  1. All I can say about it is thank goodness I have a broadband connection. Now I just need to go out and buy a bigger hard drive. USA Photomaps is one of my favorite GPS accessory programs. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  5. A while back I sent my Legend into Garmin for repairs from a golfing mishap. Garmin did not fix my unit and send it back, they sent me a different unit that had been refurbished. All of my waypoints, routes and tracks were transferred to the 'new' unit, but they also left a number of topo maps in the texas area loaded from the previous owner. It seems to me that the returned Legend responds much slower to my input, sometimes taking several seconds to register a click with the click stick. I think this is due to the map memory being full. What I'd like to do is delete the topo maps from the Legend memory. The problem is that I don't own any of the Mapsource CD's to to it with. Is there a way for me to erase these maps? I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.
  6. Now that's a heck of a reward for the first finder. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  8. If you're looking to actually purchase photo editing software consider Paint Shop Pro as an alternative to Photoshop. It does nearly all the same things for a fraction of the price of the full version of Photoshop. It's what I'm not associated with the company, but I've been using for years with no troubles or complaints. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  10. Not sure what all was updated, but some of the new map images that I've been downloading tonight are from within the past couple years. Big improvement over the 7-15 year old images that were there before. Though it only seems to be in limited areas, it's good to see the updates. Maybe the downtime at terraserver was worth it. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  12. I don't know about getting the basic eTrex to display yardage for a golf course, I have a Legend and the latest software has yards included. I just want to remind everybody that using a GPSr on a golf course to determine distance to the green is technically against the rules. Of course that's never stopped me, but I don't play for money or in tournaments. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

Number two is for use after number three, or on fine scratches. Number one is for a final polish job. Or go http://www.novuspolish.com/ to visit the web site. I had trouble with that site (I'm not Flash friendly), but a quick search on Google turned up this site which has pricing and ordering information. It's not cheap stuff, but it's much less expensive than the Garmin option. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  21. Virginia is in the South/Southeast? I've always thought of it as a mid-atlantic state, but the Groundspeak forums place it in the Northeast category. So try posting this in the Norhteast forum. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.
  22. After reading the latest topic concerning USA Photomaps I went and downloaded the latest version of it, 1.99. I quickly installed it and tried the new zoom levels (8, 16, 32, and 64 m/pixel). Needs new map images, no problem, I've a cable connection and downloading is a breeze. Except nothing downloads. I get an error instead. Specifically, "TerraServer is Unavailable September 30, 2002. We will be performing hardware maintenance on the TerraServer Database and Web Servers from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm Pacific Daylight Savings time. We apologize for the inconvenience. We should be back on-line soon." Bummer. Not only does this effect USA Photomaps, but Lost Outdoors is also not displaying maps or images. I wonder how many days it will take MS to complete the one day maintenance that was scheduled. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.

  24. quote:Originally posted by JDMC: USAPhotoMaps users really should have a powerful computer, lots of memory, a big hard drive, a big screen, and a fast Internet connection (I'm helping move the computer industry forward). No wonder the program is slow for me. I only have 2 of those, a big screen and a fast internet connection. Using a P450 with only 128 meg memory makes scrolling very slow for me. I use the same 'cheat' that Rubbertoe does. I really need to get a better computer. I'm not lost! I just don't know where I am.
