Trying to view a Travel Bug info on Google Earth Plus (3.0.0762) downloaded last night and I am getting this error.
….kml failed: Parse error: Parse error: Invalid character (Unicode 0x1B) at line:12 at line: 10
I have seen silimar posts but didn't see a suggestion or work around. Did I miss it?

Congrats to the Geocaching.com team for an absolutely great addition to the sport!!
I’m new to Google Earth and haven’t figured out the pushpin thing to create a custom route, but I’m very used to Mapsend so I have a question – should I be able create a route (waypoint file) in Mapsend and then use GPSBabel to convert it to a GPX file? When I attempted this the upload did not seem to recognize the file or at least it never ended up on the website.

I have a travel bug "If I Only Had a Brain" that currently is in the "Blue Buck Cache." No one has visited this cache since August 4th. The bug has had a really good run, and I would like to bring him home and retire him before he ends up in the TB graveyard.
If someone could help him get to a more active cache I would really apreciate it.
Thanks

Who do I contact about a problem with my membership payment?

So.... I guess it isn't that hard to pass up the PNY

Thanks. Just ran across a PNY 256MB card at JR.com for $50 after rebate. Might be hard to pass up.

I have a Magellan gold that is a few years old. I upgraded to 5.12 firmware a few months back. I want to update my mapping software to DirectRoute, but have a couple questions about SD cards before I do.
1.My largest card is 64meg. I have a vague memory (from way back) that large cards didn’t work very well. From recent threads it appears that situation might be fixed. Is there a maximum card size and/or do certain size cards work better than others?
2.I also seem to remember that the larger SanDisk brand cards were not working well with Magellan. Would anyone recommend a brand name that is working well for them?
Thanks

Cool! Tried method 3 for one state - worked great.
Thanks. (Now why didn't I think of that)

I'm planning a road trip from central Illinios to Florida in a few weeks. Does anyone have any tips on how to search the database for caches near a specific highway(say I-55 for example)?
When we went to New England last summer I did many, many searches at about one degree intervals - tooK a REAL long time. I'm looking for something quicker and easier.

Rats! I think starting a group is a great idea, but we are going to a concert Saturday night. Keep me posted on developments with ICASH.

ACK, my wife just reminded me that we are tied up the first weekend in October
On a brighter note I do have a TB that started in So. California to come to Springfield, and I think it wants to go back home. I need to hurry up and take some pictures and get it to a cache. Hopefully I can get that done this weekend.

One of my Travel Bugs was dropped at High and Dry http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=11758 on July 1st. No one has visited this cache since then.
Does anyone know if the cache still exists? If its OK, I'll just chill a while more, if not, I'll send Mr Lincoln off to the TB Graveyard.
Thanks for any information.

Depending on how far you want to walk you might want to start at the other end.
I'll do my best to make it to a get togeather. Keep me posted when and where. Met quite a few of the "Peoria" crowd at a picnic last June (good group) but no other Springfield folks made it. I think our numbers are growing so It would be fun to meet them in person.

What happens if the email address in someone's profile becomes "out of date." If I try to email that person will I be notified that it is undeliverable, or does it go to a "dead email drop?"

"Interesting" story about this past weekend. I was in very heavy tree cover, just as I found the cache my batteries gave out. I changed batteries and went through the cache and signed the log, spent maybe three or four minutes. The Gold never did acquire a second satellite, it was a short way out so I just turned it off. Anyway, I will try your trick when I have a better view of the sky.

Never mind. I figured out it has to do with special characters in the description. { }
