  1. This was logged a few days ago at a local cache... October 21 by XXX XXX (258 found) Even with the help of the building owner who informed us that everyone else that was looking today couldn't find it.We had no luck either. Sorry to have not been able to log this one. Let me know if it's still there. October 21 by YYY YYY (20 found) and We found the "changing room" without difficulty and the Evan's house sign without difficulty. Couldn't find the magnetic key box (even stood on one of barrier posts to check on top). We looked pretty thoroughly and even found steel upon which the box could have been attached--no log--no box. I think it is gone. They were caching together and yet apparently only XXX knew how to log correctly. Makes me wonder if YYY's other 19 Finds are really Finds! By the way, if a "definable indentation" is all it takes to get a Found It! at a Did Not Find, I am going to start drawing boxes in the dirt!!! Oooh-and someone had mentioned caches you can see but are too high to reach? The cache before this one was a film canister with a key chain on it, hung from a young branch about 6 feet above eye level on a tree, in plain site! I guess the idea is to climb the tree to get it down. I am 6 feet tall and climbing that tree never would have helped!!! I got it-the dirty way.
  2. I haven't seen a question like this yet. I purchased a GeoCoin from someone online, because I wanted the coin. When I received it, it had a TB Number and Activation code. I bought the coin to keep as a collectible, not to use as a Travel Bug. But I certainly had intended to send TBs out in the future. I know it's possible, but is it allowable to engrave the TB number on a new tag with all the important info and send it off with an item, knowing that the actual Travel Bug/GeoCoin will never leave your hands? ~guinea gal
  3. I put a bid on one of the TBs on eBay before researching it thoroughly : ( But at least I can verify that there is an activation code with them, and mine is actually out there now. Next one I buy will be from Groundspeak. ~guinea_gal
  4. If I had my own coin to trade I would. But if you have any left to sell at this point, I would love to buy one. (Used to be a Line-dancing fool!)
  5. Your post inspired me to purchase my first geocoin. I didn't completely understand them, I thought they were strictly for passing along and not collecting. But I really wanted one! I think I have come across one of the homemade ones in a recent cache (can you tell I am new to this?) At least I think it is just a homemade one...there are no tracking numbers on them. So maybe I am up to two geocoins?
  6. I, for one, would LOVE to come a cross a Halloween Cache right now, filled with plastic spider rings, rubber snakes, halloween colored pencils... Happy Halloween!
