and they did with earlier souvenirs - the fact they excluded them from this particular set of souvenirs does not mean they broke any promises.

I read the FAQ stating that AdLabs would be counted throughout the campaign as a promise.

  2. From the launch FAQ:

Adventure Lab® app: The challenge and your souvenirs are not accessible in the Adventure Lab app at this time, however finding Adventure Locations will count toward earning souvenirs for the campaign.

So why were they belatedly excluded from the final challenge?

  3. Could this "THE LEADERBOARD WILL RESET TO ZERO ON MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2021 AT NOON UTC. THE LEADERBOARD IS SUPPORTING THE MEMORY LANE SOUVENIR CHALLENGE AND WILL NOT REFRESH UNTIL IT ENDS." below the ime remainingg clock explain? Or am I misunderstanding?

  4. I've just noticed this problem after running a PQ to check the caches I visited at the weekend and in particular the 4 we dropped TBs in. So adding another request for the missing information to be restored. How are we to report missing TBs to owners if we don't know there's supposed to be any in the cache?

I don't think that thought has been given to visually impaired users in this change, as the icon within the circle cannot be differentiated. I am one such affected user.

You won't stand a chance of posting a log on the website. Even fully sighted people will struggle with the ultra-small font size now offered. Ever since graphic UI came in about 20 years ago developers have always had monitors much larger than most users and never think what looks good on a 32" desktop screen is useless on a 10" notepad or tablet.

  6. Be nice to have a SideTracked, Motorway Mayhem, etc., attribute as well...

Too many and a lot of them regional.

Probably the best/easiest way is GSAK.

Find the existing PQs/Bookmarks, download them and make your own PQ's.

There is a new, independent series in the Republic of Ireland.

As there are now between 40 and 60 CM added every week to the UK series it is quite a task to keep up-to-date and Andy33's bookmarks are inevitably updated in arrears - usually on Fridays. One cacher is helpfully keeping a GSAK database based on them which he republishes as a single PQ. Sorry, I can't give you a link as I keep my own GSAK database. If you join the Church Micro group on facebook it will be mentioned there fairly regularly.

  7. I prefer c:geo to the other apps I've tried. I use it on an old phone with no SIM so that extends the battery life. What really soaks up battery, and data, is using on-line Google Maps which is the default. Switching to Open Street Maps extends the battery life considerably. You can also buy 3 or more spare batteries for about £100 - cheaper than a GPS and good to have, anyway, in case of emergency.

  8. Well it seems to happen every few months. 2 pocket queries run immediately, the other 3 have not run after 30 minutes. Is it just me or are others having an issue?

Happened to me, too. First and fifth ran. I waited a while unchecked them and rechecked and they worked. It's an improvement on last year when the PQ ran but the results disappeared.

  9. I am considering trying the 3-months of premium membership (for £7.99), but don't know whether it is suitable for me or not.

Firstly, I am not a 'serious' geocacher: although I am become increasingly interested in geocaching, it is still a sort of bi-weekly thing; I do not go geocaching every day.

Secondly, the paperless geocaching perks that come with a premium membership would be irrelevant to me, as my GPSr (a Garmin eTrex H) does not support paperless geocaching. I use C:geo on my smartphone to store geocache data, then input the coordinates into my GPSr when I'm out and about. C:geo also allows the batch downloading of geocaches as a basic member, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is another perk of a geocaching premium membership.

However, I am very interested in viewing my geocaching statistics, and access to premium-only geocaches. Does it sound like a 3-month premium membership is for me, or should I stick with a basic membership for now and see if I become more serious about geocaching? Thanks.

Be a little careful with batch downloading into c:geo, I think (although I could be wrong) that kind of thing is against the site's terms of use.

Pocket queries are the primary benefit of premium membership. There are others but unless you're the kind of person who is going to rush out the moment you get a new "cache published" email they aren't going to be of as much use as pocket queries.

If you want to try it why not get a 3-month membership and see if you miss it when it's gone?

You can load PQ into c:geo and it works offline with static maps just like any paperless GPSr so used this way doesn't break any rules.

  10. If you've dropped the TBs then they are in the cache and not in your possession unless you've done it the old way by dropping then re-retrieving. You'll see on old logs "dipping" as visiting is a fairly recent feature. What does your inventory say you have?

  11. When you add a personal note to a page that has changed since loaded [or the browser] cache has expired it is rejected and an error message suggest trying again after refreshing the page. This is good. When you try to use the corrected coordinates feature in the same circumstances the Accept button refuses to work and no reason is given. This is puzzling and bad.
