  1. As a Premium Member, you can design a Pocket Query for this. "Have Travel Bugs" is one of the selection options in designing a query. If you've not used this feature before, you might want to read this. Or just go play with it works okay for many ;-) Trackable inventories are somewhat more acccurate now than they were just a few months back, as Geocaching.com did a site wide sweep of long unlogged trackables - removing them from cache inventories, and putting into an Unknown Location instead. T.D.M.22 is correct that just because a cache page shows inventory, that does not guarantee actual TBs. The more recent the drop, the higher the chances. And sometimes you'll find trackables in caches with nothing showing in inventory.
  2. It isn't necessary to post a log the cache at all. Though if the cache is not being visited much, you could Write Note and mention cache in good shape (assuming it is). Just use the tracking number to grab the coin.
  3. The trackable was retrieved before I had a chance to "drop" it to my new cache (I couldn't find away to do it while it was under review). You drop a trackable into an unpublished cache just as you would any other. Use a log to the cache page, and select the trackable from your inventory to drop with the log. Pre-publication, you can post Write Note and Reviewer Note logs to your own caches. Either will work.
  4. I received another email for another 3 Nov 2002 log on a locationless GC9876. https://coord.info/GL170T7 Like Delta68, this would evidently be coming from a bookmark list, not from a notification (though I appreciate there may be little to no difference from the coding side). To cerberus1 - when notifications were new, a Locationless could have all logs posted that are the basis of notifications EXCEPT publish: Found it Didn't find it Temporarily Disable Listing Enable Listing Write note Post Reviewer Note Update Coordinates Needs Archived Archive Unarchive Needs Maintenance Owner Maintenance Publish Listing I appreciate that most users set up only Publish notifications. The bulk of mine are for archive and retract.
  5. elsewhere I've seen that they're aware of this and working on it...
  6. I was just notified of a 3 Nov 2002 log on a Locationless. https://coord.info/GL17034 Have all the old logs been from 3 Nov 2002? seems like it...
  7. There's an archived Needs Maintenance log. 02/07/2016 #8 Ardres - De Gaulle needs maintenance mplc Perhaps the user realized they'd logged the wrong cache and archived this log. You can log an Owner Maintenance log to clear the the NM attribute
  8. They cannot "drop it" without first "grabbing" it. If they post Write Note logs, or no logs at all, which is what it sounds like, the TB will continue in the Inventory of the last cache where it was last properly logged. I'd offer them this link, How to Log trackables. If it's your trackable or your cache, you can Mark Missing the trackable. This will move it into an Unknown location. This will correct the inventory of the cache, and have NO impact on their logging, or on the mileage of the trackable. If they figure out how to use the tracking number to grab it, and then how to drop it - great. It will simply move on. If not, hopefully they will put it into a cache, and the next person to handle it can log it properly. Their mis-logging of it will be a small hiccup in the trackable history.
  9. The PQ file will come zipped (compressed). Your device may accept it that way, or you may need to unzip it before sending to your device.
  10. The update home coords module has been buggy for several days. It did just work for me. Try again some other time, perhaps? Also try clicking the "SEARCH" button to the right of the coords in the coordinate pane. That used to be an extra, unexpected but necessary step. I thought that had been eliminated, but it's what I did just now.
  11. Sure. If they're reviewed to that standard. ;-) Virts are submitted regularly. Now, all the time ("this is an 'email me' cache"). Most don't come close to meeting the "wow factor" guidelines that created the virts you enjoy, and that created such misery for hiders and reviewers: "your baby is ugly", "NO! NO! a thousand times NO!, my baby is beautiful". Back in the day, this forum was dominated by hiders complaining about not getting their virt published. Most of them are a beach, a view, a sign, a historical marker, a grave marker, (in Disney, they're a Hidden Mickey). Some seem to simply be a location where someone stopped and took some coords.
  12. Could be a traditional that needs to go out with the Field Puzzle attribute - or might be a Mystery. Not quite enough info to know.
  13. I went to Search (under the Play menu), and entered the coords of a cache you've found, which generated a list of cache, then sorted on Favorites. https://www.geocaching.com/play/search/@-32.888983,151.534867?origin=S+32%c2%b0+53.339+E+151%c2%b0+32.092&g=-1&sort=FavoritePoint&asc=False There are a couple of trading size caches at the top of the list that would likely work well.
  14. You have no cache pages written on Geocaching.com. Try working through the cache report form again. Be SURE on the last page to do two things: post a reviewer note, AND go to the BOTTOM OF the PAGE and click SAVE AND PREVIEW That you, "never got a message" suggests that you never saved the cache report. As soon as it's saved, an email is generated acknowledging that.
  15. The secret formula on Giga can be in the Help Center, here See point 8. Giga-Events must demonstrate that they will reach 5000 attendees before they will be upgraded from Mega-Event status. New events will be required to surpass 4000 Will Attend logs .... The secret formula on Mega can be found in the Help Center here See point 11. New events will be required to surpass 500 Will Attend logs before they are considered for Mega-Event status. Events with history will be evaluated based on a minimum of 300 Attended logs from the previous year as well as..... edit bad link
  16. To HarryDolphin on, "Can we/should we add more stars per state?" Can? sure. Should? up to the cache owner. No one owns the "star" as geoart. ------------------------- Re template. Without knowing the size of the area you're working with, or the cache types you might use, hard to say. Geoart only exists on the Geocaching.com map, and how recognizable it is depends on zoom, and how other caches near disturb the figure. A 5 point star could be created with as few as 10 points, 10 caches; 5 for the center pentagram, and 5 for the tip of each point. Wouldn't look like much at many zoom levels, but would be a star at some zoom levels. If you want to stick to a symmetrical figure, you'll want to add caches in groups of 10 (2 per side of star point; hence 10, 20, 30, etc caches per star. If you do something free hand, slanted, asymmetrical (which would be cool, and interesting) you'd be a liberty to use other numbers of caches. I'd stick with 5 pointed star for recognizability. Bigger art with more caches is clearer at more zoom levels, requires more physical caches, more space. Large figures require big cache empty areas - the blank canvas. In the eastern US, those blank canvas areas are often empty for a reason - either no geocaches allowed, or slow complex permit systems ;-) To be published on Geocaching.com, when using Mystery caches to create the art, the physical cache MUST be within 2 miles of the listing bogus coords!! Here's a link to the Geocaching.com map of a star in Florida, the standard 50 caches, for the 50 stars in 50 states series. Looks like a star at many zoom levels. The star is about .8 miles radius. The map default is zoom 14, and that's what I've linked Star map
  17. 06/21/2016 We5Downs posted a note for it Picked up Elsie today. Will drop it at another cache on our way home. If this the trackable in question, TB4JEF6 you never grabbed it. You posted a Note for It. It's still in the Inventory of a cache. It should NOT have shown up in your inventory based on a Write Note log, however. If it's some other trackable, please provide the reference number, thanks. If that IS the trackable in question, you need to Grab it, a different log from Write Note. You'll need the tracking code on the tag (not the reference number) for that log.
  18. I would assume not, as these attributes are added by staff (and sometimes by reviewers). There's simply no reason to do a "NOT" version of any of them. I know that there are none in the U.S.
  19. daveinoregon - I'd LOVE to see any recent example. PLEASE post TB page, or cache page, or both, thanks. I just noticed this on an unpublished listing myself, and staff fixed it. Ie, TB page said, TB in "Name of Cache" - "Name of Cache" had NO trackable inventory. No archived logs on either listing to explain the discrepancy. Edited to add that often archived logs will explain the discrepancy.
  20. Try clicking "stop loading", button, in the Firefox browser it's a small x to the right of the URL bar. The links on the page will be functional without all the logs loading (Most Reviewers routinely have very large numbers of logs. I rarely let them load.) There is a page that limits logs to the last 15 logs, and has the other links that you may want Your Geocaching Details https://www.geocaching.com/my/geocaches.aspx This link is at the top of your profile default page, it's Geocaches in this line: Quick View | Lists | Geocaches
  21. Please log your trackable into your cache prior to submitting the cache listing for review. You do that as you would for any other cache, use a Write Note log and look down at your Inventory and select "dropped off". It can also be dropped with a Post Reviewer Note log - a log type only available to players on unpublished caches.
  22. 9:53 AM (GMT) I confirm this problem. Unable to alter my home setting https://www.geocaching.com/account/settings/homelocation Windows machine, Firefox, Greasemonkey scripts off/on makes no difference. I see another thread about not being able to change email - that I'm not going to try ;-)
  23. Curious, I just adopted a multi-cache from my player Premium account to another Basic member account. The newly adopted cache page waypoints link works fine for the Basic Member, as does editing the waypoints. IN the past, one of my multi-caches was adopted by another player, who had no problems with the listing. Just an observation. If this is happening only with one cache, I think it could be a bug with the listing. If it's multiple listings, then I'm not sure... I'm running a Windows machine, and using a current version of Firefox. For testing, I turned off all Greasemonkey scripts.
  24. Unpublished caches will pass through the adoption utility. www.geocaching.com/adopt/ There may be circumstances where your status as a volunteer might win you permission, as well as simple awareness of a good location, that some other geocacher might not have. And if you are willing to provide a quality container as a gift, that can be helpful. The owner (adopter) needs to be known to whomever grants permission, the permission needs to attach to them. And they need to understand how to take new coordinates with an adequate device, in case the container needs to move, and how to edit (update) the listing. (However, my experience is that caches where the owner has no initial investment tend to be poorly/zero maintained.)
  25. I may have missed the intended humor in the "dogs not allowed attribute" question, given the number of reviewers who are dogs. But like T4 caches that will very likely exclude the wheelchair bound, this is a condition created by the world, not by the cache owner.
