  1. you could always break out the decoder coin....
  2. it was said that they would be set to auto approve. in setting up the groups for all the categories, this might have been ommited in error. i had asked whether this category setting modification would affect the sumpitions not yet approved.
  3. well, it is nice to see that encryption is now working.....though, hopefully it will not take as long to fix the decrypt function. why encrypt a log anyway, unless it is a 'puzzle waymark'?
  4. Premium Only if you go to 'your categories' page, look at the key in the bottom. there is an icon (signal) for premium categories..... anyone knoew what this is about? did i miss something?
  5. yes, i mentioned something like this is a post a while back.... a 'box' like this, which we would plaster around as the GC.com box has been, would create more intrest in Waymarking......and it might suffice to quench the demand for adding WM.com tabs onto the GC.com profile...
  6. since the archived marks are no longer displayed on this page (in red), can the un approved marks be displayed in that manner? the * next to them is not easy to spot..... the user friendlyness of this page ('my waymarks') scould use some attention.... see previous post.... this would also aid in the management of marks in the 'at risk' categories. as long as the 'archive mark' box is not clicked it would appear on the page. speaking or archiving marks, where do they go? sometimes they might be needed for refrence.....on GC.com, do your archived caches not still appear in your 'owned' stats? i would believe that on WM.com these #s should not be included in the #s [it IS NO LONGER A MARK]; unless it was valid for any time {ie: submit a McDs. it is a valid mark for an amount of time. for whatever reason it is closed/demolished/does not exist any more. the visited stats for all those who logged it during this time would not change, however the owner's 'owned stats' would decrease by 1, but clicking on the appropriate link would still display the mark (with the 'archived red line'} this way the owner would know that at one time it was there, but it is not anymore then, what does the 'waymark is active' check box serve the purpose of?
  7. what about 'devilish locations'? i see that a group has been formed, but my mark still has not been approved.... do they know there is a que? i would assume [arent we both sometimes? LOL] that there are more out there besides me with marks in limbo. with groups galore is there any word on the 'daily digest' for notifications? as i was browsing the 'join a group page' i notices the quite a few of the groups were on the list twice....and it also appears that the groups are listed from 'new' to 'old'.....plus, the * saying i am a member is still not working properly....could there not be a '*' for groups i am an officer in and a '&' for those i am only a member in?
  8. Are you talking about the Waymarks Visited tab in your Waymarking profile? Or are you talking about something like this: you make that? i havent been on here in a week or so.....but i havent seen anything like this....just the 'banners'.
  9. i have had similar spliiage accidents with magic cars many times...
  10. in locationless caching, i believe, they had their own 'cache'
  11. so, what is the usual turn around from the states? i am currently in an area with a rural PO that operates kind of slow, but i figured it should have arrived....the girl at the coulter acted funny because it was going to germany, said customs makes you pay taxes in some things in the mail....
  12. when looking at a category or searching an area, can there be a link to not display those that 'i' have visited/own?
  13. Geez - I sent you one - you mean you never saw it it is my understanding that this 'box' is meant for the approval process, or to 'pass notes'. the issue is that sometimes it is approved by someone other than the 'owner' and the message is 'lost'. however, as a waymark owner, the private message is retained and displayed on my 'view' of the mark; thus, the message should still be displayed for the 'cat. owner', if one can know which mark to navigate too....
  14. i mailed my coins a few weeks ago (may 27th), and it has been a while since any activity on this thread....they havent been picked up, wondering of they arrived...
  15. they might as well have stolen the 'real' coin....the 'icon' (whether it was a coin or not) is no longer being shared with others, and you can no longer live vicariously through your TB.....in addition to the benefits for 'finding cachers', are there no benefits for the owner? i thought travel bugs were about the journey, as an owner and a mover..... i have sent copies abroad....and most of the loggers state in their log that it was a copy. some are disgruntled, bhut the still picked it up.... i placed copies in a local cache, and in the cache log, someone mentioned that they did not pick it up b/c it was a copy..... everyone has there own thing. you do yours, we'll do ours. if you dont like it, dont do it.....
  16. is there any way a list of these 'at-risk' categories can be posted? several have complied (GA markers), but others have not (and haven't been approving marks either: Devilish Locations).
  17. Private Message: Only the Memorial owner and Memorial category owner will be able to see this message. what about group members? maybe just the officers? if this is currently operational, the statement should be reworded to say so....
  18. seems to be an acceptable thing to advertise any nearby GC/WM, whether you own it or not. providing links helps greatly, eliminates searching.
  19. since it is still in beta, could all merchandise being sold also include this? it would then be removed when the site moves into 'full release' or whatever 1.0 is called.
  20. there needs to ba an acceptable alternative to usine "GE" to map waymarks. there are those that can't use 'GE' for various reasons: -internet connection not facilitative to use (dial up) -computer might not run GE -internet access is through an agency that does not allow it (through internet usage agreements) the development to a more low-level user friendly mapping system would be beneficial to the whole Waymarking family.
  21. i posted a Civil War memorial. it was declined for several reasons. i edited and also added a 'note to owner' about why something was.... then this morning, i got 2 emails. the first was its approval, the next was another decline for the date again. the date i was using was 1997--the date it was put on the NRHP--rather than making up some date in the past. obviously 1997 is wrong, i could not 'google' anything about it, and when others see that date they would also know it is wrong, and maybe someone will know how to figure out the correct information [the PEER part of the review process. In order to get it approved, i followed the suggestion to make it 01/01/1900. but this leads to the question of why 4 space dates are not used...often for waymark submittal criteria you need a date--construction, opening, occurance, etc--but the month and day are suggested to be 01/01 when not known....so why not make the 4 space year acceptable? anyway, here are copies of the emails..... --This message was sent through http://www.Waymarking.com -- got two emails this morning, had to be from different people... The Groundspeak Team (2)From: Waymarking.com To: merlyn0753@aol.com Subject: Your waymark has been declined Date: Sat, 27 May 2006 03:56:15 -0700 This is an automated message from Waymarking.com Uh-oh! Your waymark, 'Confederate Monument, Glasgow, KY' has been denied by the category owner. The following reason for the denial was given: "This monument cannot have been installed in 1997. Please correct the date. If monument is undated, then make an educated guess. Looks like 1900 to me." To edit your waymark for resubmission, use the following link: http://www.Waymarking.com/my/WaymarkEdit.a...8b-03ca679be28b It is not uncommon for waymarks to be denied on the first submission. Waymark category owners can be very particular and may insist that their rules be followed exactly as written. Happy Waymarking!
