  1. Yep, that's what it does with 35 and 47 before the GPS acquires a correct almanac. I'd guess that the FAA is probably just testing them, it might not even be transmitting actual WAAS corrections. They're not scheduled to go active until near the end of the year according to the FAA site. http://gps.faa.gov/programs/index.htm , select WAAS then current news on the left.
  2. What direction and elevation was it roughly? The new WAAS signals are/will be on these two satellites, see which one matches the location in the sky better: http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/anikf1r.html http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/g15.html
  3. Over in the benchmark hunting forum I had sorted the topics in "ascending order" from "the beginning" when I noticed something rather odd: posts that used forum smilies have been duplicated. Thus you'll get two posts (and even two whole threads if the first post had a smiley) with the first just having, for example, blink in place of the one.
  4. A GPS with a heartrate monitor? You mean like this one? http://www.garmin.com/products/forerunner301/
  5. Try HTDP for all your NAD83 and WGS84 conversion needs. Since most, if not all, consumer GPSrs assume NAD83 is exactly the same as WGS84 you are probably better off just leaving it on WGS84 and doing the conversion with HTDP if you actually feel the need to get that extra meter or so of accuracy.
  6. Cool, the two I reported (HF1282 & HF1214) have been updated as well, with slightly more useful descriptions than the USPSQD's rather simplified "good" and "not found."
  7. Also check the speed filter setting in the marine settings page from main setup menu. It defaults to auto, but if you've changed it to something else wondering what it did (like I did,) the random drift of the GPS can cause the heading to change unpredicably, which can get really annoying when using track up.
  8. Item available January 10th., 2006. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...cmCat=CROSSSELL
  9. Sorry, wanted to sell GPS and City Select or GPS only, not City Select only.
  10. Yeah, I noticed the same when I got my Legend C (which is for sale if anyone's interested. ) The side buttons are also significantly stiffer compared to my B&W Legend. I suspect they used thicker rubber on the C models which made the click stick and buttons more durable but somewhat more difficult to use.
  11. Selling my eTrex Legend C GPS and City Select North America v7 map DVD. The GPS is in perfect condition, includes all packaged accessories and original box. City Select has been unlocked for this GPS and still has the second unlock available. I'm asking $250 US for both + shipping. $170 for GPS without City Select. 800x600 of above image. 800x600 of above image.
  12. They've moved the real-time GPS functions to a seperate freely downloadable program, nRoute.
  13. Go to the setup menu, marine, and check that speed filter is set to auto. If you set it to off it'll make the heading wobble around. It's also got a user setting that you can tweak. I changed it once without realizing what it did and couldn't figure out why it thought I was spinning around out of control.
  14. Another big advantage to the C is the processor speed: when set to track up the B&W Legend's map refresh rate can get pretty low with complex maps.
