Any news on my application to run the abandoned Route 66 category?
-
Great job.. I was wondering how many I had reviewed.
I thought it was a few hundred, not a few thousand.
Thank You - Diolch Yn Fawr.

Thanks again Groundspeak for the updated stats!

Just when I was getting my confidence back, the site is now displaying intermittent error notices.
I have had this notice twice this morning:

An Error Has Occurred.
Your request has resulted in an error. You may choose to retry your previous request. Or you may tell us what you were doing when this error occurred: PULLING MY HAIR OUT.
HOPING I COULD VIEW SOME OF MY 5,000 + WAYMARKS.
Or perhaps review someone else's. Not sure I want to post any more Waymarks.
-
Seems to be working remarkably well at the moment, knock on wood. dadgum, spoke too soon. I should rather say it WAS working remarkable well several hours ago.
I guess they swapped the gerbils for hamsters, but even these hamsters are now all pooped out.

I think the Waymarking Core members should be made aware.
What method do you use to identify this abuse.
I was wondering If I have ever been duped.
-
I checked more of his categories and all of the latest submissions are taken from Google Street View (I would guess 500+). Google doesn't allow this kind of use. Should I bring his name here and some examples? We really have to stop this.
-
I can't review waymarks, I'm sorry.
-
I am unable to review waymarks - Tried clicking on link in email notifications, & triangle link by MY WAYMARKS.
Tried on Laptop & Desktop.

Currently it's an unpredictable mix of going well and all sorts of problems.
It's intersting to see how many different error messages one single site can produce.
-
Error note if you try & visit a waymark:
Could not find a part of the path 'E:\inetpub\Waymarking.com\xml\scoring_schema.xml'.
-
Unable to post - Select State / Province - dropdown not working.
This is the error message I Get:
Could not find a part of the path 'E:\inetpub\Waymarking.com\xml\scoring_schema.xml'.

Hi Sandy
Here are my thought, or rants.
Instruction 1: I had to read several times to make sure, you could post from an entry paid, location.
I assume you can post if it's an outdoor location. (I have seen time lines on brass plaques)
2: The time line should be photographed in full, with the dates, headings, sections, readable. Also one of the photos, the full text must be easily readable, this would be the default photo.. Therefore no need to mention a minimum, number of photos. 4,or 5 photos should be sufficient in most situations., but as you say if it needs 15 photos, so what, digital photos are free.
3: Everything as you say. If the entire time line is not easily readable in the listings photo gallery, the full text must be included in the long description.
4: I think the short description, should include the Time frame, & the gist of the timeline. According to Groundspeak, most people never get to read the long description, and have requested more info in the short descriptions. I don't like variables, that require typing, they often duplicate, the information that should be in the short or long descriptions. Variable drop downs OK.
5: I agree English is a must.
6: I like to have it made easy for me, so a standard format for the title would be appreciated. perhaps the word (timeline) - (subject) - (period) - (City, State, Country.)
I hope this helps. Warm Welsh Wishes Jeff.
RIP BruceS
