Just changed the HEADING option to BEARING. Just read the BEARING is the direction to the cache.

Used my Montana 650 today for the first time geocaching and I am wondering what dashboard others use. Here is how I have mine set. I am using the Small Data Fields dashboard with the following options: POINTER - Am I right it points the direction to the cache? It appears to work that way. GPS ACCURACY - Just want to know this info. HEADING - Am I right? Like the pointer it shows the direction to the cache. I sometime use a compass also. DISTANCE TO DEST - So I can tell how far I am from the cache. What options do you use and why? Thanks,

A couple times doing the updates I have notices the profiles change. As an example when I went to 3.68 (Beta) the "automotive" profile was the same as my geocaching profile. Same background and icons. Anyone else notice that happening? I am wondering if there is a way to do a factory reset to reset it like it just came out of the box, then update it?

I have the Beta 3.68 on mine now can I, or should I install 3.70 over it? Which is better? Thanks

When I upload GPX files to the Montana 650 for Geocaching does it use any waypoint space?

Is it stable? Any issues?

So I got my Montana 650T today. I was surprised that even though I had to wait for it because Garmin was fixing some issue that it did not come with the latest version software. It had 3.4 so I did an update. Also it was not set to English.

Suppose I have 3 GPX files, each with 500 caches. Is it possible to put all 3 in the GPX folder and have the Garmin read them? If only one file what does a person do to install 1000's of geocaches in the Montana? Thanks

I called GPS City today and found out that it did ship. I was told Garmin would not release any until they fix the screen calibration problem. Hopefully mine comes with no issues and it should have the latest software version.

no idea what the problem is there, but every single store i looked at around here has it in stock has nothing to do with Garmin its the store you bought it from respectable stores will always have one or two in stock as opposed to waiting for an order before getting it from Garmin GPSCity.com is where I ordered it.

The end of October I ordered a Montana 650T from on online store (a well known store). Shipping was scheduled before November 5th. Then they changed the shipping to approximately November 25th. Anyone know why the Montana 650T is so hard to get? Any quality issues? What is Garmins holdup?

As for the rechargable battery. Do I understand it right that if you put 3 AA batteries in you have to removed the rechargable? Thanks

I thought I read there was a software issue with the Montana. I would sure like to buy one. Any issues? Should I wait? What accessories are a must have?

Thinking of purchasing a Montana 650T and wondering if it is worth the upgrade. My main purpose is screen size and going paperless. My question is the paperless stuff. When I upload a GPX file how easy is it to read about the cache and actually use the GPS to find the cache? What is involved in switching back and forth? Comments please.

Thanks, I just happen to think that I actually need Mapsource to upload maps of the area I am in. Anyone have any tips for getting past the unlock code issues? I have a legitimate copy (Paid For) of Mapsource.

I was into Geocaching about 10 years ago and plan on getting back into it. I have a Garmin 76CS GPS and want to know the easiest way to get the cache waypoint loaded into it. Years ago I would download the file from here and open it in Mapsource then upload them to my GPS using that software. Since then I am unable to install Mapsource because of the Unlock code. I can not get the software to unlock and would prefer to not use it for that reason. Using a Garmin 76CS what software would you use to upload cache waypoints into it? Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Was wondering if others have slowed down on caching do to the price of gas? Also was wondering if anyone does it on a motorcycle? I was thinking about it. But I only have room for one on the motorcycle so I would be doing it alone. That is how it is now most of the time. Any motorcyclist out there? I have a Honda Valkyrie.

When I create a query and set it up for the closest 500 caches I only get the closest 72. Am I doing something wrong?

I wonder why PRC files were selected as the choice here since it appears to be limited to just one crappy piece of software to read it?

Are there any other programs other than Mobipocket that I can use to read PRc files with? I absolutely hate Mobipocket. It has corrupted my Cf card four times. Plus I have issues with my credit card with the Mobipocket company. I am using WM5 and would appreciate it if anyone knows of any other programs to read a PRC file. Thanks

I don't really like Mobipocket. I purchased the program using a brand new credit card with a new number and within days my card number was use in Paris France. I am in USA. Mobipocket is the only place I used that new number. Also I paid for the download of an Ebook and didn't get the entire book even after 6 trys. I emailed Mobipocket and still have not gotten an answer. So I would like to use another Pocket PC program that read PRC files. Do any exist? Thanks

How about the Dell Axim. Can the same software used on Palm Pilots be installed on it?
