st. I am looking for a travel guide that will help me find at least one cache, preferably a cache big enough to drop travel bugs off and maybe take some back stateside.
