  1. can the 'next page' links be put at the bottom of the page in addition to the top? this would make it more visible and prevent having to go back to the top of the page. is there a way to split the groups into sections? those i lead (at the top) those i am an officer in (according to rank?) and those i am a regular member in another factor would be if it manages a category or not.
  2. yes there should be some way to know that the mark has already been approved. the link sent in notification could be redirected to a site that states it has been approved....
  3. what about the number of stories in the building and if it is made out of brick or something else?
  4. cool links..... wish i would have known about that when i was searching for the locations of those locationless smileys.
  5. yes, i have quite a few marks in the SE US, if anyone in the area wants to try to find them...navigating the site would be the only drawback to this process at the moment. at what point will the finding start? it will HAVE to happen when people start trying to post marks that have already been created....i have found a few this way, and i log them as visits. when this becomes a widespread problem and complaints are posted is when, right?
  6. woohoo now ggroups can function as groups, but will the email say where it came from?..... 'X historical marker group email' 'fountain category management group email' etc.......
  7. i have added one of the 'cute' little ads to my profile, and as with the gc.com 'stat bar' it provides a link to wm.com.....so post it all over your web sites..... how long before we can get one that has a counter like gc.com?
  8. yes, proof of visit is key...but i often waymark alone, and cant really be in my own pictures, and feel that i pic of my gps is stupid...after loffing the find that picture is useless...i can't do anything with it (why do you have a gps in the frame?). and what if i did not know/forgot that that category needed a pic of my gps in it?
  9. any one know of a locationless that has not appeared on Waymarking yet? this is what i can think of (& ones i logged before they were stopped)....some are in the works, others are not--as far as i know.... See Rock City barns Old Trainstations - used for something else old train engines - not in service old firehouses - used for something else superfund cleanup sites skateparks smoke report - the locations of fire towers, which many are also 'benchmarks' - would add to the recovered benchmark category and water towers (which are 'benchmarks' too) disney benchmarks - see forums about this one blue star highway markers - not to take away from the historical markers, but they are a good thing to have seperate) heisman trophy winners halls of fame flatirons and many others that i will remember later.... any one know of any others? fell free to post them here, and to begin creating at your leisure.....make sure to post a note in the forums so only one of each is started..... happy hunting. chapterhouse
  10. you can take it...i got 'other' (non-Groundspeak) things i need to be doing, and have ideas for my own categories to start..... would these memproals not belong in the pet-cemetery category?
  11. well, im glad i wasnt the only one scrambling to get rid of categories..... i also see that the conversion has been kind of slow.....how many groups wont convert and have 'what that post says' done to them? i see that the limit has been upped, thanks, now that i have given a category or 2 away, i might can create my own category(ies), still got some peddeling going on.....it just isnt feasable to create the group, set up the description and then pass it on to someone to 'lead'. can we see a list of the non-converted locationless caches that could be 'restarted' now by someone else....many of them have been suggested here.....
  12. yes, anytime something happens in the group, an email goes out.....so then it would be logical to send out an email stating that it had been approved, and by whom.
  13. oh yea, the red check marks... why cant we have the 'owner' arrow from caching for 'our marks' and the checks for the visited ones? they will appear on the map as checked boxes too (at least for PMs?) you do know that you can visit a mark as many times as you want, but only the first log will change your stats...so if you go someplace on vacation every year or something
  14. so lets see if i got all this straight.... where do i get the kml for Waymarking? i barely can use the one for caching--i cant get online with my pc, i am at a gov workstation and dont know if i can put it on here...... so the votes being reset means i have to start voting all over again? i liked the large pic next to the log...and i hate that not yet approved mark visits do not accept uploads--if i KNOW the mark will be approved, i go ahead and visit it, putting my pics in the log (a creation visit) so that they might one day be in 'my gallery'. along these lines, pre update logging marks in this manner would auto add to your stats...but what if it has to be archived due to being in the wrong category (not a fountain, but a former fountain). i think that it should not be in the 'waymarks visited' stats until it has been approved. this brings me to the point that "i own 610 waymarks", but approximately 4 of that # is archived marks that did not go into a category (denied for valid reasons, but it has nowhere to go). can we do something with these? until now, i was the only one who knew that this was affecting my #s--but believe me, 'it isnt any skin off my back'.
  15. its where it's at..... but wait, do i have less than 5? i'll have to do some research.... ill get back to you.... hey, you guys, just keep on keepin on doing the things you do.
  16. ok thanks....i guess each category should have a link to the appropriate source. are many places on both lists?
  17. i thought i already saw a totem pole category... i just looked, and i must have been mistaken.
  18. well, i am having to 'give categories' away so that i might have less than 3 so that i might start one of my own. that leaves it open to the viewers out there to do it....
  19. i would like one of each please....
  20. so, BDT: why not just pick any you have liked from my Waymarking postings......you liked the snow...thers bound to be a good one in there....
