  1. Very cool and there is a helmet coin too, isn't there? Those two together would make a very nice display and then add a pair of the Cache or Charge coins (hand cuffs). Oh my..... Again - nice.
  2. Coins which are artfully are nice. I am moving to non-round coins and ones with lots of detail. Metal doesn't matter as long as it compliments the colors/textures on the coin. Some colors lend themselves to Antique metals, some to polished, etc.....and then also, the coin itself may make a difference. A template of the coin shape may make a certain metal appealing and also a coin theme. As Dr.Neal said - please, tracking numbers which can be seen without a magnifier (no matter where their placement). Tis' awful getting old and being visually challenged. LOL Thanks for the cointest and thread.
  3. We activate all our coins and as long as it was adoptable to us we wouldn't have a problem with activated coins. Sometimes that is the only way we can get a coin we want. We have bought some that was activated and then we adopted it. Keeping the history is nice. Thumbs up on adoptions and keeping logs!
  4. Sincere condolences to the family. He sounded like a wonderful person from what was written about the development of this coin. Here is a link explaining the jAY miLLS 2007 Peronal Coin I always loved that lion and may the courage of the lion sustain his family during this loss.
  5. Thanks for the cointest and Congrads to the winners!
  6. Put out a night cache GC 1Z9WE - and for Halloween added an unactivated Geocoin.........and even put out chocolate at the trailhead. As of this post - no takers. Kind of a shame but that's ok. I will pull the coin tomorrow if not found (as it is Halloween specific) and will try it again next year. A busy time of year for all and I realize it.
  7. Last one - ATMouse - who is a fellow Red Crosser and has shared pins with me as well as coins. Thanks for the cointest!
  8. 4th nomination would be for Chief20R2 - who made a super cool Fire Department related coin, is ALWAYS willing to step up to the plate with help for a bunch of things and as I write is working on a giving project!
  9. 3rd nomination - Dr. Neal, who although a great collector, always has time and room in his day for everyone. He trades and buys - an all rounded geocoiner.
  10. Next I would nominate kayakerinme - who gave away many sets of 5 geocoins for a just a trade and they were beautiful coins.
  11. Looks like it's not closed so I will nominate - mousekakat - who started the who geocoin addy list............lest we forget.
  12. Did an unactivated coin drop tonight in my night cache - GC1Z9WE (Halloween Compass Rose Coin). I will do another one tomorrow night of another but different unactivated Halloween coin. Just asking for folks to activate and share - not to sell them. Happy Halloween everyone!
  13. It is beautiful! Is the snow glittery? It's a coin which makes you want to smile and feel good inside.

  15. A wonderful wooden token from Dr. Neal and the filler. My camera is broken so I can't take a photo. Thank you Dr. Neal for this very special addition to my SI collection. It really made my day. That is a very unique item for sure- nicely done and quality! Now, what I do with my Heinei is slide down the landscape if I fall which is often. But so far, I have been able to laugh and have fun about it. Oh, I dread when I break a bone. Thanks again my friend!
  16. Bummer to hear about the base commander...........urgh! Sorry to hear about this.
  17. Reading this - I just wonder - could this have been a group coin with a bunch of folks who like wanted (for example) red and blue buying those and then some who wanted (again an example) black and orange and so on. Just a thought.
  18. I am not sure how I would go about doing this. Does anyone have an idea of how I can find out how much it would cost to ship to Germany? You've got email. Check the weight of your package and then check the fee on line.
  19. WOW!!! Your new wooden nickel is fantastic once again!!!!! And as I saw... you kept the inside as a signature item for smaller caches!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! and thank you for the idea...I'll get a pair off to you as soon as I get some bubble mailers....Gatoulis asked me if I kept the cutouts from the coins...I will from now on, and thanks for the thought! Write Shop Robert had the same idea too! I do not remember where and when, but we mentioned that in some posts! We had the same idea!!! So, Credits goes to WSR too!!! In inner parts are fantastic too!!! I was afraid that they were braking during the cut.. I mean that you were cutting pieces to make the inner, but as I see, it comes out complete!!! they look so great!!!!! Super cute sig items Dr.N..........gotta love a dog!
  20. Thanksgiving - a time to reflect on all for which we are thankful - great family, good friends, a job, good health, - there is whiole list of things. Bascially - I am thankful I woke up this morning and could enjoy my family, friends and do what I wanted to do. Life is journey and we should be thankful for each day we are allowed to follow our dreams!
  21. My sincere condolsences on the loss of your grandmother. Oh, I remember the pangs and hurt when mine passeed. So here is my memory. My Grandmother was 90+ years old, too, when she passed and I was 27 years old and pregnant with my second child (Rebecca - "Francis Family"). Gram had already predicted I would have a girl - with blue eyes and fair hair. She was quite right. My grandmother was a tough lady. Her husband died in 1950, but, she maintained the farm they owned and kept the hired men employed. She lived until 1976 and a full life indeed! My grandmother was the best - cooking on a wood stove her whole life - and she taught me - challenge anyone? I can fry donuts with the best of you and cook beans to die for.........regretfully that old stove I learned on and used for many years stayed with the house we sold in 2002. Ganga, aka Grandmother, made the best stuff for me to take back to college every weekend (molasses cookies, yeast rolls with raisins, cinnamon, and icing, chocolate chip cookies, and more)...........and she was always ready to have my friends in her home. From a sliding party to whatever. I have the fondest memories of my Gram who lived less than a mile up the street, on a 90 acre farm with a pond, a great sliding hill and just a ton of love. Ganga was what I called her and thanks for the time to relive the memories! Thanks for the cointest too!
