Does everyone have their Waymarking Sticker Seekers sticker ready?

I have ordered and received 30 Waymark Stickers, They will be available for $1.00 each.

they may still need to make their waymark, if they haven't already done so.

Does everyone have their Waymarking Sticker Seekers sticker ready?  If you don't have one, I have a friend who knows someone who works with someone who bought extras from Shop Geocaching.

My pin is on the front of my hat, my stickers are on my notebooks. All 3 will be with me.

Is there going to  be wifi available at the convention?

If you visit it after the scavenger hunt was created.

so no  one else could ever finish that scavenger hunt, except me. And if you made a scavener hunt that included Bethany, it could include that waymark and then you couldn't finish your own scavenger hunt. What a crock.

" First Ever Waymarkers Gathering ", GC7HX8J has been published. Please visit the web page and post a "Will Attend"

5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 11, J & J Pizza, Denton, TX. We can stay as late as 8:00 pm, They close at that time.

ALSO Please visit the web page and post a "Will Attend" at the web page below. Let them know you are coming for the Waymarkers table and Event. That will let them know that we are boosting their attendance numbers and maybe we can get a Waymarkers Meet and Greet each year.

Every QT gas station is a safe place FYI :) Next time I am in OK I will make sure to stop in a few QTs

No QTs around OK City. The other weekend we drove thru Tulsa on the way to Missouri and did see some QTs, with Safe Place signs. But according to the Safe Place web site, there are none. (I should have stopped and waymarked one to get a Safe Place in my state.)

  6. I have a question about Scavenger Hunts. I just made one centered on my home. It includes my ISS Sighting waymark. How would someone "visit" this? Just wait for another visible ISS pass and see it? And another had me with Sticker and Pin Seeker. How would I complete this?

I was looking at your profile to see how scavenger hunts were posted on your profile... Have you completed any?

We have looked at the scavenger hunts a few times, however the closest one is about 800 miles from us and most of the area is already waymarked.

When I saw the date of your first waymark I thought it looked familiar

I've looked at the scavenger hunts around here. It seems that they have too many entries in the same or very similar categories. I would rather go on more of a Way Tour.

We may have started at almost the same time, but someone has been slacking, or someone has been really busy!  ;-)

If you are going to Denton, we could do one together.

Well.....if you are working on scavenger hunts, you have to ignore that message.   Anything included in a scavenger hunt MUST be visited after the hunt was created, meaning you very well may have to visit a waymark a second or third time.  You CAN exclude any waymarks you have created and/or already visited, but in SOME instances that might mean there's nothing left to visit.

and if I decide to do one of Max & 99's scavenger hunts, even if they selected not to use any of their waymarks, it could definitely have one or more of mine. And then I'd have to visit one of my own.

    Ditto.

I looked at them several times, but it never turned out to be something that I'd want to do.  I had other ideas in mind for something called a Scavenger Hunt, but what Groundspeak decided on wasn't the same as any of my ideas.

when I saw Scavenger Hunt, I was thinking more like a Lucky 7 but with a larger footprint. Get maybe 3 categories from each department within 25 miles. You would have to find new waymarks in that area.

Scavenger Hunt as it is now seems more like a Waymark Tour.

    LOL

I will do my best to have a Texas Spring Break, but some of the other Blasterz are looking at Denver.

I sure hope you can make it. You've been kind of a mentor since I started Waymarking. Our paths have crossed many times, only years apart, and you have givien great advice on my waymarks you have seen. I am hoping to actually meet.

Is there a cost associated with going to the existing event where your table is?  If so, being Scottish, I would like to avoid paying a fee just to get all of us together at the same time; if possible.  (We could just go with the restaurant meet thing and get something for our bucks.)   If the event is free, we could meet at the table and go from there.

basic sign-up is free. they have many other options (where you get stuff to do geocaching) for $$.

I was thinking -- we could make a waymark in Superlatives of "Largest Waymarking Meeting in Texas". Maybe meet at the courthouse (or some other established waymark) and all visit that waymark at the same time, too.

  12. I sure hope Groundspeak monitors these threads.

I will not buy a Premium membership to Groundspeak. I would buy a Premium Membership to Waymarking, with the caveat that the money would go to Waymarking. I don't do Geocaching. I don't want to provide money to upgrade their game while my game is overlooked. For those that do both games, GS could easily make the second membership $5. Make everyone happy. Then, if there aren't enough Waymarking members to pay for whatever upgrades are wanted/needed, then GS can explain it.

Lately I took a photo of this cross:

The category Churchyard Crosses wants "free standing crosses" that are "NOT attached to a church", so it wouldn't qualify there.

The category Christian Crosses also wants a "free standing monument". So, any idea where I can list this one?

    statues of religious figures

  14. I happen to know that there are no Safe Place Havens in Oklahoma anymore. There are some in Texas, even around Denton. So if people need to fill that grid, they can do their homework and find one of the Safe Places to Waymark. I think I need a visit, so that would be doable.

Also, Kroger Supermarkets. Visit Winstar Casino 40 miles north, no one has waymarked the border crossing on I-35
