  1. What I would like to have is a pendant with the TB bug image - basically for the same principle as having a tattoo but less painful or permanent. I tend to wear gold jewelry so I would like it to match with that. I wouldn't want it to be as big as the dog tag.

Does anyone make these? I have searched but so far no joy.

I think that they would be a great gift for a cacher.

If I looked at getting one made up would I need to get permission for the use of the TB logo? This doesn't seem to be required for those getting tattoos.

You can get one in the smaller shape of a ID Dog Tag or .75 inch Star if you contact GxPROXY.com. We have them at events and by email requests.

  2. NEAT! :yikes:

I got a package too! :anicute: Pretty Silver envelope and pretty much knew it was my lucky day. Took it home to show the Wifey what a mystery coin is all about (although she already knows :anibad: ) Loved getting a Mystery coin once again, so whoever sent it...THANK YOU :)

I took it out caching so we stopped at a few places for a photo op

So thanks so much for thinking of me and persuing the spirit of Kwanza...I think it held out a day or 2 later for me and truly represents a feast of gifts for us all :)

You get my vote for most original pictures and adventures.....congrats.

  3. If you purchased any of the GeoWoodstock 9 event coins we still have almost 800 matching Proxy Stunt Double coins. These were to be matched to the purchased coin and given FREE OF CHARGE to the cacher.

We made the Proxy coins for all of the event coins.

Please let us know if you did not receive yours as we would like to clear space on the shelves...we have them for the coins in the plaques as well.

Just send me a PM and we will be happy to drop it in a cache or bring it to FL this summer for you to pick up.

    Tell your friends....:)

  4. If any one knows this person from Prague, Praha 5 Czech Republic please have them email me as a large package of swag sent to him was returned as "DUVOD DOVOZU CELNI PROHLASENNI was on the outside of the package. Thanks for your help

  5. Received my order in yesterday's mail. Looks like I have a new favorite in my collection!

Absolutely amazing detail on this one! I was staring at it for the longest time; the layers, the colors...not to mention the 3D effect of the Waldgeist himself! So glad I was able to grab such an awesome coin! :D

Thanks! I just got mine, too :) Admittedly, I did have a mint sample, but I just got the chance to hold all three finishes and their proxies in hand for the first time. After more than a few minutes of consideration I finally put the shiny gold up on the wall rack (the only place Moun10girl lets me display my work downstairs anymore) which has limited space so I had to retire another coin from it's space :( but onward and upward and this one definitely was a step forward for me I hope. Looking forward to activating one now, too!

btw, I apologize if the icon wasn't showing up on newly activated ones... I just sent the icons to Groundspeak this morning. In all the excitement I completed them weeks ago, but completely forgot to submit them! sorry :o

The inventory at GxProxy.com is quickly being depleted so I hope that anyone still thinking about purchasing one or the set place their orders soon. We will be at the Going Coastal event in a couple of weeks and I am trying to save a few to show and sell there. Thanks everyone for the comments, I have to admit it turned out so much better than I could have hoped. Most are measuring 8.5+ mm thick (.34 inches) wow.

  6. Wouw, that looks/sounds very nice. I would love to have this next to my coin collection. But I just received a mail from a shop who's going to sell it, but they only ship to the US at this time  Will they become available for us over seas?

Yes, I got the same mail. Without reading it I clicked the Link and ordered one. After that I read not for intérnational shipping

Sorry TMA for causing additional work but WHY no shipping outside USA????

There are a number of stores that will be shipping to International countries, we at GxPROXY will ship anywhere in the world...we will go live with sales in 19 minutes....

  7. I did factor in the cost for the engraving packages. Those coins are $4.50 each when you order 100 of them. Even with the cost of shipping it still comes out to be about $5.22 a coin. Your sale price is quite expensive compared to other coins that have enamels/glow/and design work, etc. put into them.

Please remember that when a minted coin is sold the person/company selling them make more than what mo pirate is making in profit. He also has to advertise, pay for the packaging material and his time. Plus he also paid an artist to create his design.

We have had a number of cachers create their own trackable coins and then sell them with the average price being $8-10. The detail which the laser allows is incredible and extremely fine lines show in full detail.

Each person is allowed to make a decision based on their preferences to the design etc. as some of the coins we have made are in great demand due to the intricate design while others prefer the message of the coin. To each his own...

Thanks Beverly for the explanation. I don't remember if the trackable price was included or on top of the production price but either way the profit is a lot less than that tank of gas you just bought! LOL

    Steve aka mo pirate

Please understand, I am not taking any side here, I simply want others to know that some coins end up in the sales bin for a reduced price while others sell out in minutes.

Each person has a concept of what they think a coin is worth, that does not mean that we all have to agree. We are proud to be able to create trackables at an affordable price and offer them with no minimum. It seems the majority of them are sent out on missions such as a race, some try to sell them.....to each his own.

  9. Funny you should mention that...

See Tracking Code Policy in the Help Center.

I hadn't seen that before but it looks like it's primarily for creating trackable geocoins. Although I've seen some trackable geocoins that look nothing like a "coin" it sounds like what the OP is looking for is the ability to create some other type of item (perhaps their own custom t-shirt design) and include a "official tracking code" on it. If one could just purchase a tracking code I imagine that almost any swag like item could be turned into a trackable item that is somewhat in between a geocoin and a travel bug. I also could see that it could create some confusion if someone found an item in a cache that did not have a travel bug attached to it, but it was actually trackable with an official tracking code.

There are a some companies like GxPROXY.com that will engrave a single item with a tracking code. As each code costs $1.50 you can expect to pay about $3.00, but at least it can be replaced if lost.

  10. here it is... I didn't realize there were 2 different ones on the site... this one is the mini tail tales. If the other is bigger I just might place another order!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the sizes going AWOL on us...you have a larger tag on its way to you...no charge, hope you enjoy hiving River "discovered". The small tag is approx. 1' x .75" and the larger one is almost 1.5" x 1" thanks dolfy for the heads up on this post.

  11. I'll let my local retailer know. He recently aquired a case of them.

All of them have way too squishy O-rings. He'll be glad to hear this.

    Thanx! :)

Wonder where he got them. Are they 4" x 2" like the Mighty Mega? It will say Mighty Mega on the bottom.

I imagine he got them from the same place you did.

"Mighty Mega" on one side, I think.

"Space Coast Geocaching Store" on the other.

He will have the replacement O-Rings in the next day or two so anyone who purchased he Mighty Mega there can get a replacement "Heavy Duty" O-Ring. Thanks for the heads up. We always want to provide the best quality products available.

In that case we sold them to him and will contact to see if he changed out the o-rings. Thanks for the heads up, if you know anyone with a problem have them contact support for a replacement.

  13. This is my favorite, as it is weather and critter proof.

If you swap out the entirely too soft O-ring, it'll stay weather proof. B)

If you haave purchased any with "whimpy" o-rings they will replace them free with the new Tough 4x's Thicker one...FYI

  14. ...a blurry shape of a coin's icon and tracking number...

Really? Having prepared quite a bit of the engraving art for that company I don't recall ever using a coin icon. I do know the quality of the image supplied is directly related to the quality than can be reproduced, but the image quality tends to be very good... (shown here at 4x magnification)

    sample.jpg

Their is some very fine surface texture that may make very fine detail hard to see, but you'd pretty much need a loop to spot it.

Here's a side by side comparison of both a geocoin and proxy after six weeks of side by side trashing in my pocket full of loose change, a pocket knife, money clip and assorted junk...

    coinvsproxy.jpg

A proxy that is tougher than a coin and has a clear image is not too bad an option for replacing an awol traveler I think.

Thanks for the explanations fox-and-the-hound, you are correct in saying we have never used a geocoin Icon on any Proxy. Have had a few with access to laser engraver say they were going to try it If it doesn't say GxPROXY.com on it - it is not from us. WE put our name on every Proxy we make as we are proud of them.

  15. There has been a request for Pink and Purple Racing Bugs so we are ordering the new materials and will let you know when they become available...

    Size info was also requested, they are 2.5" x 1.5" x 1/8".

Each comes with the GX Unique Icon and when we reach the 150 sold we will purchase a Racing Bug Icon from Groundspeak...

Create a team to race each other, another club or just see how fast it will travel from cache to cache...if it goes missing, replace it for $3.00.

    Never loose a traveler again.

  16. I use a Sharpie to write OFFICAL GEOCACHE on the outside of the cache container.

I also use Sharpies. No shipping needed. I write "Official Geocache Site. Please Do Not Disturb", as well as my moniker and the GC number.

You can purchase a custom or standard 8.5 x 12 STENCIL from GxPROXY.COM Just an FYI, they ship international.

  17. We kept listening to other cachers talk about the price of trackables and the fact that so many released go MIA that we finally decided to start a business so we could try to address some of the issues.

The customizable Racing Bug (priced at $5.99) and measuring 2.5 inches x 1.5 inches is our answer to a trackable capable of hitting the trails and if it ever goes MIA it can be replaced for $3.00
