Inquiring minds want to know though - how it came about that the San Jose Mercury decided to do an article on geocaching? Also, did Mike, the reporter, go geocaching with Team Dralasites?
I am thinking of putting together a multi-cache that involves bicycle riding on paved multi-use trails and flat residential streets in order to get to each stage of the cache. About what mileage would someone who is a non-cyclist but reasonably fit could cover?
I know I can make it whatever distance I want, but would like to it to be within reach of many geocachers.
After watching the winter olympics and being intrigued by how fast some of the athletes were moving, I bought my GPS mainly to measure my speed while cross-country skiing plus to measure my trip skiing distance.
Since then, I have discovered other uses like marking my parking spot in a big parking lot and the more normal use as a navigational tool.

New woman geocacher here! Just bought my GPS about a month ago and found out about geocaching on the Garmin webpage. Just found my first cache yesterday! What fun!
