  1. What was the Updates or upgarde done? Or was it only a simple Maintenance with no site modifications?
  2. since update , when i unse the adress geocaching.com/map to go directly to the map, even when i am already logged in, the maps loads at the Seatle at the center. and not my home location... unlike was before... dunno if a missing setting on my part of something wrong withe the map.. thanks for lettig us choose the map we prefer!

  4. The fact that you take at least time to inform the co sould be a good proof of well intentions Beside that now... you have foud one you will want to find more welcome to the fun.... grab a gps and star playing
  5. Since no "update report" does anyone know what hapened yesterdays? Updates ou only bug repair or hardware repair?
  6. Possible but strange that i can remeber seeing a map withe blue frown ;(
  7. mmm the strange thing is as far as i remember last june when i started geocaching i remeber that those "blue" frown were on the map... for the moment what i do is go to my profile page to show my logs and select Did not find ... but if found it later still there but by clicking on it i can see i found it.. Could be a "querry option" "that i logged a dnf" added to the "i haven`t found it" would list all the current DNF We could then do a "that i logged a dnf" and add "found in last 7 days" to create a list of caches to revisit since they are confirmed there.. This could really be usefull... bu i really am sure that this WAS on the map Before... as i remember that i noticed that it was on the map but lacking a DNF icon in the gps... so i am sure it was There somehow!!!
  8. Oups my bad , was used to have same forum for bugs and suggestions ;) Hope this could be an alternative as topomap because here in canada those are officila and well detailled and most Geocaghers use that map in garmin gps so we could see the same in map and gps that would be cool!
  9. http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/wms/index.html for map data access
  10. The canadian Govt has a free engine for map that a legally free maps i don`t know if ground speak could use it for a Map layer in our region? http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/licence.jsp The map are the same used in another free MAP called http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/
  11. If it is a workaround and does not causes them direct trouble i do not see why not after all... all those caches are placer byt user so what is wrong to having users other ways to display them?
  12. Something i do not understand... even if i go to mapquest i have more details that the mapquest page here why? here is Geocaching with mq layer: here is the exact same zoomlevel on mapquest: whye so less details in teh Geocaching version of that Mapquest page...
  13. I have a solution that could helkp us Premium Members if we have a PQ of a sector avaliable you use this site that can "read" and show Caches on the standard google map so access to terrain and satellite http://www.cachemaps.com/map.php
  14. since there is already the option to "create a pocket querry from view" on the Map
  15. One good way could be to generate a kind of KMZ file that "open a cache/Querry in google earth" the same way when we look at a trackable and ask for Google earth Path... so beside icons for "preview querry" "map ths querry" there could also be "Map in google earth" that could create a KMZ file loadable by Google earth.
  16. HAPPY VALENTINE`S DAY!! Today i feel just like we have broked up with a good lover.... Hope we will stay firend Google map!
  17. Give me 25 000 Cache Poket Querry GPX and let me see it in google EARTH and i will stop ranting right away!!! since i would not need you OpenMaps there will be moe bandwidth for thos who dont pay and do not have pocket querries!
  18. finally found it : http://www.geocaching.com/account/ManagePreferences.aspx
  19. Since everything is now OPEN, Open Street, Open Map, OPEN Office , Open anything... And paying Openly 30$ Will we need to use OPENCACHING at least their MAPS are detailed and fast... (event if there is not much more than good map there )
  20. Same Issue here the "ckeckboard" whatever zoom level, whathever layer (open, topo or any) slow and does not load completely
  21. Then Let Us download a BIG pocket querry with 5000-25 000 caches in a 300 KM area THEN we will be able to work ourself with our OWN maping software... Google Earth/ Basecamp or any other... we live in a wide area with many caches... going to create many small pocket for a BIG area is NOT fun at all...
  22. new map Soooooooooooo slow unusable and NO detail... in our City of 40 000 , looks like there are 2 steets!! TOTAL!!
