  1. I normally have my look out dog with me and my little boy.....We were once trying to find a cache on the side of a footpath in a nature reserve....i had been there 3 times with no luck of finding the cache and not once had any body disturbed me whilst browsing (if was my first find)....so i jump over this little ditch and start looking whilst my son and dog stand on the path......blaze gets all giddy and starts jumping up....aaron sbouts "quickly mummy a muggler is comming" (sooo cute when he says that) I thought up this straight on the spot and now save it for any other caches where muggles could be about " ohhh Aaron why did you have to throw the dogs ball in these bushes" and if the dog n boy aint with me its this simple line " dont mind me i think i heard an injured animal in the bushes" tends to work...but when im backing out of brambles and nettles ppl do look at me like ive gone walk abouts from the mental hospital....talking to meself....laughing.....OUCH OUCH OUCH quite alot aswell lol ALL PART OF THE FUN
  2. Dont worry guys im not planning on messing up my firs TB Find At least i no that the coins are the same aswell because i have come across them aswell! ANYHOO MY PET HATE - having to climb into bushes on side of paths....then be alerted by my dog or son that a muggle is on their way down and i have to think of an excuse incase they think (weirdo) women in the bushes so i use the same line all the time.... "oh aaron where did you throw ur ball now?" tends to work quite well unless im on my own and i say " dont mind me....i think i just heard an injured bird somewhere in this grass" hahaha mental i no!!!! AND LAST BUT DEFO NOT LEAST......NETTLES.....TAKE A LOOK AT MY PIC AND ULL SEE WHAT I MEAN....LIL BUGGERS
  3. I see most of these posts are from people in USA (im guessin) in NW England our boxes consist on mini highlighters, marbles, keyrings, bracelets, rings (cheap 20p ones) and other little items like that.....Do ppl over there not find items and then keep them in a bag and place them in a new cache and so on....in my bag i currently have a castle thing and a TB i intend to place these into the next cache i find and then take 1 thing from the next one and so on and so on.....Is this not the correct thing to do ????
  4. OoOoO let us no how u get on duuude I can guarantee u will be HOOKED after ur first couple of finds...If u get a DNF carry on to the next one, dont give up thinkin there all gonna be like that....I had to revist a cache location 3 times before i eventually found it....Keep us posted....Look forward to seein how u got on
  5. Hey marty thankyou for the reply....I was scared to pick the first 2 up because if im not sure what im doing then i dont like to move things incase i mess it up for the TB Owner........One question in thicko terms if u may - Are the Geocoins the same as TBs??? I still have the TB in my bag (well sons toystory one but i use it for caching) Will the owner be annoyed at me for not bein able to drop it off within a day or so....weve had rubbish weather and didnt want to trek my little boy out in the rain and wind (we have no car u see) but i plan to get it to my selected location in the next few days
  6. It'd be nice if more cachers would take that approach. I've just got back off a 4 day holiday. Several bugs were 'grabbed' from me the same day I dropped them in a cache. So, a pet hate of impatient cachers. If you're going to grab a TB, at least then log it into the cache you found it from to keep mileage up to date. Several of the ones I dropped where in mileage races I have to say sometimes u cant be an impatient cacher.....Ive found 3 caches now that had TBs in and didnt even no what to do with them so ive left them. One of the guys who caches in the same area as me dropped a TB about a week ago and i picked it up on thursday (12th) it hadnt been there that long but the description of the TB was to take it to nice places with nice views........So did i do the wrong thing by not leaving it in there long enough..... Im sorry im not trying to be funny or anything....im not overly smart u see and sometimes the things that seem sooo easy to most people are more challenging for me (i think its because im a lefty) I logged it as grabbed so i could move it on to a nice place i take my son....was this the wrong thing to do....Sorry again..
  7. Hey dude...just looked on ur pics....be careful of ur pics if ur adding them to peoples logs....ive just been having a discussion with people about spoiler photos.....id ask the log owner if its ok to put a picture on of the actual location of the cache....i no some people on the spoiler post dislike the fact ppl are ruining the hunt by putting exposed cache pics on. Just thought id give u the heads up dude
  8. It depends on the container. If the cache page doesn't say what, or says that it's disguised, or you find it and see it's been 'custom camouflaged' then don't post a picture of it... If you want pictures of cache containers, check out the Bolas Heathens gallery! Hope u dont expect me to look through all them pics lol. Id love to get a badge of some sort......oooo just seen this mega event poster....what are they about...probs wrong place to put this but ur the second person to reply to me...if its easy to message just do that Im good with my containers around here as they all have been the same so far
  9. Trust me it certainly doesn't work, people just ignore it and still go ahead and upload spoiler pics. One of my earthcaches keeps getting a proof of visit answer uploaded. That is despite the harsh warning on the cache page not to do it. Youd think people would respect someones log entry and if it says no spoiler pics then thats exactly what they should do! Id never take a pic of the cache in its original place but i sometimes wonder if people have a problem of me taking a pic of my little boy with the cache incase they dont want people knowing what there looking for cause some people dont even put on what the cache actually is!!! Im sure someone would message me though and i would have no problem removing the pic
  10. It seems different in the North east.....Most people who hide caches actually ask you in there log to upload a picture once you have found the cache of the beautiful surroundings and weird and wonderful places that they hide things! I never look at the photos before i go and find that cache....id much rather have faith in my gps/compass and try locate myself..... I take my little lad "treasure hunting" with me and he loves helping me find the cache....normally i do take a pic of him with the cache but not right next to the location or sitting with it in the spot it goes ect. I think the best thing to do on your own personal logs if you are the one making the cache would be to advise people on there that you would NOT like any pictures that give away in too much detail the location.....I just take pics of the surrounding areas as i have found some beautiful spots which both my child and my dog have really enjoyed! .................I love taking pictures but if it DOES cause a problem i would like a personal email instead of someone making a thread about it on here
  11. Not sure if anyone has wrote this yet but my c:geo is down its forcing close when im loading the maps to see some caches i were hoping to get today!!! Anyone know if and when this will be fixed ??? My smilies make things a whole lot easier
  12. Defo C:geo for the android...u can find the cache on there, set it to offline mode (so u dont have to spend pennies like me on PAYG) and then turn on the compass and then ur good to go. Hope u have a good time on ur cache hunt
