  1. I am not sure about "Award Winning" but will you settle for simply scrumptious?

    SHRIMP NEWBURG

    Serves 4-6

    4 tablespoons butter

    1/2 onion, chopped

    1 clove garlic, chopped

    6 tablespoons flour

    3 cups milk

    4 tablespoons dry sherry

    Worcestershire sauce

    Salt and pepper

    Tabasco sauce

    1 pound shrimp, cooked

    1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms

3 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and chopped

    1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Melt butter; saute onion and garlic until tender.

    Add flour; mix well.

    Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.

Cook until sauce thickens; add sherry and seasonings to taste.

In a separate bowl, combine shrimp, mushrooms, eggs, and parsley.

Add sauce along with 1/4 cup cheese to shrimp mixture; mix well.

Pour mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish and top with remaining cheese.

    Dot with butter.

Bake 10 minutes, until slightly browned on top.

As a professional cook for a number of years, I do not make it a policy to share my deeply guarded recipes. But for you I will make an exception.

    PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

    1. Bake a cake (preferrably Pineapple)

    2. Turn it over

Now please be careful with whom you share this difficult recipe.

And if you really need one, I probably have a recipe for almost anything! hehehe

  4. Seems I have done more cache planning than hunting lately. It is hard enough for me to get around sometimes, and with this heat it is more than I can handle sometimes. But the last couple days have been so nice, I am in the mood to do some more hunting. Now where did I place that free time? Between planning a family pool party for next weekend and trying to prepare for vacation in a couple weeks, normal eveing obligations and that nasty time called WORK, I seem to meet myself coming and going. At least the good Lord is keeping me on top of things. Just wish He would give me more free time. hehehehe

Really hoping to do some cache hunting while in northern Wisconsin on vacation if we get the opportunity.

  6. Is there a common term in the new search where you can search for the locationless caches instead of getting all of the virtual caches?

I do like the new search tool and expect to be playing with it a lot.

  7. About the only complaint I have with the Companion and my Visor is the fact you can not get waypoints into or out of it other than manually. I know the stand alone GPSr units have that ability. And with the power of a PDA I am surprised that they have not gotten software yet to allow the convenience of manipulating the waypoints easily.

  8. Does the cover provide any security to holding the GPS module in place. The biggest problem I have had with mine when out caching was if I tried to set it somewhere, or place it in a pack or a box, and the module sometimes would work loose, causing a need to reset everything. ALso, is there a connection for a lanyard so it can be carried around the neck?

  9. I agree it would be nice to be able to get road maps with multiple waypoints listed. Usually what I will do before heading out for a waypoint hunt is to create a map for all of the ones I intend to hit by taking the individual maps of each waypoint and cut-n-paste them together for one big map. Takes a little time but it does help with organizing the travel path.

  10. You will also want to be careful that the caches you chose to take them to will not be ones where a large group would damage the environment to a sever extent. That many people stomping around a well hidden, off trail cache could leave a noticeable impression, not to mention drawing a lot of attention.

  11. I receive all my Pop*It notifications as individual emails and information has been flowing in as regular as clockwork.

    Anyone else in digest mode?

  12. I am not sure since I have not hidden a cache yet, but might the first person "watching" the cache be the person who posted it by an automatic process?

That would explain how you got a watcher so quickly and why they did not reply back.

  13. Don't feel too bad. The week of Memorial Day I "conveniently" was ill so I could stay home and catch up on reading and researching of caches and other waypoints of other games I am in. Printing maps and stuff like that. By the time I was healthy enough to go back to work I had a ton of prepared stuff for geo-caching and did not want to go to work!

  14. I believe the needs of the masses would be best served by creatin a new area for the locationless caches. Just because someone does not like them does not mean they should be dumped. If you dump locationless caches, then how long will it take me to campaign for dumping mountain caches because I do not like mountain climbing. Or how long before you dump multi-caches because someone does not like those. What about micro-caches? Someone doesn't like them, so we throw them out as well?

I can't believe this whole discussion has gotten so out of hand with a group of people who are supposed to be intelligent adults. This is not what I became a member for.

I will climb down from my soap box now.

  15. Does anyone know of a program or have an helpful solution to printing out a large map. I have a lot of maps that would be useful to use if I could print them out like the size of regular maps. But when I try to break things up to print on individual sheets of paper and try to tape them together I never seem to get the proportions right so that they align.

    Any good ideas?
