  1. That is something that I am working towards, I'm aiming to be able to send out reminders a few days before the deadline. The emails will feature a link to follow if you don't wish to recieve reminders and will only be sent out if you haven't submitted that months results when its getting close to the deadline. I could also create an email to go out when I publish the latest months results with the details. I would probably make this opt-in though. Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.
  2. Say you tell me the URL, what stops other people finding the url? Are you sure you don't want to use some password protection?! Just because you don't like to it, it doesn't mean it cannot be found. Put a .htaccess file in the same directory so people need to know the username and password, or even better have PHP prompting for the password so you can assign individual usernames and passwords. The idea being it is easier to regulate who is getting access. Adam (cough cough see cacher of the month website cough cough ) Edit to say that I do think this could be useful! MikeG did mention something similar though.
  3. I already get an email when people submit their results so that if they don't go into the database properly or the server sets on fire, I have a record of the results. So maybe I will add a box for comments to the submit form.
  4. I can add an excuse box on the form if you like.
  5. That's on the list, so not currently i'm afraid. I'll add it manually, just one yes? Edited to say i've added one to what it was, you can check in your profile, if that isn't correct please let me know.
  6. I think the 'view my profile' was a bit of a stupid omission underneath the image, I'll add it so its easier to find.
  7. If you click on that image it will take you through to your profile page where you should find a list of your submissions. Adam
  8. Just made a minor update to the website. If you are logged in, you will be able to see the months results that you have submitted but have not yet been published by looking on your profile page. Others won't be able to see your results until publication. So now you'll be able to confirm what the database has you down as having.
  9. Yes it could get quite confusing to try to change the rules. I'll leave it as it is just improve the wording of the rules. Adam
  10. I will edit the rules to make it a bit clearer but your interpretation is correct. TBs count when you log them out of a cache for the purpose of moving them. So logging in and out (such as at an event, or if you can't help the TB on its way) wouldn't count. It doesn't matter when you drop them in a cache. I'll have a think but it might be better for TBs to count when dropped into a cache. Adam
  11. If you've logged it on GC.com then you're welcome to count them for COTM. I don't see any problems logging TBs that you've moved from your own cache. Adam
  12. I would like to announce that the Cacher of the month website is now accepting entries for January 2006. All are invited to participate no matter what your score. Existing participants can register to receive login details so they can submit their stats online. New participants can either email their stats to me or let me know their GC.com username so I can add them to the database so that they can register then submit their results using the form. If anyone has any trouble with registering or using the web form then they should let me know and I will try to resolve the issue. Entries by email are welcome if that is more convenient for you. As before, entries will be accepted from the 1st to the 15th of each month for the previous months stats. With the results being published on the 16th. The scoring also remains unchanged. See http://www.aebrookes.co.uk/cotm/ Adam
  13. By the magic that is the web, here is how it looked: http://web.archive.org/web/20050325221406/...g_feature.shtml Note the comments as a result of the article's inaccuracies.
  14. The 2006 winter olympics are held in Turin, Italy from the 10th to 26th February.
  15. I would have thought that anyone who goes out into the countryside in winter would be expecting to find some mud.
  16. Looking forward to returning to Darlington next year and being able to go caching round Richmond, a very cache rich area. Started my caching in Darlington last summer, never got down to Richmond, had plenty to go out round Darlo. Edit to say that this looks like the URL: http://www.coasttocoastguides.co.uk/direct/richmond.htm
  17. I've added you into the database so you can now register. Anyone who hasn't taken part before, please email me and I'll add your GC.com username to the database. I'm in the process of developing the register form to allow for new users but its slightly more complex so I expect it to be a few days before I get it done. Adam
  18. adambro wonders what people are going on about?!
  19. Should make em easier, or failing that send me the solutions, do you have a pay pal account?
  20. Yeah, did it last summer. Couldn't see a bookmark list of M62 drivebys so just started putting one together, not loads that look suitable. M62 Drive-bys
  21. Hey!!! Don't you be stealing the first to find chances! Junction 22/23 would be nice though. Oh and nearly a bus route and published during the day when everyone else will be working, that would be even better.
  22. Should be straight away. I'll email you through your profile.
  23. I think what you are recieving is the weekly updated list. Notification emails are about a single cache and are sent as soon as it is published.
