  1. I only do Night time caches in rural areas using filtered light or IF gear. Use common sense in the aproach, noises off. I never have any problems with people because I don't go into areas that might bring the whole army down on my head like what happened to those kids. I'm sure they had fun with it though..

  2. I use the Men In Black memory zapper.

But most of the time it depends on who it is,if its kids I'll take it with me and return when the coast is clear. Usually I look like i'm having lunch drinking water and reading the log book, people think I'm just resting my bones sittin there while not looking suspicious. I like the more remote caches anyway..

  3. My sister lives in Whidbey Island. I checked her area and it is loaded with fun caches to find. Next time i'm there i'll bring my GPS. You can read the post here and figure out which GPS suits your needs, If for some reason you do like it (not likely) you can sell it here, resale value holds well. The sooner you get one the quicker you can find caches....

  5. Do you mean I can't use my chain saw while wearing a hocky mask? TIC

Really thats not what we're about. We leave no trace that we were ever there. The only thing we should cut down is the amount of trash in an area.

    My two cents..

  6. When the product manual states "up to X hours, they mean your mileage may very. I use NiMH batteries and have alkalines for backup because they have long shelf life. I save these for emergency use only so they stay fresh..My charger is able to use 12v power for those camping trips.....

  7. Wayne, Rattle snakes just want to be left alone, since they have the best camo in the world you have to look out for them. They can be found in rocky areas, in shade when hot or in the sun when its cool. Most people are bitten in the hands when they reach to pick up something (look before you go sticking your hands or feet in places you can't see), use a stick to make some noise first. Wear snake gators if you must when in grass cover in snake areas. Be prepared, the more you learn about them the more you will respect them. I worry more about two legged preditors....

  8. On units with electronic compasses and altimeters, go to "set up" and turn off altimeter (and or compass) it should improve run times. It's a good idea to use NiMH batteries and carry spares in your carry pack whatever that may be..

  9. The Rino 110 is the same price as the Venture and the 120 matches the Legend in price, Rinos also use a quad helix ant. My frs radios are the 10-22

Bellsouth and i'm on a 800' hill my buddy up 400'.

Line of sight is a must for this to happen. Back to the Rinos, I preordered mine from TV NAV.com,, got them for 215.00 each..PS,If you get the 120 you'll need a 75.00 fcc lic. to operate on gmrs..

  10. Big Bill should fear nothing but fear itself. Check out Garmins' Rino 120s. If you get up on a hill you should be able to shoot your coords out to at least 20 to 30 miles. Don't Believe me? I regularly talk on my FRS radio out to 18 miles braking squelch. I talked to a guy 22miles away. On 1/2 a watt. Height is the key. Rinos should hit the market sometime in July with a little luck>>>
