  3. Check out the National Register of Big Trees. I think this will be a great category...if you start up a group, let me know, and I'm in. yes, you found the info...i was busy with other things today, but the group is on the way....
  4. why is this our 'ability'? should this not be an automatic Groundspeak process? once the group is created and becomes popular--to some sort of standard--should this not be done by TPTB? and relegating it to the category name would be a good thing.....
  5. not only could it fix this problem, but it could also allow linkage to a profile from any group...or is ther some way to link our 'group profile' to the 'stats' profile?
  6. cool beans. will ther also be a way to 'stop the emails'? say i go to live in the middle of the desert, at the rate the past few days have sent mail, ill never be able to read all of that--even in daily digests.... will each group have a digest or can they all be compiled into one email?

  9. with the 3 leadership role limit, i must reduce my number of categories--i have more than 3 as it is... if you want it, send me an email stating so and i will hand it over.... otherwise i could use anothe officer or so, to get it group managable.
  10. sorry about that.....it is all unnavigated territory. i think those that saw it go down were quite amazed as well, i know i was. i know how it works, as far as that process goes. wilson could probably vouch that the rest is just like our experience with category creation/management thus far. we will now see how the approval process works--the time it takes. just think, once we work this out, the site might can move out of beta. we still need more active waymarkers though......
  11. Thanks.... Name -- should be the same as it is listed on the NRHP -yes. State / Territory (drop down box) -should there first be a 'country' option; as when submitting a waymark, thus, determining you option for state/territory? County / Borough / Parish (text box?) -this would be a text box, but once we had several counties/bourough/parish names it could become a dropdown box as perscribed by the above data--with a 'not listed' option, of course. Date listed -yes, maybe add date constructed? this is available on the 'register' is it not? Public / Private (radio button?) -yes, to know if you can only see the 'front' or actually go inside Season start / Season finish (optional) Photograph submitted (check box, required) -is this necessary in the description? i think this is better served in the approval process. put it in the 'how to submit a waymark' in this category 'rules' and do not approve any that don't have the pics. {as a side note, i like the pictures on the description page, and try to require it....see any of my posted waymarks}. Website (text box, optional) -yes, with maybe multiple lines? maybe there are different sites; a park service site and one specifically about the house. my comments added in above text.
  12. tranfer to wilson successful..... now we vote on it after he says we want a category...... and when we 100% vote yes, he fills out a draft description for the review process..... do we get to vote there as well? we are voting in the group..... answers just bring more questions.....
  13. i did not try to vote you out...thanks for the magic....wish we all had some magic up our sleeve. you said you didnt want to be a officer, after i had made you one, and was trying to give you common status again...... its just all so new and unknown...gotta play with it to figure it out....and one good way to learn something is to mess it up one time.... chapterhouse
  14. so far only 2 have comfirmed membership... but i need someone to take over leadership... i can create no new categories with my current stock....
  15. what about the champion trees? google the subject.... there are state champions and national champions.... there is a point system assigned to the tree (DBH, height, canopy spreda, etc)....and the one with the most points is the designated champion.... this would make a great category.....but trees die and new ones take their place....a great test for group monderation...

  17. yea, but i didnt read all the dialogue before i stepped down, and chestress got the leader position...we'll have to see how it goes....
  18. how do you step down? would it not be a change leadership to X officer? similar to adopting out a category.... could there be an 'ad' put on the category description stating that you wish to give it away?
  19. i have too many categories....i can't create another through the group process....someone else must be the leadar....
  20. group is valid, but i must relenquish leadership--i already have over the max # of categories..... any one wat to take over? i will gladly be the vice president of the group.... if it is to go any farther that is what we must do....
  21. so the national register of historic places group is up and running, but how do i create a message (announcement) to send it to all members?

  23. what's the status on this category? now that groups are up and running, i will gladly serve on the 'board' though i will probable never post anything in this category, i hope to visit some..... chapterhouse
