  1. I am presently building a few caches that CAN'T be stolen, unless you're willing to invest some time, effort and money into acquiring them. I do have to laugh when I saw an ammo can with this big lock and big chain around a big tree and the chain went though that little wire handle. All you have to do is pop that wire handle off and it's yours. Sometimes you have to realize, 'kids will be kids'. Most things taken are by kids that don't think beyond 'now'.
  2. I'm new and went to premium after about two weeks when I realized there were quite a few premium member only caches out there. Glad I did.
  3. I've 20 logged finds and about 200 unlogged (waiting to take the kids to 'find' these). Never used a gps yet. May not be a lot of finds but it's a lot of fun.
  4. If I am out of my vehicle, it is a DNF. I was there, I didn't find it and sign it.
  5. Home-made all the way, baby! We'll just have to let time and your experience judge.
  6. So the guy who picks the products off the shelf in the warehouse, the guy who picks up the package when it is ready to ship, the guy who drives the truck half way across the country, the guy who sorts the big truck load into smaller trucks, and the guy who delivers it to your door don't have real jobs? That's right. Unless you know something different, usually, it is someone in Pakistan who places the order through the internet which is linked into a computer where it loads into a que for an 'Automated Bin Retrieval System' (ABRS), which picks the part which places it on a conveyor, which is put into an automated box machine with computer generated shipping label attached and then loaded onto a truck. Everything automated except for the hi-lo driver who loads about 60 trucks per day and the actual driver who delivers it. I know something different. Best Buy headquarters is in my neck of the woods. How many people would you guess are employed here alone, not to mention all their retail stores and warehouses? Overall (worldwide), they employed 180,000 in 2010. I was defending BB. I was talking crap about online retailers that don't have store fronts. Notice I was the one shopping there. So that makes me, the customer, your boss(The customer is always right).

  8. When they come back and find it (doubtful), erase their log and don't let them get credit, after all, you're a jerk, act like a jerk.
  9. My wife and kids bought themselves a gps at Best Buy recently. It seems to be a few bucks less then anywhere else from these parts. I don't buy online. I support local businesses, people with real jobs.
  10. $50 and I'll add yours as a favorite. I'm not proud.
  11. Leave the ones close to home for a rainy day. Explore, explore, explore.
  12. Did you tell him what he is suppose to do with it or what he should do with it? I suggest the latter. After reading their logs, it ain't a guy. It's a girl.
  13. I only have a few finds but so far but they've all been overrated in my book. But, if the person who hides them feels they deserve that rating due to their preception, so be it.
  14. The apps for the phones will hurt more then GPSr's going into mainstream marketing.
  15. Were they comparing themselves to anyone or was that just you? See, there we go again. It's a legitimate question. My stats are published. They are wrong in a number of ways, but they are published. There is nothing competitive about that UNLESS and until you compare them to someone else's stats and try to make some sort of judgement from them...in which case the 'competition' is wholly made up. So, what's up with these people posting a first to find dance? Sounds like a victory dance to me. I could be wrong here. Enlighten me. Every single FTF I've seen sounds like a winner/loser experience. "I beat you! Ha, Ha!"
  16. If ya' just gotta' use glass, they sell transparent duct tape now. It'll hold it all together in case of clumsiness and it might even add a layer of padding.
  17. Jerk would be the nicest thing I've been called. I'd be happy.
  18. Were they comparing themselves to anyone or was that just you? See, there we go again.
  19. Yeap you could. I do believe a lot of these teams already do that.
  20. So, could I take a picture of this bar code and then someone at work on their computer could pull it up, take a snap shot and get credit? Wow, ain't technology great?!
  21. No holding back now. Tell us how you really feel...
  22. They say no competetion yet look at all those stats.
