  1. I check more or less monthly. Hasn't been an update for the 60CSx for quite some time. As far as I'm concerned the 60CSx doesn't need changes except it would be nice if they adopted the Magellan feature where you can store and access multiple waypoint loads as named files on the expansion memory card. Also I recently checked and found an update for Garmin MapSource City Navi- gator North America. The new version is 6.14.1, and it changes the look and performance of MapSource quite a bit. Of course this update picked up some newborn streets and points of interest. A downside effect of this update is that map zooming and panning is notably slower. One thing I truly appreciate about MapSource is the "View/View in Google Earth" Menu feature. With the "Street View" Layers option checked I've been able to spot hidey holes before leaving the house. Sure makes it nice to have a visual look at a hide before heading out, especially on remote trails. It amazes me to see how many streets and even dirt roads have been photographed worldwide with 360-degree and still cameras. My Google Earth membership sure is worth the twenty-dollar membership. Life is good, Harmon I was really excited to see the update, as I hoped it would include some of the newer streets. When I installed it the icons are HUGE on my maps, and I lost the labels. I could get these by scrolling over the icons, but as I don't carry my laptop in the field, it's not very useful. I couldn't find a way around it, so I ended up uninstalling everything, and putting the original maps back in. Somehow in the process I've lost the "Show in Google Earth" capability, which was always really helpful for viewing my day's caching plan, especially when I'm going on trails. I'm not that computer savvy, so if you have any suggestions I'd be really grateful! Linda/The Lost Clan
  2. Congratulations to Silver Horde on 1000 finds! It has been so enlightening to have a 7-year geocaching veteran and avid birdwatcher as part of our Tuesday crew! Thanks for the fun times, and here's to many more! (I don't know how to add a picture, but here's a link to her log for #1000: 1000 for Silver Horde )
  3. We talking caches, or his age? Sorry Harmon, couldn't resist. You da man, I only wish I could hike the places you do if I ever approach your young age. way to go Harmon 4000 That is AMAZING!! You go Harmon? Need another rest stop now? Congrats! Thanks all, I appreciate your support. Jodi's Rest Stop for Harmon was almost my last find. Fell face down into a pile of rocks from a stable standing position. I suspect that my fall was Janie's fault but I can't prove it. I've been saving #4,000 until Sandy is able to be with me. Thing is that she spent the past week in Arizona with her mother and her sisters. Imagine ... that close but no cigar until she returned. Maybe today with Sandy but certainly not on a mountain-top due to her rebuilt big toe that's coming along nicely but still mending. Finally I owe most of my find-count to the Geobabes and since those days to my super hiking pal Janie of Splashette fame. Janie badgered me up more mountain trails than I can recall. My final push toward 4,000 included Guatay Mountain, Mt. Wood- son, Mt. Miguel, Sweetwater Reservoir, north of the fifty-two, and most recently Barber Road. Thank you all for the many hides on county power trails. My only regret is that 4,000 finds aren't even half of what is respectable in San Diego County. I suppose that tagging along behind Geocaching super-stars is the best that an old man can hope for. Your pal, Harmon p.s. I've started a list of local Geocachers that haven't expressed congratulations for my amazing feet. Oops, make that feat. Congratulations Harmon!!! Way to go! We think 4000 is very respectable! (Now don't forget to cross our name off that list...) Foothills Drifter ... Check The Fat Cats ....... Check Me too, me too! Congratulations, Harmon! You are a great role model for all those folks that say they're too old for this game! Here's to your next 1000! P.S. Where's the picture with the funny cool hat this time?
  4. For those of you not going to the Big Bear events, we have one coming up in Poway on August 16th. Same place, different location - GC1EG0F Hope you can make it!
  5. I think the whole point is that it's placed in a cache like this so you have to earn the privilege of nominating the cacher on the next card. I wouldn't have it any other way!
  6. Happy Birthday to Jane of Silver Horde! And congratulations on finding 55 caches on her birthday!

  15. Yep! http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/3a6bdd...2b1dd92a49d.jpg From this log: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...bf-72b1dd92a49d Thanks, the picture turned out pretty good. The GW6 page has so many pictures its hard to find the one you want.
