  10. I have found a different type of marking on the geocaching map for a geocache. It looks like a Blue circle with a White square box with two little sticks sticking out. The geocache GC number is GC4D8V3 "Open Sesame". The print page does not show it, only on the map on geocaching.com. What is it ?
  11. Great that you did this as a caring geocacher for the love of the game. Same as cachers usually help fix a cache which needs help, be it a new water proof log, replacement cache container etc. I have done something similar to what you have done when I found some TB's that had nothing or a not legible card or paper. I didn't laminate I only used clear tape covering a printed card I made of the mission statement. But since I have found cheap self laminating business cards sizes at dollar stores. I did send a note to owners and I got back some saying thank you and nothing from others. I have only done 6. I do agree with "MP" that I should ask first the CO and I will do so from now on. If I had a Travel Bug out there and my card which was with it went missing or whatever, I would appreciate someone redoing it for me and letting me know. Sometimes new cachers may come across a TB and not know to do but this helps explain what to do.
  12. Ha ha I enjoyed that little story. Best of luck with your Ducks.
  13. Hi MiffyPaula From what I understand is that you had to register a travel bug other than the deadly duck ones by July 17. And it had to be an unactivated one. Then you can release it into a cache on July 20th to do the Duck Dash race. You can still purchase the deadly ducks and they will be automatically entered into the race and you do up your mission statement and activate them but only release them on July 20th and they have to end up at a geocaching event somewhere on August 20 2016 anywhere. Would be good to read the rules and such at geocaching.com HQ Duck Dash. Hope this helps you.
  14. I made them myself PnavE_81 I like the idea of the QR Code. Can I ask you which QR Code site you used to make them? WhatQR Code reader would you recommend? Were you able to get it to say to go to the geocaching calendar event page and to August 20 2016? I have an iPhone. I think that is a very smart way to do it and easy for those who understand how to do it. I'm not one of them but would like to try to learn. Any suggestions? Hughie250
  15. I made them myself I picked up some self laminating type the size of business cards at the dollar store. One pack of 8 and another pack of 50. This was in Canada. But I'm sure one of those type stores would have them and very reasonable.

  17. I think I solved my problem by signing out and then signing back in again. Thanks for all your advice.
  18. I am just using the new geocaching.com app for the iPhone app.I can go to and see and open caches on my Mac and iPad (using the geocaching.com) but not on my iPhone. I think I solved my problem. I just signed out and then signed back in. Thanks for all your advice. Hughie
  19. My join date was July 12 2011, my premium renewal date is Aug 14 2016. My iPhone will not show me caches at my location now. Could it be that there is a glitch in the renewal date and my joining date which is causing this? I will renew as I have auto renew but on Aug 14 2016. I think my iPhone should still show caches up to that date. Please help clarify. Hughie250
  20. Thank-you Toil & Trouble for the advice. I was able to find a geocache near where I live. Added a few items to this traditional cache signed the log book and cleaned up the area while walking back to my vehicle. A little CITO never hurts. I do not have a map on my Garmin Montana 650. But used the map from the write up.
  21. Would like help with setting up my Garmin Montana 600 with my iMac. Would like to do some geocaching. I'm not computer savvy.
