  1. Rossford, Ohio to Sidney, Ohio. Map 2014.40 took me down Interstate 75 to exit 99, West on Main St., Turn South on Sidney-Wapak Rd. Turn East on Meranda rd. Turn South on Harmon, Turn on Thompson Schiff. Then from there it took me off the road straight to the center of Sidney It should have taken me to Exit 94 then south into Sidney.
  2. I am beginning to think it is an error in the map version.
  3. The activity setting is and has been set to "Automobile". Any other thoughts?
  4. Another thing when viewing the map (2014.40) on the Monterra it will lock on the road EXCEPT for about the last 15 miles of that trip, then it is a straight line through fields. Plus the ETA to destination is about an hour longer. Any thoughts?
  5. On my Monterra I have CM NA 2014.40 installed on an SD card. When I try to route a trip about 100 miles away it takes a direct route and does not follow roads. Routing is set to "Lock on Roads" I installed the map on the SD card from a download from Garmin's site. If I install the SD card I have in my Montana (CN NA 2012) it works correctly. I purchase this card with maps already installed. Same thing happens when I view the map through Basecamp and try to create a route. With 2014.40 it is a direct route, with 2012 it will follow the roads. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mark
  6. When I insert the CD it finds the Monterra and then seems to hang on "Communicating with server..." Am I doing something wrong? How can I install it? I do have a Micro SD card install in it. Thanks
  7. I already have the Montana 650t and am wondering if I should add a Monterra to my equipment? Other than wifi and FM radio what does the Monterra have to offer? Also am I right the Monterra will fit in the Montana mounts?
  8. When I bought my Montana I purchased the maps already on the SD card and installed the card. I am ready to update the maps again. Can I remove the SD card, purchase, download, and install the new CN onto the internal memory of the GPS? Or should I install and blank SD card and install it on there? What are my best options instead on purchasing it on an SD card?
  9. I have a Montana 650t with city navigator in a micro SD card installed. It is time to update CN and I want to know the best way? 1. Should I just buy it on SD card again? 2. Or can I buy it on CD and use Basecamp to install it on the internal memory allowing me to use the SD slot for other things like additional maps, geocaches, and POIs? Will option 2 work the way I described? Thoughts?
  10. I have a USB port I installed in my car. Can I charge my Montana by plugging in the USB cable? Will it take longer?
  11. Actually Garmin is telling me my maps are up to date except 2012.10 in installed. Help me understand why I can't update to a 2014 version like on my Nuvi's.
  12. The current map version on my Montana 650t is 2012.10. I would like to update to the 2014 version. My maps are installed on the micro card inserted behind the battery. Can I update online or do I have to purchase a new micro card? Thanks
  13. That worked. Thanks for being polite about it.
  14. I can not find the "found it" link in the app. I am now 2 miles from the find. Do I have to be on top of if?
  15. I am using an iPhone 5 and the latest app for it. Once I find the cache is there a way to log my find using the iPhone?
  16. Living in NW Ohio I have a vacation coming up in March 2013 and I am looking for a place to geocache that is no more than a days drive from NW Ohio. I have about a weeks time. Somewhere warm that at most requires a light jacket. Any suggestions? Oh, and I like cheap but clean accommodations. Thanks for any ideas.
  17. I just got an Iphone and found a neat file storage app that I want to share. Its called Dropbox and I use it almost daily between work and home. MY Iphone is set to save pictures there also. I have my Iphone, Ipad, home desktop, and 2 laptops on the same account. If I work on a file I one device, save it, I can open it on the other without transferring the file. You get 2gb of free space and can pay for more. Just wish I could link my Garmin Montana to it.
  18. I have a Montana 650T with the latest software version installed and when it is changing the word "Garmin" is behind the battery. Sometimes it is split with half of the word on each side of the screen. Any thoughts?
  19. I went to the link to install the update but it is telling me I am up to date. I have 4.40 installed. How do I get to 4.50?
  20. Your battery may die faster if it doesn't get enough oxygen.
  21. This is my opinion... In the beginning it was a little unstable but they have really improved with each software update. I think it is the best for going paperless. Once you learn how to use it you will wonder how you navigated without one. If you can afford it, buy it. You will not regret it.
  22. You should read my OP again. I already have a Montana 650T. Getting an Ipad soon for work.
  23. I am thinking of purchasing an IPad and would like to know if I can use it with a Montana? Can I download GPX files here and transfer them to the Montana using the IPad?
  24. Yes...to both parts of your sentence... What did you discover?
