  1. Well done guys on finding a 1 caches !!! Debs, Paul & Cheddar Pink.
  2. The original PC that the majority of us use today was only ever designed to map 640Kb of memory. This was deemed to be more than enough for any foreseen application. When this became difficult, we had all sorts of complex mapping technologies to provide extended or expanded memory to 1 Mb...luxury.
  3. ...and said ram pack didn't fit very well. I remember spending all night typing in the 'Basic' of your latest masterpeice exploiting all 16 grayscales only to have the ram pack move and you'd lose the lot. Then you discovered that a matchhead strategically placed could save your frustration... My how the evenings used to fly by...
  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Caching is many things to many people ! Each to their own I say.
  5. Wadders, you are not alone. In Oct we were planning how to get to and what to do for our 1000th. Apart from the few (2 or 3) pub events, we've done nowt since then. I put this down to: Weather Lack of Daylight Christmas Starting to feel the urges again but lack of good weather and limited spare time are winning...at the moment.
  6. Yaahey, well done guys on a 1000 cache finds. Look forward to meeting up over the 2008 eventing season. Cheddar Pink sends her love to the little Hoppers. xx
  7. 494346 caches and we're well on the way to tacklin' the lot of them... now just time for another glass of Vintage Port (Hick !)
  8. Well I will offer £50 as it is know no longer backed up by Mgellan hope this is ok ? That's fine by me, send me an email via my account and we can discuss furthers. Paul
  9. I've got a copy. I am getting my eXplorist 500 repaired and then selling it as I don't use it anymore. I was planning to sell the Topo map separately but hadn't got as far as doing anything about it. Make me an offer. Paul
  10. My calendars arrived today. Many thanks Mandy. Debs.
  11. Good going both of you! Well done Debs and Paul
  12. My opinion for what its worth. I faced this decision some time ago and was fully in favour of buying an Otter box until I saw someone elses and didn't fancy the bulk. Then someone else showed me an Aquapac which I didn't fancy either but considering they are less than £20 I thought it was worth the punt. I should point out that I already had one of those padded leather flip cases for my PDA. Long story short, I really like accesability provided by the leather flip case and the limited but quite capable protection it offers should I drop my PDA. OK, no where near as much protection as an Otter box but in terms of gettting the balance right, absolutely bang on. In terms of bad weather etc, I immediatley grew to like the Aquapac, absolutely air/water tight and perfectly easy to use... oh and I forgot, none of these solutions are in any way bulky. Hope this helps.
  13. Having just returned from a glorious week in the Lake District, I would have to recommend the 'Quest for the Ring of Power' series of 6 caches. Great fun and a bit of a challenge but nothing too difficult. Paul
  14. Recently had to consider the market in a rush (badly damaged my Loox N560 2 days before a week in the Lake District). Two things put me off these 'all in one' units: 1) There is a tendancy for the processor speed to be 'slower' than the cutting edge PDAs of 6 months to a year ago (624MHz). 2) Screen size - if you use MM for your caching, you'll always be looking for as big a screen as you can find (IMHO). I just mention these two things as I think they are quite significant when buying your next caching gadget !
  15. Does that mean you're going to be brave and tow the van up yourself, or are you going to sit at home and wish you were out with us? Funny that H, 'cause I was thinking that I'm due a few days off. Trouble is then I'll feel bad 'cause Paul wants to come but just can't. Dilemma, dilemma.
  16. If the event had been one week later your out laws would have been there H. So it's probably good planning. Have a grand time and plenty of wine...no, no make that vodka. Luv Debs
  17. Well I'd best sneak Paul's guitar back out of the caravan and leave it at home! Liane, Junior wants to kill your party with a rendition on her violin (she hasn't played in years). I've tried my best to talk her out of it but she's got her mind firmly set. Sorry to one and all.
  18. A BIG well done Alan from all of us Redmondos Debs, Paul, Junior and Teenagers x 2.
  19. Well done boys! Good going Debs and Paul
  20. I 'ended up' with a machine with Vista without planning for it and have had significant issues with drivers for a variety of peripherals (card readers, MIDI interfaces etc). You might want to check VISTA compatible drivers are available for your current set-up before migrating to VISTA.
