I have a yellow etrex and would like something with a better signal under some tree cover. I was pondering what to buy, and like anything else I've went to buy, it gets murkier when spending some time in the user forums. I've read about problems with the Cx units.
What would result in the best signal : and older GPSMap76 with a quadhelix antenna or the newer VistaCx?
I am not about to spend $500Can so I am trying to put things in perspective here.
Thanks for your insite folks.

You may be confusing the Mapquest map with the Mapquest link. There is a link on your page, just no map. Maybe it takes a couple of days to show up?
I should be more specific. I do mean the map image. I checked this morning on a different computer and lo and behold it was there. (image_map.gif) in the source code. Thinking how could this computer display it and my newer one not, I went and checked and it shows it now too! I think someone must have added it last night. LOL. How about this cache though : GCQBQ7
Please tell me there is no map image. I even went (from my browser) "View", "Source" and then did a "Find" to look for "image_map.gif" and it is not there in the source code.

Might be your browser. Went to your cache and there was the mapquest link. Led me to HERE.
I know I did updates on my browser recently, but I'll check if there were any that were missed. This is peculiar that most show up but some do not. There has to be something in the html coding that is not backwards compatible if this is the case.

I hid my first cache "Whistle Stop" "GCXHPZ" a month ago and it was published by mtn-man on Aug 11. The problem with the listing is that there is no mapquest link like most caches have. I have e-mailed the fellow twice but still no answer. Have I done something wrong? I noticed a handfull of caches reviewed by the same person are without the mapquest link.

Does it matter if you by one with or without a fixed declination adjustment? I was looking at either the Suunto MCB or MC-2DL

Way more than I wan't to spend. The 500 is likely going to be more than $400. I saw the Sportrak Color for $250.

Hi folks. I have had some good fun cache hunting with a borrowed Basic Etrex. I am trying to research which unit to buy for myself. I saw one ebay that may be okay. It is a Magellan Sportrak map. It says in the specs:
"NB: SporTrak Map is NOT compatible with MapSend Topo Canada." Is this an issue?
The other unit that seemed suitable was a Magellan Sportrak Color. This one apparently has been discontinued by Magellan. Is it okay for use in Canada? Can it display Can topographical maps?
What are you Canadians buying?

Hi gang. I am trying to see if this old Palm Vx will do paperless caching or not. I have successfully loaded Plucker. Could someone send me a gpx file to test it or where to find a sample.
