Until I was turned on to geocaching, I lived a fairly sedentary lifestyle. Now, even when I am not caching, I find myself hiking through the woods to admir the beauty of mother nature. As a result, I have lost nearly 20 lbs. When I get time to actually get out more often, I am sure I will lose more while doing something that I like. I feel great, and this "sport" is the reason. Fellow posters here and on the chat room have been so embracing as well. Very good people. Just thought that I would share my story. You all have a blessed week.
Congratulations.

This a place for Kentucky area geocacher's to chat.

Congrats to Florida: They are leading the country - and possibly the world - in # of 2007 CITOs on the schedule. This is really very cool, and I do hope that others try and knock you off the lead.
It will mean more CITOs overall!
Do you think anyone else will anyone catch FL in the # of CITOs for 2007? See here: I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours
Way to go Florida.

That's one of the reasons I disagree with "team cacher accounts" except for certain circumstances. What happens of the team splits up? If a single member finds a few caches on a solo trip, does the entire team get credit for the find? Can a team go to a cache rich area and split up and have each member go after a few caches each? Nothing wrong, however, with a group of individuals searching together and logging each find individually.
To answer the question, I'd say you can log a cache under your new account if you personally were there when the team found the cache. This is similar to the process you'd take if you wanted to change your account name (like I did a few months after I started). Remember to back-date your finds. You won't be able to transfer any TB records, unless you happened to write down the tracking number for each one.
Just my opinion.

....and it's a good opinion..
It is.

I've never actually seen one "out in the wild". They do look interesting and I may get some.
Same here.

1st post for an ocassional lurker.
If two teams with individual accounts arrive at a new cache simultaneously, are they both FTF?
If two teams set out together for a new cache are they both FTF is they work together?
Silly technical point but curious on what others think!
An answer to the first question: is that I don't think that will append.
An answer to the second question: is yes they will get the FTF if they work together.
But that's just want I think.

Anyone else feel like that?
No, not me.

I'm still waiting to meet a fellow geocacher at a bar.

Do I remember my first Geocache?

Camping is fun that's true, but staying with family is better. And I am no wimp, I have hike six mile's in sandal's.

This is my story.
This was find number six on my first geocaching trek in JCMF Tom Wallace recreation area. Wow I made a big mistake on this one, when I was inputting the coord's for this one I got mix up, I took the north coord's from Ronald Reagan Memorial Cache and mix them up with the west coord's from Trinity Tree. So after searching in the wrong area for some time I check the coord's finding my mistake, so I fix the coord's, but when all of this is going on I keep hearing gunshot like sounds so this give's me more incentive to check the coord's. So with the fix coord's I hike to the cache and after a quick search I find the cache. Thanks for the heart pounding trek and rock on!
And here is the cache that I was looking for.

I don't think we've ever done an official night cache, but we love finding regular caches at night.
Same here.

Oh and pay no attention to that silly little dog. He's still upset about that thing with the State trooper and the 2 packages of hot dogs.
I don't think I heard/read about that. Michigan Trooper? Link? Explanation?
I have been to Indiana (before I started Geocaching) and look forward to caching in Clifty Falls State Park sometime. (You Indianins have put some caches in it right?)
Clifty Falls State Park rocks, but on the down side their are not many cache there.

I need to find more friends like you....as I stomp around in my combat boots looking for caches. quite the funny lady. got any single friends on the east coast
You go geocaching in combat boots.
