I had been waiting for a notice that an answer to my question has come - but got none. So I visited the thread just today as I had the problem again and thought of my thread. sorry to answer so late! to garri: thanks very much for your answers! my browser prints without backgrounds. but i did not realize that i can press 'printer friendly' twice to get a print with all logs but without background colours. now i tried - and it works fine! to HHL: you are right! but you see the reason why above. Du hast völlig recht; war zu spät, hätte eher mal nach meinem Fred kucken müssen. Bin aber erst heute wieder drauf gestossen, weil es mir wieder passiert ist. Immer diese Newbies ... Hans

When I print out the descriptions with all logs, the background of the sites is green / olive coloured. This will be printed, too, and the rest of the site without text is full green and empties my ink bottles! Please redesigne these sites for a printer friendly output! Thanks Hans

@Mr. Fantastic and Pablo Mac: Thanks for your notes, but I have no serial plug at my mac or iBook, only usb and firewire. Thanks again

thanks for your answers. @pablo mac: that is my problem - I only got an usb (mini) - usb cable with my garmin, not an usb - serial :-(

I would be very interested and would pay for it,; but i need a usb-serial cable fo my GPS60 with usb and big round 4 point female plug. Has anyone heard of it?

thanks for your answers! i looked for all the noticed software. but my problem is now that my gps60 has not a serial port but only an usb port and a 4 pointed big female plug. and therefore i could not find an adaptor. and in my ibook i cannot install a serial card. there is only usb and firewire.

@hidegoseek and all, greetings from a newbie from Cologne! do you use a specific cable for connection? I have an iBook with usb but read that a specific serial-usb adaptor is needed. Thanks Hans

Our children (alces_alces) showed us while a vacancy, explained how easy it would be, and we were infected! After vacancy we bought our own garmin (first geko 101 but changed after a few days to GPS60). Found our first cache alone and are now looking for caches in the county around! Happy caching! A question of a beginner please: will I have to update elder versions before or can I update only the newest version? Thanks Hans
